Olivia Ren

Olivia sniffed as she stepped along the sand and into the ocean. The wet sand enveloped her toes and she was waist deep in the water, not caring about her clothes. Her fingers swished around the water, and she started sobbing, gazing out over the deep blue.

Death, Close Sister

After getting off work late at night, the vampire had changed in the back room of the bar, her work clothes folded and tucked carefully in the messenger bag slung across her body; she couldn't risk getting them dirty, and she wasn't quite in the mood to return to school just yet. Bright red canvas sneakers had replaced the black flats, replacing the ones that had faded and fallen apart in the past five years. Numerous times her redheaded friend had insisted on her replacing them, and when she refused, he had instead bought her a new pair himself claiming that they were a birthday gift. A pair of gray capris replaced her formal work pants, various pockets filled with knick knacks and her white shirt had been substituted for a black t-shirt with the faded logo of The Pack, another gift from the redheaded bassist. Humming lightly to herself, she strolled along the beach while twirling a pen between her fingers, very careful not to hit the clicky bit of this particular, and very special, pen.

Mizuki was happy to reach the water. She went to one of the far parts of the beach, near the cliffs so that no one would bother them. It was where she could give birth in peace. It wasn't long before she removed the the dress she wore over top of her bikini. She was excited and it was clear on her face. She sat down right by the edge of the water. All she needed to do was move forward and go into the water.

And Your Voice Was All I Heard...

Setting his son down maybe three feet back from the water, he handed the young boy the toy he had grabbed as well as the apple juice. "Now, stay here and behave. You will have a younger sibling soon." he promised the little boy, ruffling his hair a bit. The weather was nice, and the sea was calm; he couldn't really ask for a better day for Mizuki to give birth. He moved towards the edge of the water where she sat, setting the bag on dry sand a foot or so behind her and slipping off his sandals. He was glad he had decided to wear shorts that day, and he crouched in the wet sand beside his wife. He could tell that she was excited, and he didn't blame her; he was excited as well, especially to find out the gender of the baby. Ephraim had turned out to look very much like his mother, and the spirit wondered if this one would too. He also needed to start thinking of names that included the letter x, as it was a tradition in his family and among all ice spirits. He wasn't sure if his children would wind up with any ice related powers, but it was said that x was an important factor. Not, of course, that he actually believed that but he didn't really want to mess with tradition. "Are you ready?" he asked, wanting to ensure that his wife would be ready when it was time.

Mizuki turned and looked at him. "It doesn't matter if I'm ready because it's now or never." She answered as a wave came it. She used the movement to let it carry her towards the sea. She had become much better with two legged swimming and she felt better doing it while giving birth. It wasn't like her children are all going to come out with tails and start swimming. The woman didn't go too far. Just far enough that she was still touching the bottom. She pulled off her bikini bottom. It was just going to get in the way.

Keeping a careful eye on his wife as she drifted out a bit, he noticed that she slipped off her swim bottoms. He wasn't surprised, considering a baby would be coming out soon, but he was glad that with the way the light was falling he couldn't see anything. His son approached, clambering into his lap with the sippy cup in one hand and an action figure in the other. Pyry sat back into the sand and allowed his son to sit on his lap and play. The spirit ruffled his son's hair, silently glad that the boy was so distracted with his toy and juice. He watched his wife in the water, ready to be at her assistance in a moment's notice.

Mizuki's face twisted a few times and she also made a few gasp. That was normal in the process of birth. "She moved closer into the beach so she wasn't too far out. It got to the point she was nearly back on shore. She seemed to relax when she did that. She reached down. "Hey Pyry. I think I feel the head." She called out. She wanted her husband to come closer. He could bring their eldest closer so that they could all be together.

Moving his son off his lap, he stood before bending down to scoop him back up. Ephraim dropped his juice, though he seemed to pay it little mind. With his son on his hip, he moved closer so that he was beside his wife before bending down again. Ephraim splashed down into the water, not seeming to care that his shorts were getting wet. He moved curiously towards his mother, sparing his father only a brief glance as the man knelt in the shallow surf. "I think it's time to start pushing." he reminded his wife, remembering what the head meant. He spared a glance, noticing that it certainly did look like the baby was beginning to come. His hands were shaking a bit, but otherwise he seemed mostly calm. He offered his wife his hand, in case she wanted to squeeze it.

Mizuki squeezed Pyry's hand. She did so gently so that way she wasn't hurting him. She gave a little giggle. "Much more romantic then going to the hospital." She told her love. She then ushered her son over. She was quick to give him a big hug before she started to push. Her pushing came in cycles before she felt the pop. A moment later the baby came out. It was clear that this one had blue hair and it was a girl.

Managing a small smile at the comment about romance, Pyry was simply hoping that it would end just as well. Ephraim was called over to his mother, and the man simply held his wife's hand until the baby came out. Using his free hand, he twisted a vine of ice out from the water, hooking the strap of the bag to bring it closer. Suspending it there, the man reached in to pull out a blanket that he handed to his wife. Scooping the infant from the water, his hand was gentle as he ensured that nothing was wrong. "It's a girl." he informed his wife, noting the sprouts of blue hair. It seemed this one had some substantial traces of spirit in her, and this intrigued him. He looked down at the baby girl in his arms, moving towards his wife to offer the tiny infant to her.

Mizuki took the little girl in her arms and looked at the child. She craddled the child. "Hello there missy." The woman said with a smile. She then turned to her son. "Look Ephraim. This is your sister." He told the boy who was looking at the now crying thing in his mother's arms. the dance teacher looked at her husband. "So have any ideas for a name?" She asked him excited to have her little girl. She almost thought that this one was also going to be a boy.

Looking mildly surprised at his wife's question about names, the spirit was thrown for a loop. There were a menagerie of names containing the all important x, but not exactly something that wouldn't earn a few odd looks in this realm. He thought, thinking through names he had heard or knew from books and movies. "I am not good with names." he admitted, thinking through a few. "But I like Isadora Xanthe. Or Xenia." it was an interesting set of names, but it seemed he wasn't confident with his choices. "I also like the name Brighid." the teacher looked down at the little girl, still surprised that she resembled him so closely.

"And you said you weren't good at names?" The woman commented with a chuckle showing that she liked the names that he picked out. "I think I may have a cousin named Brighid so lets go with Isadora." She agreed about the first name. She didn't want to relate too much to her family when it came to names. "Xenia. Isadora Xenia." She helped her husband finalize the name that they would call their daughter. "Isadora and Ephraim our two little treasures." The woman agreed on the names.

Surprised that she had actually agreed to one of the names, the spirit nodded. "Isadora was the first ice spirit a very long time ago. The name carries good fortune." he told her, hoping for the best for his daughter. Naming worked very differently in the Spirit Realm, one was born knowing their names, and so the concept of naming another person had been odd to him at first. He had gotten over this, of course, as he knew it wasn't quite the same. He was glad that his wife had helped decide on the final name, as decisions, especially important ones, weren't his thing. Pyry rather liked the sound of the names, looking down at the little face belonging to the newest addition to their family. Nodding in agreement with his wife, he wondered just how he had managed to get something as wonderful as his family.

Mizuki smiled. She loved the name. It was prefect for her little girl. Ephraim reached up to his father while his little sister yawned. She was just as tired as Mizuki was. Just because her mom was pushing didn't mean she wasn't doing anything. "Did you bring a camera? I want to take a picture with you and the kids." Mizuki told him. She wanted to see both children in the arms of the man she loved.
