The music and loud conversation from the bar erupted suddenly as Roman entered the bathroom. Looking to the blue eyed beauty that Vlad didnt need to see right now, the silence was once restored after the cop shut the bathroom door. Her talk of vandalism, had him internally scoffing at her. Seriously? That's the first thing she noticed? Vlad was well aware of what he had done and the damages he would have to pay for. Turning his hazel gaze away from Romane he kept quiet, his hands resting on the sink, blood dripping from the cuts in his knuckles on the one. Glass was upon the sink and in it. Some was even on the floor. It wasnt until he heard Romane's inquiry to whether or not he was hurt that had him scoffing and smiling sadly.
"Mentally.. physically.. emotionally.." Vlad said gently as he turned on the water and put his bleeding hand under it to wash away the blood. He was regretfully watching his own blood race down the drain with some stray small glass pieces and the water itself. "Yes. And no.. im not alright either. No i dont want to talk about it. Especially not with a blue eyed beauty." Vlad said with a frown.
"And especially not with a cop. Who should have stopped what was happening to Bela, that man and those children. Something that i couldnt stop.. something that i wanted no one else to have to experience. It was fine when it was just me. But them?!" Vlad said his voice raising and filling with rage. "And i couldnt stop it! And now i have to live with that fact! That i was a helpless coward, a pathetic loser who couldnt save her from being-" Vlad slammed his fists down on the sink. "And then.. then i couldnt even hurt them back for what they did to her and the others! Its my childhood all over again!" Vlad said before he slammed his hands down on the sink again, enough to make it loose or fall to the ground. Vlad sank to his knees suddenly and wrapped his arms around himself. Lowering his head, his hair hid the tears streaming down his face, but the quaking of his shoulders was a dead give away of the torment going on inside of him.

Crimson didn't want to look in the direction at all, he was not getting into some bar brawl for someone he didn't know. But, he guessed it couldn't hurt to act like he was old buddies with the man. From what he knew about this gentleman, he was blind. Or at least that's what he had thought he heard. But, then how did he know that the blond was staring in their direction? That seemed quite odd. Maybe blind people had a certain form of telepathy that made them able to-- okay. That sounded quite silly. But, it wasn't the most pressing matter at the time either way, so it was discarded. Clingy? Well, that wasn't good. But, at least he had someone that was chasing after him. Not that the whole not having someone thing even bothered him, it was more so the fact that he was getting older every second and without anyone. It just felt like he would die alone.
He finished off his cigarette and placed it in the ashtray, hoping the man wasn't offended by smoke. "Does smoke bother you, mate?" He figured now was as good a time as ever to ask. The man was even stalking him? But, that did kind of go along with clingy, obsessively clingy. The offer of drinks sealed the deal. It really couldn't hurt though, right? "You've got yourself a friend for the night, mate." He smirked at the man and prayed to the goddesses that they had Bambora, and lots of it.

Xeiro obnoxiously laughed at Mitsuke with the remark about her boss. But, then he realized he really was a d**k, so that was kind of a compliment. "I hear your boss is very attractive though, so I guess that makes up for it?" He laughed, always the one to boost his own self esteem. He didn't care to comment about her spending her time alone mainly because he knew that it would end with her throwing a drink in his face and he sitting alone for the rest of the night. So, he overlooked it and took another drink.
His eyes were down on the table when she mumbled something about the whore and hoped that she wasn't talking about Bela. He had almost completely forgotten that she didn't know that they were ...whatever the hell they were. It just seemed to awkward to be like, soooo that girl you hate? Yeah, I've been hitting that. So, it was just best to leave it unspoken. He just nodded, tapping his fingers gently against the table. The silence was killing him, so out came another ridiculously corny question. "Do you like it here?"

Mitsuke's outfit~
Mitsuke took a small sip and laughed at him. "One would think it would be enough to make up for it all, but he's far too cocky. I do hear his good looks run in the family, it's great that it wasn't all wasted on him." She gave him a silly grin and took another drink. She was never good at watching body language, so the thoughts he was having didn't seem any different to her. She was a tad too preoccupied watching everything around her, anyway. Then came another corny question, did he not realize that she didn't mind sitting in silence? It was just nice enough to know that he cared enough to actually want to sit near her. But, she felt she owed it in some weird way to respond to all of his silliness. "If you mean the bar, well yeah. I love it here. It's a great little place and wherever there's alcohol you know I'll be happy. But, if you mean Nirvani in general then not really. The people are nice and everything, I guess. I just haven't made much of a mark and the reason we're here in the first place." She stopped and gripped the hem of her dress tightly. She knew she didn't need to say anymore. She took a large drink from her glass and stared blankly down at the table until the fairy would make it all subside.

Bela stared at the mirror in front of her, tugging at her hair nervously again and again. Was she even ready for this? She wasn't sure, exactly. But, in the name of survival, she had to haul that cash cow that was New Year's eve. One way or the other. It only came once a year, and she couldn't let it pass. Besides, Alice was already more than just a little worried about her lying around in her room all day almost every day. At least she had made an effort to clean Connor's, still not knowing it was him, mess. She got about 35% of it done, mind you, but something is something! Maybe she should ask Hansel to come over and help her? Bela did know he was the helpful type, and why wouldn't he help her after hearing about her plight? But yes, here she is, again. In the same dressing room Keith had almost stabbed himself into oblivion and beyond, it had been exactly one year to this very night.
She'd have taken a peek out the door to see the gathering of people, but she was way too scared she'd be frightened by the sheer number of people there. Nobody could blame her if she decided to not take it too far tonight, would they? She had no desire to even go up there tonight, none at all. But she had convinced herself the wolf whistles and the sparce applause here and there would help her ego some. What was she thinking?! Alice had been more than understanding, but Bela was much too stubborn. And she rounded up all the will power dhe could within her to face this new challenge, and even then, she wasn't sure if that was enough.
------------------------------------------
Gemma, on the other hand, arrived a little later. Matthew was already working and being a boring NPC, but she decided to come alone, since she wanted to look pretty and, besides, they live right next door to this place. She could walk here in the dark by herself, practically. She, however, felt a little out of place. Scanning over the ever growing crowd of nobodies, she spotted two very distinct hair colors: Orange and Crimson. No surprises to who those two were. But, another thing that made her waste quite a bit of time on her way to get here, her heels. Matthew had hassled her to wear something she usually didn't wear, because it was New Year's, and now she was struggling to walk in them. So, even if she wanted to approach either of them, she instead moved to sit in the nearest table to the exit. Slipping in rather ungracefully into her seat. Oh well.

Nanami hadn't really expected Raiden to reply. Work was one thing, but the bar? Raiden was a young guy, he probably had a dozen better ways to spend New Year's Eve than chatting with his older boss. Still, she wasn't going to judge his choices, and she was actually quite pleased he was seemingly interested in a conversation. "I am excellent," she replied brightly, setting down her glass and gesturing to the bartender (NPC Matthew?) for another. "It's New Year's Eve, one of the best nights of the year," she explained with a grin and an added wink. "Though, it's still a bit quiet, isn't it?" She glanced around the room. Last year she had been late, but maybe it had been the right time to arrive afterall. She glanced at the new glass that had been placed in front of him, and as she turned her legs towards Raiden, she lifted the glass up with a pointed smile. "Cheers~"
...He spoke! Mei felt incredibly proud of herself, like she had accomplished something, by speaking and earning a reply. "Uhm... no!" she chirped, still staring at Dante intently. The name was familiar, too, so she knew that she wasn't just hallucinating. Normally that would be enough for her, reassurance that she wasn't completely crazy just yet, but she had made a commitment, she couldn't just walk away. "I was just wondering... Have you ever been sick before?" Wait, no, that was too general. "Like really sick? Like, you need to see a doctor sort of sick?" ...Nope, still weird. "Oh! Or, have you been to a festival?" There! That was a little bit more specific. Mei felt triumphant, and so she smiled at him, brightly, stupidly.

If any analogy could work for what Romane felt as she watched Vladimir, it would be that of a minefield she had knowingly walked onto out of morbid curiosity. There were several fears, ideas, that floated in her head as the first 'mine' went off, but she hadn't gotten the impulse to leave just yet. She happily pointed out that this was due to her being an idiot who never could see a warning sign even if it waltzed up to her and told her itself and, much to her own insecurities delight, Vladimir agreed. She felt a sting at that comment, a frown settling firmly on her face – it wasn't that she cared for his opinion. He was just another civilian who probably criticized every part of her work whenever they had spare time and the urge to do so. Ah, but.. It was still something else entirely to hear it being said aloud like that.
Before she could mull for long on it, however, he carried on with growing. Desperation? Anger? She couldn't tell what it was, but it didn't make standing alone in the bathroom feel any safer, especially as his fists made contact with the sink. But, instead of holding true to her instinct's claim of danger, she found what he said less offensive and slowly more reminiscent. It had her neglecting her gun, at least, something Alice would be thankful for.. ...If she ignored the broken sink, mirror, and new blood stains on the ground.. Perhaps it was how he didn't appear so tall when huddled on the floor like that or, as one pervading tone would insist, how Romane was always asking for some misfortune to befall her, but she didn't have much reluctance in approaching him. She frowned at the soft crunches of the glass beneath her boots, but didn't pay it much mind as she knelt in front of him.
She kept her eyes carefully on his hand, eying to check for any deeper cuts while she spoke, “I do not believe you had the knowledge to prevent the events that took place nor do I think that anyone would place blame on you for any of them, Mr. Tepes.” She paused – nothing seemed very badly damaged.. Although, the bleeding hadn't stopped on some.. Still, they were minor. Only infection seemed to be the worry now. She shifted her eyes to glance at what little of his face she could see, but the sudden feeling of her intruding on something had her looking back to his hands. “If any of your assumptions were correct, it would have been the former.” She stopped. Oh, she knew what she wanted to say, should say, but.. It.. Her frowned deepened and she steeled herself before forcing it out sincerely, “..I am sorry for what occurred to you, Ms. James, Mr. Waldroup, Mr. Sonata, Ms. Vanni, and Mr. Romane,” That last one had her wincing in the slightest despite her attempts to keep the guilt from her tone, “It, ah.. I apologize.” No need for explanations, were there? She doubted he would want excuses, anyway. She frowned and stood back up, moving back a pace or two to go to the paper dispenser next to what.. was the sink. “Ms. Ladd would likely appreciate if you were to keep your injuries from staining the floor,” She took a few of the disposable towels out and held them out to the man, although she wasn't looking to see if he saw her arm or not out of some respect to his current predaciment.

"Oh.. right. I think i remember seeing you there before. Along with that other girl." Dante said as the thought occurred to him that Mei looked familiar. "Yeah i was at the clinic along with my brother. But i was the one who was... sick." Dante said, not saying actually why he had gone into the clinic. Somehow. I came in for a sexually transmitted disease check seemed... disgusting to tell another person.
"Im Dante, i help my brother Vladimir run the General store we own." Dante said with a smile as he held out his hand to Mei so she could shake it. Or whatever. _____________
Sorry? She apologized for what happened to him and the others? No authority figure ever apologized for what had happened. Not back then.. and now.. there was one that was saying she was sorry for not stopping it. For course that didn't stop his guilt of not being able to stop it himself, like he had in his past. It did silence his crying for a moment. Long enough to have his eyes catch the woman's offer of the disposable towels.
Reaching up Vlad took them and wrapped up his one hand gingerly. Getting to his feet slowly Vlad's hair fell back away from his tear stricken face. "I told them i didnt want to come here. That it was too soon. And if i see Bela i dont know what im going to do." Vlad said gently as he looked at the damaged he had done to the bathroom. Damn..
"How do you face someone you couldnt save? If i could have just.. gotten through that door or... " Vlad shook his head, trying to shake the thoughts away. He pulled out his checkbook and started writing a check for Alice Ladd, for the damages done to the bathroom. "Thanks for the apology.." Vlad said sincerely as he looked to Romane, his guilt ridden hazel gaze meeting her blue eyes.
" Alice is going to kill me for this." Vlad said looking back to the damage, he signed the check and tore it from the others. Now just to give it to her or Pip. " You know.. i should just head home.. with how uncomfortable it is for me to be here... but im too afraid to walk out that door alone. Sounds so horribly unmanly and unlike me." Vlad shook his head and smiled sadly. __________
Hans had to remind himself he wasnt actually dating Kevin just yet.. they were still more just.. friends with benefits at this point. Sighing the German ordered a nice big beer and turned his eyes away from the two.

Tate • Michael • O'Ballivan ♣ Revving up the engine and riding through town seemed like a solid idea as far as Tate was concerned, but Amanda had been on his a** since gettin on Island to find a job. The local watering hole had seemed like a good place to hit up, local talk was that the boss lady was fair and if you could do your job then you could appreciate what was going on around you. Parking his bike nearby Tate made sure it would stay where it was and then ducked in the door. Moving the usual aviator shades up so he could see in the sudden darkness Tate realized that he certainly wasn't at home anymore. 'Manda's gonna have a field day if I can't wear the usual style. She's gonna raid the damn stores for anything that will work. Damn. I hate shoppin'. Walking in a bit he looked around and saw a well stocked bar right away, but no one around. "Anybody here? I'm your new 'tender. Name's Tate. Hello?"

-Alice Ladd-
Another year, another set of worries. The mistress had been pacing a good deal in her room this morning before moving to one of the seats in the House. There were a few things on her mind, really, nothing huge, well not right now. Alice sighed slightly as she smoother over the edge of her dress, moving her hand to the arm of the seat and drumming her fingers along it quite quickly. It was quiet for now, not a soul to be found-Oh? Looks like their new worker was here. When Bela and Keith left, it had been a bit tough to maneuver the first nights. Any business would with half their staff gone, not to mention Walter was a real help. Ah life, it had some unexpected twists to deal with. Luckily they hired two more girls, and Alice was pretty glad one of then had been Integra. Now they had another bartender. "Looks like you're in a bit early" commented Alice as she stood up from her seat and walked over to the bar. "Alice Ladd, your boss. Welcome to the Grind-House" she added, quite nonchalantly to cover up the worries that befell her just a minute ago.

Tate • Michael • O'Ballivan ♣ Tate felt slightly out of place without a hat to tip. Nodding his head in greeting though he sized the woman up. Tough but fair seems like it was dead on." 'Lo there Ms. Alice." Tate stuck a hand out to shake her hand in greeting, then put it back at his side once the hand shaking deal had been done. At her passing comment about being early he shuffled his feet slightly, "I figured that if there was anything that you needed me to know 'bout bein' on the job I should find it out before gettin' thrown on the spot beginn' of shift. I figure your fair, but I wanted to be sure if things got hectic I didn't resemble an idiot." Smiling he bright smile Tate became more comfortable in the place now that he had said his bit. "I guess I should be askin' if you'd like a drink ma'am."

"Bonjour Mon Cherie~" Pip called out as he burst through the doors. It was a ncie day out, he got to head to work where his beautiful gal was. He was deadly in love with her, and completely oblivious to ANY worry that was going to come his way. He had a cute stuffed animal in his hands as the Frenchman came up to Alice. "Ah. Bonjour Monsieur. Im Pip t'e bouncer. Is 'e our new bartender?" Pip said to Michael before turning his one eye on Alice and pointing a thumb at the man. "O' t'is is for you Mademoiselle." Pip said as he handed Alice the bear, only to lean in and sneak a kiss from her lips. ___ "Pip it is too early for lovey dovey stuff." Integra said with a gentle sigh. "Hello Alice." Integra waved gently. "Sorry were early i know. He couldnt wait, i thought he was going to explode at home if he didnt give you the gift. Not like im sure you dont have enough of them." Integra laughed lightly. She then looked to Michael. "Hello Im one of the strippers. Integra, nice to meet you." She said as she held out her hand for the man to shake a smile on her lips.

Alice had to smile slightly at the man. He had made a pretty decent impression. Then again Alice was very lenient on a lot of things... "Good to know you're clear on that. Well there's not much to say aside then be prepared to handle pressure on some days, mostly on festival nights. And for the love of anything, no getting drunk during work hours" she stated, Walter had given her enough surprises with that. "Actually-" Alice didn't get that far to reply before Pip and Integra came in. A frown came for just a split second, then disappearing when the Frenchman was close. "Good day to you Pip" she greeted. "Yes he is, I trust you play nice." Hopefully some banter would make her feel better. Oh no. No, no, no, no... oh damn it. The brunette took the bear handed to her, letting that kiss be sneaked away. Not today. "It's Pip. What do you expect Integra?" replied the woman, trying to keep that smile up, though it clearly seemed force, until it finally succumbed to a small frown. "It's really nice though..." she added, stroking the head of the stuffed toy gently. Oh this wasn't making it any easier.

"Oui. Of course." Pip said with a smile to the man. He looked back to Alice and watched her reaction to his present. "What is wrong Mon Cherie?" Pip asked gently. He could tell that smile was forced, there wasnt that cheerful look in Alice's eyes. " Did i do somet'ing wrong? I..""Yes your interrupting her talk with the new worker." Integra said as she grabbed hold of Pips arm and tugged him away. "You can talk with her later. Come, help me get dressed for tonight." Integra said as she led Pip upstairs to where Bela's room had been, Integra was just using it as a dressing/private room. Nothing too out of the ordinary. She wasnt living there. Pip was a bit put off. What had he done? Or hadnt done? Oh! Maybe he forgot something. Was today a special day of some sort? No.. no... hm...

"Ah..." Alice sighed lightly, quite thankful Integra had taken the man away for now. She had some thinking to do, but right now there was the Grind-House to think on, and she had a new employee quite possibly wondering on some things. "Well" continued the woman clearing her throat. "Those are your co-workers. You shouldn't have a problem with them. We're missing two more though." A bartender that was an NPC by now and a stripper that tended to spend her time at the bar more than anything. Not to mention the bouncer was her boyfriend but that was something to explain at a later time. "We should be opening soon. Why don't you take the time to see where everything's at in the bar? I can tell you where most of the items are at... I think. If you need anything, let me know, all right?"

Tate • Michael • O'Ballivan ♣ As Ms. Alice was talking about when it would be busy, they were interrupted by a rather enthusiastic Frenchman. The man introduced himself briefly as the bouncer and then made some time with the boss lady. Then he was approached by a rather chesty woman who introduced herself as a stripper. Shaking her had he dipped his head in greeting same as he'd done for the boss lady. "'Lo Ms. Integra, Pip. Nice to meet you both as well." As the three talked, Tate stodd back and let the conversations happen, observing the interactions. When the two walked away he turned back to Alice so they could finish talking. "Well takin' things easy is no problem considering where I'm from. And ma'am drinkin' on the job is not somethin' advisable if one want's to keep a job." At her expression and absent manner though poked at him like cactus spines. "I know it's not really my spot ma'am, but are you alright? Something seems to be amiss at the moment. I guess if you need anythin' just let me know." Ambling his way over towards the bar in a smooth southern walk he began to explore his new work place.
