I just learned something scary. It has to do with Global Warming and it is fool-proof.
Here's a chart I made for better reference.
First let's say that this chart shows the worst case scenarios for whether we take action or not.

It is divided out into two rows- False and true. False meaning there is no global warming and no chance for climate change. True- everything is correct.
Then it is divided into columns. The first being "Yes" we took action towards GCC (Global Climate Change) and "No" meaning we took no action.
In the first scenario GCC turns out to be false but we had already taken action. Going with what the worst case scenario would be we would be in a pickle. With all the cost that we put forth and all the jobs we created to battle GCC it doesn't look good. We can't get that money back and all those jobs are now useless. Millions of corporations will simply flop and billions of people would be out of a job. This all will led to a global depression that would make the depression of the 30's look like a cake walk.
The second scenario is that we took no action but that's okay because it was false anyway. The smile says it all. We're perfectly fine.
The third scenario is that we took action and the doom-sayers were correct. We're still out by a lot of money but that's okay because everyone can still keep there jobs. Smiley face is due.
The fourth scenario is that we took no action and GCC was true. This means catastrophe. Not only will we be in an economic crunch but a social, political, environmental, and health crunch. Lands that were once plentiful are now dust bowls. Sea levels are rising and destroying thousands of cities and killing millions of people. Hurricanes become a regular thing and tragedies like New Orleans are common place. There is war and famine and disease and there is nothing we can do about it because we were so unprepared.
Now let's think of the chart in terms of columns. Column A and B are two different lottery tickets. Keeping with the worst case scenario, let's pick ticket A. Worst case on this ticket is a major global depression. That's a terrible thing that no one wants to go through.
Let's pick ticket B. Worst case in this ticket is the end of the world. The world will still be here and humans will continue but it will be the end of the world as we know it.
Now you have to ask your self which worst case scenario you would prefer.
After studying this it is easy to see that the only answer that we can choose is to take action against GCC simply because the worst case scenario is much less then is we take no action.
