"She won't succeed" Bristan promised. He was almost fearful to go back, now. What if he was trapped again? What if he had to spend his final days there...? And why couldn't Goosie understand just how desperately he wanted to go home?

'I think you should go without me.' Goosie quietly told him, not meeting his eyes. She could see how eager he was to leave and wasn't wanting to argue with that...however, the more she thought about it, the worse she felt. She was a part of this, at least in part by her own decisions...and if they needed someone who could safely navigate the facility, relatively speaking, then she would still have some purpose.

In spite of how noble it was for him to say, she could still feel herself becoming teary-eyed and indignant. 'I-it's not fair!' She told him, her voice bitter and shaky, 'I-I--you should go, but--I-I can't leave them! D-don't make me h-have t-to...I-I should be here!'

"Please... Goosie, they can take care of themselves" Bristan begged."I just don't want to lose you"

Goosie let go of him, wiping at her wet eyes and cheeks with her sleeves and giving a small involuntary sob. She thought about just opening a portal and running through it before he could say anything, but what good would that do except to aggravate things further? She knew that to give her boyfriend the freedom he'd wanted for so long she would have to relent and go with him, but she didn't want to accept that. She took a look back in the direction of the facility before finally bowing her head in a nod, indicating that she would follow.

"Hey... Why you crying? Don't be like that..." Bristan soothed.

'I-I'm fine--' Goosie dismissed, looking pointedly away from him and wiping her eyes again, feeling like a fool now. But thoughts of Phyx and the others they'd met, and imagining Sam winning, or even, Sam losing...knowing she wouldn't be there to help or heal or protect made the knot in her stomach tighten and she hastily added 'L-let's just go' to avoid further breaking down.

He nodded and carried on walking, pausing briefly to kiss her forehead and whisper a 'thank you'.

The girl tearfully followed after him, dawdling a little but trying not to seem utterly miserable. Normally she'd point out that a portal or porting would be a much quicker way to get home, but right now she was still combating with her own lingering thoughts of running back.

Bristan watched her for a while, noting her peculiar behaviour, before he finally spoke."... You really don't want to leave, do you...?"

Goosie looked at him, about to admit that no, she didn't, when she heard a low growling coming from nearby instead. She spun around, taking a step away from the source of the sound and into Bristan. There was little time to react, however, her sudden movement triggering the grolf in hiding to lunge out at the couple. Goosie shrieked loudly, turning around and clinging to Bristan as she threw an improvised DRK dome up around them. The grolf knocked into it fell back with a yelp, snarling.

Aizel thought his heart had stopped when he heard a shriek. His head whipped round to where the noise had come from, and without looking back at Evangeline, he took off, sprinting through the trees.

'I-it's a grolf!' She cried as though that explained everything, looking up as the creature began stalking the circumference of the dome and hastily clinging tighter to him, 'G-gawd, I hate those things.'
