We thinned and transplanted beets, carrots, purple broccoli and kale. We harvested 4lbs of kale and turned it into Kale dip. We harvested and ate our first meal completely from our garden.
Weeded. Weeded some more.
Translated tomatoes.
Weeded even more.

My lettuces all wilted and shriveled away.
I got 3 sandwiches worth of lettuce off of them though, and a couple tiny pieces for my mice, so I gave up and pulled them out, figured I could plant one in one of my now-useless tiny containers and try to let it grow inside near the windows, or possibly in my mouse tank if I can verify it's safe for them to have constant access to.
I also have TWO ENTIRE pea pods growing out of my.....seven pea plants XD
They're also inexplicably shriveling, so hopefully they last long enough for me to get some food from them.
I found a local "demonstration garden" at a Rec Center, full of vegetable plants. The food was all obviously over-ripening and rotting, so I asked inside who got the food, and they essentially told me nobody eats it all, so I sat there and "stole" some peas to snack on while I looked around. I knew I liked fresh peas when I was little, that's why I bought some seeds to grow, but man. Those were amazing. I might just grow carrots and peas next year when I get actual ground to put things in. They seem easy enough, maybe my cucumbers will work too and I can have a third easy thing to grow. I've got some flowers on my 2 plants, though the smaller one is looking awful. Hopefully they make it through.

Had a cookout with my family and that's about it. Would have done it tomorrow on the fourth but despite it being a national holiday i have to work.
My vehicle has become a horror show...we fix one thing that costs 50 bucks...two things break that cost 100 bucks each. So its time to get rid of it because i can't afford to keep dumping money into it every two weeks when something breaks. So i'm just going to sell it to someone who doesn't mind fixing stuff constantly or maybe to someone who just wants a project for themselves. I can't keep it because it takes up almost the entire garage...i'd love to have it as a spare vehicle for a just in case sort of thing but odds are something will break when that happens.
So its getting sold to further fund my dabbles in knifemaking that went from a teensy hobby sharpening knives for friends on occassion to sharpening lawnmower blades for neighbors to making my own knives which is slowly becoming a potential business with self employment as the end goal. Once the truck is out of the garage another batch of knives will be made this one for potential sale so there will be pictures.
In other news it finally cooled off a little bit which is an absolute blessing considering the last week or so its been hot and humid all day every day which for me is a horrible thing because i can't sleep if i'm warm so if my basement lair goes above 68-70 degree's i just toss and turn and end up very grumpy at work.

Heard the family wanted to invite some people over and so I rushed to build that garden bed I've been working little by little over the last few weeks and cleared out the compost pile that was in the corner of my yard that my mom hates and threw all of it into the garden bed.
I found so many worms I was absolutely thrilled! Its only partially composted the leaves and grass are still visible, that tiny pile has ALOT of material, It filled half of the bed, the bed is about a foot tall.
I heard that you can still plant with partial compost. I'm thinking of putting my push peas, sun flowers and maybe water melon in there. But I'm not sure if the pile is too strong or can't support anything yet. Anyone have experience on that?

I went to a family reunion- it made me want to get shitfaced. I worked in my garden- the group I volunteer with is sending someone out to see how we're doing and I'm nervous.

Esiris Yanueh Manually removed a virus from my computer. Which one? I'm not sure. Its name in Zone Alarm came up as "Carla Route Clink" and its execution file was a series of numbers. It set all my browsers to operate through some proxy.

cleaned the airfilter and replaced the spark plug on the lawnmower, photographed my truck so i can sell it, found several 20% off coupons for a local power tool supplier so i'm going to be purchasing a new drill press and bandsaw this weekend. Hopefully my truck sells quickly so i can use the garage again. Oh and i found a couple of job listings for some really nice looking jobs for my mom.

I had a really busy lab day. I plated bacteria and isolated bacteria colonies. I also tested the pH of the samples I collected yesterday. I am getting interesting results for my project.

Ta Lu I...went to work and my Boss told me, we didn't make enough last week and so I'm not getting paid. D: Like esiris said that's illegal. If you are a legit employee (you have a w2 with your employer and you get paid an hourly wage or commission or salary) If you're working for cash under the table or if you're pay is based on commission and you didn't make any sales then your going to have a hard time getting paid. But so long as you are a regular employee and not off the books they have to pay you no matter how crappy the sales were. Otherwise threaten to sue.
