~…Kali…~ I want a girl with lips like morphine!Kali openly pouted. She knew Kendal wasn't trying to neglect her, but still, she'd like some more of the sexy feline's attention. Yet, this is the Muse, and here, business, no matter what the business, is always pleasure. Any New Berliner knew that, so they also knew that any Muse employee was subject to moving around, and keeping busy at the drop of the hat. Sadly, it seemed like that would be tonight for her new favorite feline, and Kali wasn't sure if she'd be able to get time to stay off her job for another night. Damn.

Sairen_Songweaver Ember clears her throat, sending a mental boot kick to the head of her constantly prattling inner monologue and pauses a moment before saying quietly; "So...after hearing that, I'm very curious to hear what the 'fair' news is...?"She can't help it as the corner of her mouth turns up into a tiny smile, Oh please...please... { - Lady Francesca - } Riiiight, and lose control of yourself like you always do? Great idea Brey, way to make a good first impressionFranky was respectfully quiet as Ember replied, keeping her eyes focused on the girl's even as the surface thoughts continued to whisper through her mind. It took willful restraint to suppress the smile that attempted to surface upon hearing the young woman's silent plea. "Well normally it would be good news but you have caught us on the eve of a potentially tremulous situation. As such the usual hostess for our newcomers might be indisposed." Finally allowing the warm smile to form over her lips, her voice softens lightly. "However, I'm sure that Thorne would be more than capable of helping you to settle in. Consider this a temporary hire. Thorne will set you up with quarters here in the Muse and no doubt, introduce you to Marie when she becomes available. If you have any questions during your stay, they will likely have your answer."Lowering her glass to rest upon the small lacquered stand beside the chase, Franky rises from her seat. Pale hands smooth out the fabric of her corset as she continues. "Perhaps after my previous engagements are attended to, perhaps you and I will speak again. See if we can do something about that control issue."

Poetic Lilly ~…Kali…~ I want a girl with lips like morphine!Kali openly pouted. She knew Kendal wasn't trying to neglect her, but still, she'd like some more of the sexy feline's attention. Yet, this is the Muse, and here, business, no matter what the business, is always pleasure. { - Kendal - }
With the phone call taken care of, Kendal snaps the small cell closed and slips it back into the garter strap of her thigh highs. Turning her full attention back to Kali now, the feline gives the redhead an apologetic look. "Sorry about that love.. It gets like this sometimes at the start of the evening," Kendal coos to her, offering Kali another shot. "Somehow over the 12 hour period between dusk and dawn, someone discovers there is something they absolutely need just as soon as the sun sets."
Flipping back her own shot, Kendal shudders lightly as the liquid lava carves a path down her throat. An appeased smile traces her lips and she plops the tequila bottle back on the other side of the bar counter. "Hard liquor is like my morning coffee," she explains, "Takes a few shots to get me going each night."
Her gaze falls back upon Kali, an impish tone lacing into her voice. "So I'm on point for the first half of the night. After that I'll be free. But..." Kendal slides a hand down the counter, a scarlet painted nail coming to trace a slow path down Kali's arm, "if you want, you could come to the back with me while I change into my working attire?"

 ~Ember~
Ember's heart leaps into her throat, the silent pleas inside her head coming to a screeching halt as she fumbles with shocked fingers to keep hold of the delicate stem of the wine glass, and no doubt expensive contents within. Live there? Actually live at The Muse?! It was more then she had hoped for, more then she felt she deserved... Ember's emotions whirled, sparking and twisting inside her. No one had ever been willing to do something of this magnitude for her, had ever been this open and accepting. She bit her lip, processing the notion of settling somewhere for a little while, even if it was temporary...maybe here she might find what she had been longing for for so long, a place to belong, people who might understand what it was like to be...unusual.
She looks up at the Mistress with an almost comical expression of amazement and embarrassment, her fair cheeks turning a disturbingly similar shade as her scarlet hair. The last phrase the Mistress had spoken still resonating in her head...
See if we can do something about that control issue.
How did she....?
Ember sets down the wine glass, certain that if she kept hold of the damn thing it would end up on the floor, and stands as well. She opens her mouth to say something, words fail her and she clears her throat before trying once more, her speech coming in a rush of verbal excitement.
"I...Really? I mean, thank you so much You have no idea...uh," she laughs almost hysterically, "ok you probably do...I mean, Oh hell...what I am inarticulately attempting to say is, I would absolutely love to take you up on your more then generous offer." She gives the Mistress a genuine smile, the effects lighting up her face, clearing away many of the shadow that had lived there for so long. Her honey colored eyes sparkling with emotion and willful determination.
"I won't disappoint you Lady Francesca."

Rikki Tikki Travi ~Freya~She focuses her attention back on Marie and answers her query, her tone sincere, "I feel...something, but I'm not sure what it is. It feels like there is someone in the tapestry looking and studying me as I am him. I can't really describe it. I'm guessing there is a story behind this tapestry." { - Marie - }
"Of course.. isn't there always?" Marie replies, smiling at the remark. "Although, in truth, every piece here has a tale of its own. The Mistress is not easily swayed by beauty alone. There must be something deeper there.. something unique. That is why display time on this floor is so fervently in demand. Vendors know that the Mistress has a reputation for exhibiting only the most sought after of prizes, and that distinction will rub off onto anything that manages to find its way beneath this glass." The last words accented with the light tapping of her finger upon the surface of the display case.

Nova Blancke "Ahhh yes sorry, If it's strong I'll take it. Hell I need it right now. Untill Kendal gets here anyway" He replied whipping away the blood on his chin. «<{› ¤Urban¤ ‹}>»
A single brow arched faintly as the gent casually stemmed the crimson flow going down his chin with a hand, but offered a faint nod of acquiescence, his deft hands already finding a glass. Behind those ruby-hued lenses, Urban's eyes studied the fellow for a brief moment, before a bottle was captured... he looked like the aggressive, masculine type. Combined with the comment of a strong drink, well... tequila it was.
Normally, he would have just reclaimed the bottle Kendal had sniped earlier, but... when the request for a drink was termed by strength, well... Kendal liked her drinks smooth. Instead, an amber-coloured liquid was deftly splashed into the glass, faintly dampening the crystals adorning the rim before settling at the bottom in a golden, swirling pool. That attended, the hearty drink was settled to the bar near the fellow, a shaker and small dish of limes near at hand, before he canted his head faintly, as though recalling...
"As far as I know, Kendal's working the front half of the evening... gives her more time to enjoy White Noise's show," that raspy tenor finally mused, as Urban stowed the bottle away. "Given that, I'd probably guess she's changing into something that... hm... 'brings in the tips', shall we say... and she'll be up here soon."

Everything else will fall into place as it should... in time," Franky reassures her gently. "If my evening appointments can be cleared up relatively quickly, I will send for you later tonight. Otherwise it will have to wait until the morrow. As I am expecting company very soon, I ask that you go with Thorne. She will attend to your more immediate needs."Raising a hand to Ember's face, Francesca lightly brushes a stray hair from the young woman's face. "Welcome to the Muse, child."The touch lasts for only a moment, then she turns to Thorne, giving her helper the faint nod of approval. Now the girl was in her hands.

Ember nods respectfully and says; "Of course, I appreciate you taking as much time as you did to hear me out tonight. I'll make sure I'm easy to find in case things do clear up." She tries to stifle the surprised jump that ricochets through her body when the Mistress's gentle touch lands on her face, her eyes searching those of her new employer. For a brief second Ember leans her cheek into that delicate hand, her eyes half close as a tingling sensation runs through her. Then the moment is gone as Lady Francesca lowers her hand and turns to Thorne. Ember looks at Thorne, a sheepish grin creeping across her face as she waits for whatever business the two need to finish up before she is free to speak with.

The Mistress's nod received a much deeper nod in return, as Thorne slid deftly off the arm of the diva-couch she'd been perched on. Giving Franky a warm smile, and a hint of a farewell curtsy, Thorne turned her attention to the Muse's newest resident, the cheerful look shifting to include Ember, as well. Motioning with a gloved hand, Thorne started to deftly weave her way through the various furniture, artwork, and folks once more, making her way back towards the small elevator beside the stage, pausing at the door to draw a delicate-looking necklace-chain from beneath her shirt... and revealing the small ID-card dangling from it.
"Until we get ya settled into a room, and all your info coded into our system, you'll need to find one of the other employees to get you into the residential areas," Thorne murmured as she slid the card into the tiny slot almost completely hidden by one of the pedestals, before turning back to Ember and offering that warm smile once more. "But, that shouldn't take too long... and it'll give you a reason to get to know some of the other folks around here, neh?"

Perhaps the music calmed him down or perhaps the thought of that nice drink. Most likely a combination of those. A grin appeared on his face and you could see a slight sparkle in his eyes. "Yes, that outfit of hers is a curse for the wallets but a lust for the eyes. I've had the pleasure of seeing her in that outfit before." And I couldn't get her out of my head ever since Moon responded as he reached out to grab the drink. First thing he did was take in the nice aroma of the drink. Not many people did it but his sense of smell is greatly above normal. The grin changed into a smile. This is a good drink. Moon gave the bartender a slight nod of gratitude."Thank you, if it tastes as good as it smells then you'd hands of gold when it comes to making drinks." Instead of taking small sips Moon took larger ones and just let the amber liquid slide down his throat. Warming it up as it descended. Yeah that man did have hands of gold.

She trotted to catch up, not wanting to get lost on her first day in the maze that was The Muse. The desire to stare at the beautiful furniture and artwork was squashed by the excitement that reverberated through her whole body, the idea of her new situation still making her head spin. She nods, peering at the interesting key card and says; "Cool, I can do that." She grins back and ponders a moment before continuing, "Is there anywhere that I uh...probably should steer clear of for now?"[[I had to pause mid-post to stop my own giggle fit, hehe.]]

~Freya~Freya can't help but wonder what sort of woman Lady Francesca really is. The way everyone in the club talks about her, they revere her like some type of savior or messiah. She wants to believe that the mistress is a just person who has the best intentions in mind for the denizens of the Muse. Yet she can't allow herself to accept it just yet. She had seen similar situations many times, and they usually ended with her knife at the "savior's" throat. Pushing those thoughts aside for the moment, Freya gazes curiously at beyond the glass that Marie is tapping on, taking a step closer. She addresses Marie without looking at her, "So what is it about this one that makes it so...unique?"

Sairen_Songweaver She nods, peering at the interesting key card and says; "Cool, I can do that." She grins back and ponders a moment before continuing, "Is there anywhere that I uh...probably should steer clear of for now?" «<{› ¤Thorne¤ ‹}>»Shaking her head, a soft laugh emerging, Thorne gently tugged Ember into the elevator with her, her fingers stabbing one of the nine unmarked buttons. A soft, bell-like tone emitted from the small bank of buttons, and the doors slid shut; not soundlessly, instead, more of a sudden absence of the sounds of the club making the silence seem almost loud. With a faint pulse of movement, the device began it's upward ascent, as Thorne turned to the Muse's newest resident.
"Nah, the only spots you'll have access to even when you get your IDent-Card will be the public floors, and the third floor, until we figure out where you'll be working, and ya pass the probation period," Thorne replied, settling herself against one of the well-polished metal bars encircling the dark, wood-paneled interior. "Nice thing about this system, there's no chance of some random person wandering into our private areas, like the third floor."
Pausing for a moment, a thoughtful look crossed Thorne's pale, expressive features... and was followed by a faintly sheepish look, a rueful grin being aimed in Ember's direction. "I gotta warn you, though... third floor is the residential floor. It's where most of us live, heh... and Mistress doesn't mind much how cluttered we keep it, as long as it's easy to move around and find people. Thus warned, it's a tad bit of a mess..."
