Kimiko's two remaining Shadow clones and herself were no leaped to the air as the woman jumped up after them to engage them, her eyes still seething after defeated her other clone. This woman was powerful, not just anyone could take out one of her clones in one shot... she could hold back in this battle...this was an all or nothing fight. Had that wind technique hit her, she'd be in bad shape, or at best down another Shadow clone. It was all or nothing her...

"Hey lady." the real Kimiko said suddenly dawning a determined frown. "Was that supposed to be a Grand fire ball?" she and her shadow clones had already gone through the hand signs, the woman's preparation to continue her attack halted as realization hit her. "Hn," Kimiko's face broke into a somewhat confident, if subdued, smile. "that's the first real Jutsu I ever learned...and it's done like THIS!!!" As one, the three Kimiko's around the woman in the air let loose a blazing inferno, the three massive blasts of fire coming from their lips and coelecing into a globe around the woman, the fire fusing into a raging and shifting torrent of flame...

Mai was frozen. Frozen even as she burned. The sheer power of this jutsu surpassed even her own...and the girl's clones were able to use it simultaneously. Un...believable. She fought to retain her focus, battled to break free of the storm of chakra born fire around here. The pain was intense but with an earth shaking battle cry the woman ripped free of the fires, her eyes wild and ready for war as grasped twin kunai in her hands, ready for blood... only for her eyes to see a brief example of some of the finest swordsmen ship she'd ever seen...

She'd seen Lord Senkyo at work once...and that was the only thing she could compare these two solitary strokes too. In an instant ever as the blazing fire she'd unleash broke apart and fell as wisps of fire and sparks down to the pavement below...two masterful strokes fell as the girl swept by her in the air...and crimson blossomed from her torso...

She fell to the ground barely catching herself before collapsing, a cry of shock and humiliation covering her face as she struggled to get. "Ah...you...insolent...Tokojin! I need..." but her eyes fell on her partner...and his own still form. No...no... it...wasn't possible. Tokojin couldn't be gone just like...just like that. Were these kids...really such monsters...? It was like a dream... a horrible dream. It was like Oto had born these two for the purpose of conjuring a nightmare...a horrible vision to strike fear into even a Knight of the Otobe clan's heart... as her consciousness faded...she swore to herself that if she lived...she would make Oto pay for this. These children...they were mere weapons...crafted for a singular intent...it was this rotten village which made them...and it would suffer for it...suffer...for...

Kimiko sheathed her blade behind her back with an effortless flourish, landing alongside her Shadow clones as they turned to Maboroshi, only to find that he'd already dealt with the other as well, though she looked a little taken aback by this. The man was dead. True, she wouldn't put it passed Maboroshi to kill an enemy, far from it, but he generally used his Lightning jutsu to kill that swiftly, and she'd not seen a sign of it. True she'd been battling the other Knight at the time, but Maboroshi's lightning jutsu weren't subtle, and his genutsu didn't actually kill people... had he really done that with jutsu his senbon...? She gave her companion a slightly questioning look. Maboroshi really was scary when he didn't hold back...

"Kimiko..."

Kimiko's face seemed to turn still further clueless at the look on her friend's face. He was gravely serious. Normally Maboroshi didn't look directly at her like that... whenever he made that face he was taking in a threat or a dangerous situation... looking directly at her with that face was...unnerving. Not frightening, no, but unnerving.

Any conflict Xenon had on the issue was gone with the death of those two knights. Any hesitation on the matter, had vanished. He was not going to allow Kimiko to throw her life away in this battle which was already lost... he was not going to let it happen...again. Even if, he reminded himself somewhat grimly, it apparently hadn't happened the first time round. regardless...he wouldn't lose her to this...

"I'm going..." Xenon's words were resolved. A tone sharper then any blade, and a will within it more resolute than steel.

Kimiko's face suddenly turned back into a look of anger, but that wasn't all. There was a shadow of...hurt, betrayal, behind her wrath. "So what!?" she challenged, gesturing around them. "You're just going to run away!? You...you're just going to abandon this village after everything?! Just like that?!" her face was looking more and more hysteric "I thought that you'd changed! I thought that when it counted you'd come through like you always do! But I guess I was wrong, huh?! FINE!!" she gripped her Katana's sheath as she turned towards the center of the village. "Go...run away... i'm going to-" her eyes widened into surprise once more however as, when she turned, Maboroshi had flickered in front of her.

-15 cp

"Kimiko..." Xenon's expression hadn't shifted, it was still the same set in stone gaze. "I'm not going to let you do that." a shadow seemed to fall over his eyes. "I'm going...and you're coming with me."

Kimiko's expression went to hesitation for a moment, before her anger and shock melted away to sorrow. "Maboroshi...I can't...leave them all. Raine, Dash-sensei...can you really just abandon them?"

"For you? Yes."

Kimiko's face went red with shock. The blunt nature of the statement, the complete lack of his usual sarcasm or irony...it was...so absolute. No hesitation at all. Kimiko head seemed locked up for a moment, before thoughts began to flow properly again. "You...but..."

Xenon adjusted his glasses, his eyes still hidden behind their glare. "Even if you did go back, do you remember what I said earlier? The civilians are already captured. Would you keep fighting with their lives on the line?"

"But we can at least try and rescue Dash and Raine and..."

"Don't you think that if that was likely I would be allowing it? Kimiko this battle is nearing it's final curtain, and if we're still in the village when it falls the Otobe will have us. To be perfectly honest we don't have the luxury of trying to protect our friends right now." he titled his head up. "even if you could somehow manage to find them...what do you think will happen if you run someone like Senkyo...do you think we could win?" Kimiko seemed...appeased, that he was including himself in that scenario, on some small level. "Or the one who defeated Lord Kasuke...do you suppose we'd be a match for someone like that?"

Kimiko's will was slowly eroding as she sank more and more into accepting sorrow. "...no..."

Xenon sighed. "Kimiko... I realize this goes against your...questionable belief system."

The girl sent him a slight frown as if to say "this is not the time".

"-but..." he looked her in the eye, his golden eyes clearly visible behind the lenses now. Contrary to what she'd been assuming...they seemed...softer, then usual. "Is it so much to ask for you be selfish for once...? Is it too much to ask, that for all the times I've played the hero for your sake..." he gave a slightly weak smile. "That you could be selfish and live, for mine...?"

Kimiko's face seemed nonplussed, her eyes slightly moist as she stared her oldest friend. "..." she couldn't say anything, her throat didn't seem to want to move... it felt like there were two different forces inside of her, pulling her in opposite directions. She had to protect Oto...she couldn't run away...she had to be a selfless heroine and fight to the end against injustice... she had to defeat them even if it killed her...

But...

Within her, the battle was won. One of the two forces crushed the other under foot as, still seemingly catatonic, filled with internal conflict, Kimiko gave a nod, grabbing Xenon's hand as though she was suddenly in a dream-like state.

Xenon himself looked slightly surprised now, not having expected that to actually...work. He'd been planning on having to force her, to make her flee to safety...but... his mind snapped back to the situation at hand. Clasping Kimiko's hand tight in his own he turned and whistled, Medusa leaping down from the rooftops above where she'd been waiting in case she was needed. The Snake summon taken human form looked a little taken aback by Kimiko's...compliance, as well, even as Xenon noted. "Come on. We've got to get out of the village, fast."

"Yes, Xenon-sama." the snake bowed, her figure following his and Kimiko's as they dashed off down the street, the very direction the enemy had been coming from. The battle for Oto was over, for them at least...

As they fled the village limits, and, unofficially, began their lives as Missing Ninja, Kimiko continued to look distant, her eyes looking at Xenon as though she'd never properly seen him before. Perhaps she was merely realizing that, deep down, she and Maboroshi were not so different after all... even more so then she'd already come to feel it.

She'd been angry at him...angry that he was willing to throw their duty and obligation to keep fighting away...even if it was to keep them both safe...but in the end, when he'd asked her...she had been willing to do the exact same thing. She could feel it in her heart as soon as he'd truly earnestly asked if of her. Even if she stayed to fight, after that request, her heart would no longer be with her. But then...

Her first taste of War changed Kimiko Momoe...but not in the way one might expect...

Senkyoku Otobe
~The Black Sonata~

Senkyo was standing at the gates to the village looking rather nervous, his generally childishly innocent persona in full swing as he fidgeted with the picture in his hand. Okay...he could do this... it was a really simple assignment. He just had to find this girl and her dad and escort them to Orikami-senpai. No problem. Er...or...should he call him Otokage-sama now? Or maybe Clan Head-sama? He wasn't really sure which title took precedence...

He seemed to snap himself back into his thoughts. Oh yeah, he needed to focus... find the girl. She was supposed to be arriving...right? Or was she...he really wished he'd been paying less attention to Chishio's unnecessary attempts to grope him and more to what the briefing had been...anyway, wasn't this supposed to be her kind of job? She was the public affairs person now right...? Well this was in public! And Senkyo was most certainly NOT suited for this kind of in public work! He was MUCH more at home when he wasn't supposed to be seen...or...well, when they just sort've pointed him at things they wanted to stop moving for ever and ever... either one of those. He didn't really know how to handle escorting someone...

What would Xen-san do...?

....Run away from the village so as not be put under the new rule of his slightly tyrannical clan.

Dang it! He couldn't do that! That wouldn't help his situation at all!

He adapted a slightly solemn expression. He wondered if Xen-san and Kimiko-san were...okay, now...

Urza walked towards the village on a dirt road. Dust now lightly coated the once gleaming armor from her calf down. The town looked almost as impressive as the great open fields. Something about the way ninja lived seemed so different. Everything was wooden and steal. Urza's father had told her stories of the Knights homeland. He said it was covered in everything from forests to deserts, dotted with great plains of golden grains. The building were made of of great stone and iron. Delicate colored glass projected myths and legends of the great earth god. Somehow even in this land of magic and wood and steel Urza had never felt so proud to be a Knight.

As the two Knights got ever closer to the town Urza spotted a person at the gate. The young blonde looked up to her dad, so see what the appropriate course of action was. Taki had had its own gate watchers, but she had never approached as an outside force. She was unsure how to act in the current situation, so she just followed the lead of her father. Head held high, unwavering confidence, and a pride of self.

Two members of the secret police, their long black cloaks fallen around them, looked off down the road to the village vigilantly, their cold faces and dutiful stance the very picture of the unwavering sentinel. They had been watching the figures approach for some time, but they waited for them to get close enough to the gate before addressing them.

"Halt." said the one of the left as both maintained their stance, though beneath their cloaks the hand cuffs they were recently infamous for utilizing clinked in their hands. "Otogakure is closed to all without official business."

The one to the right's eyes narrowed. "We are authorized to use excessive force, present your papers or leave immedia-"

"Ah! That's her!" The voice sounded like it was coming from a child, the light and innocently pleased tone in it sounding rather harmless...but as soon as it was heard from behind the two hardened member's of Oto's new ANBU equivalent, they froze, looks of alarm coming over their faces. From behind the two men a rather fidgety, if earnest looking, youth emerged from the shadow of the village gates, his smile nervous, but welcoming. "You're the one I'm supposed to be waiting for right?...Right...? Right." he seemed to be speaking to himself as he nodded. "It's uh...nice to meet you." he smiled and nodded.

"L-Lord Senkyo." both of the secret police fell to one knee, tipping their hat's down slightly in a show of respect. Though you would never know it to look at him, the young man now before them was a Knight of Forte, an Elite Jounin of the the Otobe clan... and even amongst even them he was particularly noted for his...well, there was really no better way to say it. His body count. The moniker "Black Sonata" was not a title he chose for himself...

Senkyo seemed to ignore the officers. They're were so many of them all over the Kage building, where he spent most of his time, that they just started to blur into the scenery for him. "Oh, um." he seemed to remember, looking a tad more nervous, as though he had made an error. "I guess I should do this properly." he cleared his throat. "Names?" he inquired to the young girl and her father, both looking like proper knights, the very one's that the Otobe Clan had honored and chosen to name their internal ranks after.

User ImageUrza was taken a back as a voice called out for her to stop. She hadn't even noticed the two in black cloaks standing guard. Quickly Urza's guard went up, her muscles tensed and her hand made its way towards the blade at her waist. But almost the instant she thought about drawing her she felt her father brush against her arm and she withdrew her offensive. Such an unwelcoming force to be greeted with. Just as Urza had thought that her and her fathers journey had been over, and here they were being turned away. Urza looked at her father, at the mention of excessive force a glint flashed through his eye, he was ready to fight if need be, there was no turning back for the two of them. But right before violence broke out another man burst onto the scene. He didn't seem like much but the way that the guards reacted Urza was sure he was something much much more.

Urza was still so confused from the earlier tension she almost missed what the man said. "I do believe so, yes?" The young girl was still unsure how to handle herself in such social situations. "It's good to meet you too." The way of the ninajs social interaction was still a thing of mystery to Urza, but perhaps with time it would all make more sense.

Urza had must not have been paying attention because when she snapped back into reality she caught only the end of what the man had asked. Luckly the girls father had been paying more attention and responded for the two of them. "I am Jellel Tanku Melinora, and this is my daughter Urza Tanku Melinora." Jellel's voice was strong and prideful, like the roar of a lion. Urza wanted to have a voice like that one day.

Senkyoku Otobe
~The Black Sonata~

Senkyo seemed slightly encouraged by their noble demeanor and the fact they weren't berating him for his greeting...it probably could have been better, all things considered. Senkyo was stood in his usual hunched posture, as though he was arguably one of the most insecure people on the face of the planet. "Very good." he said confirming their names. "Okay, um...next is..." he seemed to be putting it together in his head. "Oh, right." he smiled again. "Follow me please, Orikami-senpai...er, Otokage-sama, is expecting you." Senkyo turned towards the officsers on either side of the gate. "It's okay, they're here on official business."

"As you say, Lord Senkyo." both officers allowed them to pass without even a further ill glance, their faces passive once more as they merely continued to look down the road ahead as they had before.

Senkyo smiled at his escortee's as he gestured for them to follow him passed the gate's. "Sorry about Hisoka-san's people...they can be kind've uptight. Or...that's what Kyojin-san says..." he seemed to think to himself for a moment. "Oh... um...welcome to Otogakure...and stuff like that." he gave a slightly nervous laugh. "I'm not really good at greeting people. Sorry. Otokage-sama will probably do a much better job then me. Though I guess... if you have any questions feel free to ask." his smile turned bright as he led them off towards the central square of the village, and the Kage building, the flag of the Otobe high above it beside the banner of the Hidden sound itself...

User ImageUrza sighed a breath of release as the man confirmed that they were indeed supposed to be there. She had been worried for a bit that they would be unwelcome in this foreign land, and it would have been a shame to have a journey of training and knowledge to fall so quickly into conflict. The young girl looked at the two guards who had been so quick to instigate with force return to their melancholy pose. She couldn't blame them, they were just doing there job trying to keep the village safe. It was a noble job, and they were doing it quite well. Urza still didn't like being pushed around like that.

Jellel pushed Urza a bit urging her on as Lord Senkyo, as the guards had called him, beckoned them through the gates. Could it be true this man was a lord? Lords from the Knight homeland were the wealthy patrons that owned the lands and grand castles. Could this man truly be a lord... He looked so young. Much younger than her father, and he wasn't even a lord. Perhaps that was what had put the guards so on edge, this man was surely much more powerful than his timid self let on.

As they neared the center of the village Urza spotted a particular sight. Two flags waived proudly over the Kage building. One she instantly recognized was the music note that denoted the village of hidden sounds, the other she had never seen before. Perhaps it would all be explained in a bit.

After a bit of walking Alucard slowly walked through the gates, as he had gotten directions from the guards up at the front for he did not know his way around. Getting a map, he had started to head towards where he was told to go. He looked foreign because of some of his clothes, and also a few distinct looks that were about him. Being stared at Alucard walked a little faster as he didnt want to be bothered by people within the city. Avoiding people as he walked, there seemed to be a lot of people he kept weaving through, for he had mistakenly taken a wrong turn and found himself in the market areas. After a few minutes of him walking around Alucard was stopped by a merchant that wanted to show him some supplies he had. Waving the merchant off he kept walking for some of the merchants thought he looked like he was here for important business because he did look old enough to deal with business, also his clothes did not help with his look on this matter. As he got to the end of the street his stomach growled as he was hungry after smelling all the food also from not eating nothing.

After finally getting out of the crowds Alucard, had went and rested in a ally for he was fully lost. "Dammit, how can i get lost in this city, where did that map go," mumbling under his breath as he searched himself, but was not finding it, sitting back against the wall he sat there very frustrated. "I am sure, i cant get around much more with jus this note," he had said as he was sitting there slightly hitting the wall gently, so he wouldnt hurt himself, he kept grumbling as his accent was coming through well. When he finally looked up he watched the clouds go by slowly as he sat there in the ally thinking for a while. "Why does this always happen to me?" he asked as he slowly closed his eyes.

Hisoka Otobe
~Director of the Secret Police~

There was a slight chill in the air as the pair of cloaked police agents gazed off over the heads of the crowd at the young man they were tailing, their normally passive faces adapting a somewhat strained expression. They could feel his presence behind them without even looking.

"Well...? Has he done anything of significance?"

The two officers stayed rigid, the cold, deep voice coming from behind them monotone as it ran up their spines and held them fast. The Director's very presence tended to be unnerving...no, somewhat frightening...

"No sir. He appears to be lost." the first officer informed in a whisper.

"He doesn't appear to be of hostile intent sir. It's as you suspected. Given his apparent skill level the odds of him being a spy are practically negligent."

The masked man, his black coat blending him into the shadows of the alley ever so faintly, seemed to be watching the boy intently from across the way. "...I see...that will be all."

"Sir?"

I will handle this myself."

"Are...are you certain Director?"

The silence that answered them seemed almost more terrifying then any sharp retort, as though questioning him was such a foolish thing he refused to acknowledge one of his soldiers could have been so moronic. Without giving them further instruction, the masked man merely threw up the hood of his jacket. Moving out into the crowd, his mask only barely visible now under the shadow of hood, the man's chilling presence seemed lost on the surrounding people, save a flash of alarm, a hiss of inexplicable paranoia, and one poor soul who caught a glimpse under the hood who seemed to stop dead in his tracks, color draining from his face for a reason he couldn't fully understand.

It was the normal humans response to something such as what Hisoka was, a weapon, crafted and perfected for the sole purpose of filling the needs and secret defenses of the Otobe...and now, by extension, the village hidden in the sound and every soul in it. He was the wall they did not see, the sword that cut down the enemies they never knew existed, and the shield that cast off the blow's they would never see coming. He was like a ghost among them...and that... that was how it should be.

Yet he stopped before the boy that that had settled himself beside the alley wall, standing by a few moments while the boy gazed up at the clouds, waiting for him to notice him. Finally, when it seemed he had been seen, Hisoka slowly lifted up his hood, just enough for the boy to see his masked facade.

"Mister Witsum, I presume." Hisoka's even emotionless voice showed no sign of anything, it was like the steel of sharpened blade. "Tell me...what bring you to Oto?" It was a question that suggested Hisoka already knew the answer...but he wanted to hear it from the boy's own mouth.

Looking at the man with one eye, he looked the man up and could already sense he himself would die if he did something stupid. Standing slowly up, Alucard nodded as Hisoka had addressed him by his last name. "i.i am Witsun," saying as his accent had come through alot as he tried to pronounce some of the words correctly. "I.i am getting Used to the l.language still," he said as he was having trouble over some of the words. "But my p..purpose is this," he said as he pulled out a small note on it that had a few strokes of words, that said to admit him to the academy and to train him, only name under it was Shadow. Alucard didnt know what most of the words were on the note, all he knew was the shadow word on there. "T.th.at is my p.purpose," He had said as he looked up to the eyes of Hisoka. A chill went down his spine finally but, he didnt budge as he looked into Hisuke's eyes.Knowing he should remain calm he figured this person was some for of authority in the city for the man had addressed him by last name. 'Wonder who this is, and wonder if i am in trouble,' he thought to himself as he kept as calm as he could as his right arm slightly moved from him being a bit nervous as he did not feel right. As Alucard was thinking and standing there his stomach grumbled slightly, trying to not say anything else he waited for a response.
