Asmondai Kaori Kapoigne [img]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/Oliebollen.jpg[img] eek 4laugh heart Oh, the sacrifices we make for the greater good. I want a few of those so badly right now, ******** maple leafs. Quote: I´ve seen the Stalker movie. 3nodding Man is it weird and pretty slooooow..... sweatdrop What´s even weirder is that it´s on 2 DVD´s and I have to swap the disks to watch the entire movie. The heck....??? @.@ I've heard a lot about this one, especially the anomalies and how it influenced the game. Not bad for a movie from the 60's IIRC.

The movie was based off the book. The movie is a great piece of cinema. Everything starts out grey and as they go into "the zone" and further in everything becoems more colourful and vibrant.
Essentially the movie is about 3 guys looking for a "Wish Granter" they have to follow the guides exact foot steps through the zone. Not a whole lot of danger in it as compared to the game which takes the concept a different direction than the movie/book does though.

Sir Kyle Aziz Essentially the movie is about 3 guys looking for a "Wish Granter" they have to follow the guides exact foot steps through the zone. Not a whole lot of danger in it as compared to the game which takes the concept a different direction than the movie/book does though. It can either mean the game wouldn´t have been interesting and that much different from other games at the time with just the movies anomalies, or they expanded on the concept, which I think may have been a case in this one. 3nodding Lt. Brookman I've heard a lot about this one, especially the anomalies and how it influenced the game. Not bad for a movie from the 60's IIRC. It is a pretty good movie, visual style is nice and has some atmosphericness to it. It´s abit slow-paced, but I quess it´s part of the whole experience.Kaori Kapoigne 1: Find Strelok. 2: Kill Strelok. Game: Oh and do these 300+ side quests while your at it. And do try to avoid deadly anomalies, beasts and other evil humans while your at it, have fun. :3

(Movie obviously taking from the book as the script writers were the book's authors.) Where as the Stalker game takes the concept of "The Zone" and runs with it in a different direction. As opposed to aliens creating The Zone, it was humanity tampering with things they shouldn't be. As seen by the 'second' explosion from the CNPP which created The Zone. The 'Wish Granter' idea is obviously straight from the movie, and the anomalies and other unexplainable phenomena are more in line with ideas from the novel but Stalker the game kind of turns everything grim dark.

Yeah I agree on that one, was expecting alittle more from it another then nostalgic Unreal-ish game. sad If I want a mindless splatter-fest on xbox, I´ll just play Bulletstorm. 3nodding
