Exxos Kujujuwa Oh man did work ever suck today... for all the normal "work sucks" reasons too. SO that's all I am going to complain about. smile Decided to work up a little cosplay with my avi tonight, and I'm almost considering entering it in the arena but it's more of a Zelda inspired then an actual Zelda cosplay. And I'm sure avis like mine have been in the arena about a mazillion times. It's the best damn Zelda I have ever seen on gaia though. I am thinking we need an AGA avatar contest, that way a non-cheating scumbag (i.e.; one of us) wins it. Simple screencap avatar, 1000 gold in, vote at the end of the month, winner takes the pot, if their is a tie, pot rolls over to next competition. Would you all like just a general avy contest or prefer something with a theme? Holiday themes would be easy (Halloween, New Years, etc) but other times we could do cosplay themes or design something around specific items.

Exxos Bi-monthly is also an option since the holidays we'd probably want to do are near the ends of even months (i.e.; Halloween Oct. 31, Christmas Dec. 25). We don't have to write anything in stone so on some months we could do more than one. I think in general though, once per month should be plenty. And I don't see any reason not to just let the holiday ones run a full month even when they fall at the end of the month. Since you initiated this Exxos - would you like to run the contests? Or would you prefer to be able to participate in them. wink

I like Exxos' suggestion about paying into it (1,000?) and then winner takes all. Or do you think that would deter too many people from participating? I could have our AGA-PAT3000 maybe match the funds? Anyway, why don't you come up with how you want to run it and then we can work out the details in pms smile Oh and yes - I love your mermaid look Exxos smile

The community pot part also has a certain fairness to it. Since in the gaia-wide arena, you pay you 5000 in and only stand to win what now? 50,000? Where did all the rest of the gold go?
So if you only had to pay in a fifth of that and you knew that all of the pot was going to a friend, it takes a wicked amount of the sting out of it.
But still, if 1,000 is too high, that's cool (I know I rarely have more than 500 gold to my name, hehe), I just threw 1,000 out there because it seemed like a nice, round number.

I also agree on the themed contests being easier. As for the $1000 entry fee that seems fair to me.
@Exxos, I too like the mermaid look. Very cute.
