Got a damn virus that tries to get me to buy some fake anti-virus program and also shuts down pretty much any program I attempt to brig up, claiming it's infected.

I remember that one. it's annoying as hell. Requried a full system restoration to get rid of it.

I've seen those BS redirects to virus scanning pages.
It's amazing how it can pick up a maximum risk threat right off the damn bat that no other anti-virus ever finds.
I just back out of the page and not do anything. I don't even let it try to finish loading the page, because as soon as I X out the pop-up message, I immediately backtrack to where I was.
