"Uh...huh.." She furrowed her brow and looked for a way out.
And then he disappeared, which kind of freaked her out. She flopped the book down on the table and put her back against it, looked around. "Hey now...that's not funny..."

She no longer struggled against her assultant.
There was no skin on her wrists anymore, the shackles had worn it all away. Her shouldersm back, buttock, thighs, calves, and heals were much the same, rubbed raw, blistering, bleeding...and was now infected from lack of proper treatment. She kept her eyes closed, except when they were forced open; they throbbed from being unsed to light, tears gummed on her eyelashes, soemtimes mercifully glueing them closed. Finger like scars, some fresh, some old, all of it red and inflamed, stretched across her abdomen. Her muscles were so stiff that they locked, any movement on her own was excrutiating, any outside influence even more so.
She had ceased to move when possible. Why? Why was she still alive? Couldn't he let her die now?
That small shred of hope had been snuffed like a reluctant candle. How many times had she rejoiced to hear the voices of her freinds...to see them...only for them to turn on her and assult her? She was begining to blend the reality of her prison with the reality of her memories. She could no longer distinguish between the personalities of her abusers and her freinds.
And always, there was something very wrong with them...with her freinds...with those people....that she could not pinpoint.

Gee thanks Malik, top on more guilt. Piper sighed lightly, sitting down in her usual chair and getting herself some food to the standards that Malik liked. If she had to force herself then she just would, now wouldn't she? "Sorry...I didn't mean it that way...I just..." Shut up while you're ahead of yourself Piper. Sure she could argue many a thing about is 'past is all we have' statement, but cared not to get into a fight where she could upset him. Then he had to go into seriously speaking on children again...which she had been quiet on lately. Though looking up from her food at him she blinked, letting her head tilt lightly. "Enhancement as in what..." Because Innoruuk knew the things that went on in Malik's head could be a little...over the top.

and a hand reached out, slowly, deliberatly..and grabbed her ankle.
"Gotcha!"
"I know you didn't. It's just a...hard thing to let go of. I may have hated my father's lack of attention, I may have hated Neriak's politics..but they were what I had. But I do suppose your right. this is in essence a clean slate. there's no Neriak here, no Cymarron, no past. Perhaps it is time to close the part of my life, and let it remain just the past."
Gears were already working the second she gave a bit of leeway for that discussion.
"Well. take Zahara for example. She almost guarenteed to be with child after today. I took some..precautions to ensure a higher fertility rate. I could do the same for you. there are tonics, potions if you will, that as odorless and tasteless. they have to be considering the society, that can up the odds considerably of producing children. Some females, particularly those of low standing, use them so they can have many children, and increase the odds of one becoming something worthy of good social standing."
A small smirk.
"like a woman who bears many sons, may take it to try and increase her odds of bearing a daughter. with the lower rate of birth on Fier'dal, and Koada'dal races..it may put your fertility at near the same level as a normal Tier'dal."
then a lean back.
"And there are other methods. the technology may be...questionable here, but there is that interesting prospect of what humans in Aurahkah's plane called 'artificial insemination'."

"It's not that you have to close it off...just let go of the parts that are anthema to the here and now." Elvish Gods knew she had her own troubles with her past, though it was the opposite of Malik's. He held on too much, she never held on to enough. Eh opposites attract, they were counter balancing each other. Though she saw those wheels in his head going the moment she confirmed she would tolerate a discussion on the limitations of her kind. WHen you lived on the surface and didn't kill each other off on purpose, there was just no need to be able to mass reproduce. Though there was a frown over what he had done to Zahara, though she didn't open her mouth on the subject and let him contiune. Now his plan sounded good...but here was the kickback...she wasn't drow. Sure they were all elves, but they were still sub race specific. Who knew what reactions could take place. "Yes but that's for drow. Who knows what the hell the things in those potions could do to me..." Not to mention she was dual blooded. And it wouldn't be the first time that she had ingested something Underdark oriented and paid the price. She remembered being sick for days once from such an incident. "But I suppose it is worth a shot. I mean...twenty years." She pushed her food around on her plate with her foor for a moment. "And anyt 'questonable technology' is better left alone. You do enough experimentation as it is...I'm not being a guenia pig just to have kids."

"Well I mean..hmm..well...the technology is proven, I just don't think you'd be overly thrilled with the source."
A bit of a sheepish grin at that, eating some of his food, and just waiting. soon enough, Kieran would be here..or maybe they'd see a disheveled sevilin or Zahara stumble downstairs. wouldn't that be a sight worth seeing.
"And I've only done a few experiments recently. Nym proved to be quite..helpful in that respect."

That got another look from her, the suspicious kind. The kind a mother gives you when she tells you to empty your pockets and you only shove your hands in to keep her from raiding them to find what unspeakable things you brought home in them. "If you think I won't be thrilled, then wouldn't it be best to refrain...because if you piss me off you know what happens." She usually denied him in all aspects and impliations of the word. Then a raised eyebrow. "You're in good with the animal, and I'm not? The world really has turned sideways..." Eating some from her plate, though not loving it at all then she looked over to him. "You get me sick with any of these things and you better be prepared to give due restitution. I didn't enjoy it the first time and I certinaly won't again." Yeah that had been one hell of a fiasco. Surface elves just couldn't stomach some things that Underdark elves coul. "And who are you planning to get to do this for you?"

She let out a high pitched scream and kicked Onyx in the nose.
She was ready to whack him with her staff too before she settled down, putting a hand to her chest to settle her racing heart.

"Not a word on it. and Nym didn't do anything for free. I had to give up a pair of nice socks for the hairs to drug those two, and of course, the hair strands and fibers in his fur when he went under the bed to get the first sock. he doesn't even know he provided something that has proven to be quite valuable I think."
A small chuckle.
"Yes I know. I really did think though at the time that those marrsprin tablets would help your migraine from your eyes trying to adjust. I didn't realize it woudl have the side affect of making you so sick you coudl barely look at food without throwing up."
A grin.
"Well..I could have Zahara do it. or I could simply buy it from someplace. I'm sure there's a few sellers on the Drow blackmarket that will sell that sort of thing. Or maybe a one of the clerics. I'd have to ask if any of them can make it."
"Ow!"
Thunk! and sauntering out from under the desk, one hand rubbing his sensitive nose, the other his head from her kick making his head jerk back, and up, and into the desk.
"Are your feet made or iron or something?"

"She sat on the table, rubbing her bare foot. "I don't know, is your nose made of steel?" That little plan backfired, she was sure.
"I feel like I broke my foot on your face." That sounded rather comical, didn't it?

"Oh Gods...let Sevilin find out that and you're really in for it." Piper shook her head lightly. "Or Nym for that matter....do you have any idea how nasty ferrets can be?" Wasn't fun to get them pissed at you, childhood experiences told her that much. Though she took to her food as he had his chuckle and brought up that incident. Indeed, her eyes trying to strain to adjust to perpetucal darkness, and then adjusting to that before being strained again by indoor lights and what not. It was a hassle, gave her terrible migraines. "That's an understatement...I felt like I'd been poisoned." It had been quite bad indeed. And they had learned the hard way that as a surface elf, there were some things she just shouldn't have. Of course over the years Malik had been trying to build up her tolerances to Underdark substances and what not, giving her little doses of things from time to time to try and build a natural resistance or at least comfortable tolerance. "Besides...if it worked I would be sick and pregnant at the same time...and that's worse." Being pregnant was hard enough on elves as it was.

wiggling his nose in that feline fashion, snorting a little bit.
"Nope, nose is okay. want me to look at your foot?"
Tail swishing back and forth, it liked the idea. but Onyx just waited a bit, tilting his head.
"I really hope you didn't sprain anything or break nothing. I'd feel really bad. It was just a little fun."
"They can't be worse than that panda freak in Stonebrunt mountians. I mean Pandas are bears. bears can do horrible things to you. and that woman...she'd rather see you get gutted by a panda than to see a panda lose a scrap of fur from your selfdefense. and she had weapons to enforce her lunacy. how bad can a ferret be?"

"Must we talk about the panda incident?" It was indeed rather freakish, yet humorous at the same time. Though scary to recall really. Never again. Though a chuckle. "Because ferrets latch on and never let go...and can easily get in your clothes and not come out. Would you like a ferret in your clothes scratching and biting? Believe me Malik I know these things." Then a wide eyed look for a moment, knowing he would love to ask about that one. "And don't you ask how I know."

She wiggled her toes. "I think it's alright...it's just in shock." She twirled her ankle too, just in case. Felt a little funny, but she was fairly sure there wasn't anythign wrong with it.
She looked a little sheepish. "Sorry to spoil your fun."

Malik already has his mouth open to do exactly that, when he closed it again with a grin.
"Maybe I'll ask your father if he knows about it. then he can question you if he doesn't."
Oh that was a good plan. put father against daughter on that one. hell the look on Kieran's face would be worth it.
"Nah, not a big deal."
He walked over, and picked up the book, and handed it over to her, taking his claw and moving some of her hair back out of her eyes a bit.
"Nothing wrong with a little teasing and smacking between friends, right?"
