I know, beating a chainsword would be hard, but is it possible? xd Probably... get a reference from someone and come see him. When everything is up of course... Edit; Flanged mace with multiple mini chainblades. twisted

Most of my ideas on "brutality" are much less efficient than the chainsword.
Any of those multiple head wips with enough hooks to catch a decent bite of skin I'd count. I immediately devised some bizarre contraptions in my head that essentially are either a spear or a lance- spear with a head that you detonate into shrapnel once it's inside, somehow without sacrificing the strength to puncture, don't ask me. Lance with an outlet somewhere near the tip so once you jam it in you fire superheated gas through those outlets into the body.
...probably not even reasonable ideas, but hell, seemed mean enough to me.
Personally, for brutality I've always liked small things over large things. Small, hook-knife over chainsword. Tear things apart instead of making it all so fast.
Anything with a large series of tiny hooks if you can get at skin and not some kind of armor. Just shred skin and flesh bit by bit.
I guess my ideas are hitting either outrageous and dumb or bit-by-bit cruelty instead of brutal efficiency.
Edit: Not quite brutal, but if anyone knows what the Penetrator from FEAR is, I love that thing.

They kind of have both those things in 40k >.>
The first is a hunting lance. Rough Riders (part of the Imperial Guard) use them, though they DO kind of ruin the lance in the process. Armor piercing explosions do that.
The second is still more of a gun, but you just described melta weapons to a T. The Eldar fire dragons also carry fusion guns which basically do the same thing, though they do look more lance-like I believe (though that might have been in a previous edition?)
