Shouj - Positive for antibodies simply means that you've been exposed and formed an immune response against the virus. If you've been vaccinated, that would be the most likely source of exposure -- antibody formation is the intended result of vaccination.
More specifically, the test results mean either a) you responded appropriately to the vaccine and your body did exactly what it was supposed to, or b) in addition to the vaccine, you were exposed to the virus naturally. The test generally can't differentiate between the two. The Red Cross probably just sends you the results because they don't know if you've been vaccinated or not, and they wanted you to be aware.
Either way, you haven't got the virus, you've just got protective antibodies. That is a good thing.

Shoujo Phoenix But the thing is that the shot doesn't affect that. It said that in the paper so you shouldn't have a buildup of the antibodies. It's just odd. Like, my mom called the doctor and he was concerned about it too. So yeah, I'm having the tests rerun. In that case, if they aren't cross-reacting antibodies, it's likely that you were naturally exposed at some point, but protected from the virus thanks to vaccination.

Tannasin Mk.II So there I was buying my first lottery scratch-off ticket today at the local convenience store. I'm not the type of person to constantly throw away money on lottery tickets, but everyone on my dad's side of the family is crazy about them.
So, I bought one, single $2 ticket.
I won $200 on my first try. gonk
Must. Buy. More. Tickets.
@_________________@ Don't fall into that trap! That happened to me too. Wait a while before you buy any more. You have to remember the average scratcher has cash winnings ratio of about 1:10. And that might only be 2 bucks. So in the cheapest scenario you've lost 8 dollars. So wait a while for the suckers to go through the crappy scratchers. Stick with the same one too. It works for me. I buy the 3 dollar poker scratcher, and I'm pretty much even if not a few bucks ahead. ^_^

oh btw, fell in love with a new band after seeing a sweet FMA video. They're called nightwish. If you don't know them, google them and go to their official page. Check out 'Nemo' especially. Awesome. I'll be getting their CD soon. ^_^

Shoujo Phoenix Does anyone know what it means when you show that you have hepatitis B antibodies in your body BUT not the virus? Red Cross sent me papers saying that...but that I'm negative for the virus. I got the vaccinations for hepatitis B way back in middle school AND I never had it in my entire life. AND another thing is that this is the second time I've donated blood and they sent the papers about the antibodies in my blood for the second donation. I'm going in tomorrow to have tests rerun...but meh. I just hope I'm not a carrier and I'm just hoping I was exposed to the virus sometime in the past few months or something. UGH. I'm falling apart. Like, I already have weak ankles, especially my right one. I have to wear a brace quite often...but it's just an ace bandage one. Nothing like...industrial. My knee is starting to go too. NOW the issue is my left wrist/arm. I've had a pain in it the past few weeks and today I picked up a pretty good brace because I figure I don't want whatever it is to get worse especially with what I do at work (lifting people and such). I'm a mess. surprised Poor Shouj'! gonk heart
Hope everything starts to feel better again, or something positive.

Chibi Baka Ugh. So, I know I've been gone for a while. I mostly blame this on the fact that I have been without internet for the past week+, but life has really come and hit me in the face this week. To make a long story really freaking short, one of our good friends of the family died this past week, and it's been really rough. Everything's starting to not be in place anymore up here and I just want to curl up in a ball and die for a while. I still probably won't be around for another week or so, but I just wanted to say I'm not dead and hope you didn't forget about me ^^. If you really want to say hi, the best way will be to reach me by e-mail: quixoticemokid@gmail.com for the next week. Then I'll be around again., <3 I love you guys and wish I could be around right now, but things just flat out SUCK right now. -hug- Teh CB! domokun heart *luffs on* Sucks to hear, things'll get better eventually, and if they don't, then I will fix things! scream

Phoenix315 Lovely. GD forum invasion. Dx IGNers... I really didn't expect it to come from that place, and it was so poorly planned out. It's immature, I don't see the point of, "Taking over a forum." Maybe it's just me.

Then again, I take all the precautions there so it seems a little odd. At least I had the vaccination back in middle school. In any case, they're running tests. The part that concerned me was the fact that they sent the papers and basically said I can't donate again if another thing like that comes up positive...which struck me as odd because I wouldn't think antibodies would matter much because, well, they're good.
