I didn't really care much about the interpersonal side of it all. Then again, I normally leave that for the second or third play through.
As soon as my father gets me a new surge protector, I can finish up FFXII. And then maybe play FF9 for the 20th+ time through. gonk heart
I still have about a half dozen PS2 games that I bought, played for <15 hours, and ended up not going back to. emo I should probably force myself to play through those if nothing more than to say my games I own have been completed.
On a completely unrelated note, Safari is an exceptionally snappy browser. surprised There's only a few things about it that bug me, but when I get my macbook pro, I'm just gonna use XCode to pop some new features in it. 3nodding

Miriam The Bat I didn't use a guide the first time and I still got Tifa. That's because I was being an a** to Aerith the whole way up to kabob time, though. Kabob time! *cracks up*
*is playing with a tablet for the first time.*

FFXII was amazing. I hated basically ALL of the characters you played, but the game itself was exceptionally fantastic.
And I was so grossly overlevelled by the end boss, I just sat there and let the gambits go to work.
XD

I always keep the gambits on Vaan turned off. The game just loses all battle appeal if I don't get some say in it. xd Of course, now that my party of three is fairly overlevelled compared to the other characters, I want to use the others instead, as they appeal to me more now than they first did. gonk

FFXII is my favorite FF of all time, but in my case I loved every single one of the characters.
I mean... The princess is a bitter, angry b***h who wants to destroy kingdoms out of revenge. You've got the medieval fantasy version of James Bond, and his sexy lady friend is the most intelligent one in the group. The player character wasn't even the leader and remained a nobody at the end of the story. And the romantic subplots were completely subtle, except for the primary couple which was so fantastically torn apart before the opening FMV was over.
Such a refreshing change from whiny emo tough guys, doormat magical girls, and underwater make-out scenes...

FF9 is my favorite, if for no other reason than it seems to go back to the roots of FF2, which is my second favorite by a very very close match.
I can't disagree with what you posted though. xd FFXII does have a refreshing change from the typical story.

The script was amazing, I totally agree. I just really didn't like them as INDIVIDUAL characters. There was something about Ashe that just grated on me, and Vaan was...Vaan.
I don't think I need to elaborate on Vaan's issues.
XD
In the end, Vaan and Basch were auto-Berserk, with a plethora of buffs to make them near-invincible. Penelo was my healer when I needed it, and she basically stood there to make sure the boys stayed Berserk.
Though to this day if I go down into the Penumbra of the Lighthouse I am so dead.

...yup!
*thinks*
I think so. I know I had the spell. By the time I got them, I didn't need them.

You can level up on FFVII without being in the room, so long as you're past a certain point in the storyline. All you need is a heavy book if I remember correctly. X3
I didn't even know there was a FFXII. *laugh* I'm so out of it.

Aye, you can't do that with FFXII because the battles are a mix of real-time and turn-based. No random encounters.
I made my own rubber band bot for FFX-2. xd Set the battle cursor to "memory," strap a rubber band around the joystick, and tape down the x button. Success!
I had Yuna as an alchemist using a potion that healed everybody (and since she was an alchemist, never ran out), while I had the other two on auto-berserk. >:3

The Full Metal Alchemist movie always makes me sad. emo
The manga apparently has a different storyline starting about halfway through, so now I need to buy them and find out. gonk If it's not a happy ending, somebody's gonna lose a finger or two. crying
