((This may sound weird, but am I the only one that thinks Tesei and Tsuki look like twins :3))
Seeing as though growl was a failure, Night called off the attack. "Try Sand-Attack instead," Night called. Hitting the ground multiple times, Peep send a barrage of Sand at Sneasel and Nova. Meanwhile, Night had to talk strategy with Maia. "Maia," Night whispered to his teammate, "got any bright ideas? I'm stumped."

(Suprisingly, no) Reno watched the sand hit Nova and begin to slowly start melting away. Apparently, Nova was pissed. Just having sand thrown at her rather than a true attack really did not sit well with her. Igniting a massive flame around her, dhe charged at the Torchic, a Flame Wheel attack ready to scorch it. At the sidelines, Leslie could be heard cheering, "Go, Go, Reeeeeno. Go, Go, Reeeeeeno." At her side, Fenrir was dancing slightly in an effort to match her master's friends flamboyant movements. Abra remained stock still, but one could see his tail keeping the beat of the chant.

The thing about discussing strategy in the heat of battle was that, unless efforts were made to speak in hushed tones, you were basically giving any strategy discussed away to the enemy. The best strategies in Double Battles are formed by reading your allies' moves as well as your enemies', and judging the best movement based on their actions. Sneasel and I were doing just that: Since Torchic and Tepig were bent on using her weakness to Fire, we were allowing Nova to play guardian while we fired off ranged attacks from behind the volunteering meatshield... or bugshield, if you please.
At this instant, Sneasel and I decided to use a move that hits both Torchic and Tepig, albeit one that they both resist. This being Icy Wind, of course. Thankfully, as this was done above (to a degree) Nova, he wouldn't get hit as well.
((Their avatars are similar, I'll give them that. I'm not sure what their characters look like, however.))

[oops sorry, was distracted by cooking!]
Maia glanced over at Night, frowning at him. "Oh, mr. Big shot doesn't have any plans?" She muttered. It was obvious their chemistry as battle partners was nowhere near where it had to be.
Hank, saw the Sneasel jump up and send an attack her way. It would be too much of a risk to guess at whether or not she could block it with another attack, so she just-
BLAM.
-got hit by the attack. Yeah, Hank wasn't exactly a speedster. If she had to fall into any category, she'd be a tank, as she could surly take a hit, but giving them out was another story.
Maia grit her teeth, watching the Icy winds blow over the battle field. What to do? What moves did Hank know? Suddenly, She got an idea. "Hank! Flame Charge!"
Hank, who was in the middle of some howling winds... let out a sigh of relief once her trainer finally made a smart choice! Stomping around, kicking up dust and coating herself in flames! Hank, now ablaze, charged at the Two pokemon, aiming to plow into that Larvesta!

Night expected the sand attack to blind the T.B. and Reno while he and Maia thought up a plan, but Maia wasn't really a team player. One would think with their similar strategies that they could work together, but the two weren't really so compatible. Seeing the flame wheel coming gave Night an idea, though. "Use ember on that pig thing," Night said after Torchic took the hit. Being a fellow fire type, the flame wheel was really more of a tackle to Torchic. Sliding across the floor, Peep would fire multiple embers at the Tepig. Night's real plan was to power it up so he it could actually do some damage. Hopefully the ember would do that and not end up pissing off Maia. While Peep did this, he would also feel a chilled gust that didn't do much.

Charky growled some more. "Cha char char meleo char me me leon. Charmeleon!" he shouted again. In Poketalk this meant "Oh come on Sneasel! Try Swift or Scratch or something that isn't Ice!" A Venusaur walked towards the lizard and picked him up with his vine. "Saur ven venu saur Venusaur." or rather "You pain in the neck. Stop-" Saur said, before receiving a Snokescreen to the face, some getting into the battle field. Uh-oh.
Charky then ran like hell, leaving some smoke in the battle arena and a very confused Venusaur where the fire type had been standing.

Nova felt the chill suddenly coming on from the Icy Wind. deciding to do a little trickery, it flipped itself over the Torchic before using Take Down, aiming to launch the chicken into the wind. Another effect of this sudden bit of movement is the Tepig charging in missed entirely.

Seeing Nova coming in with take down, Night ordered in a sand-attack. Peep may not have been able to dodge, but he could have at least made things easier for Tepig. Bracing for impact, Peep flew backwards by the attack. Sliding against the floor, Peep was ready to faint now. However, Night's threatening glare made him weakly stand tall. Luckily, being so weak at the moment, Peep would actually get stronger. "Looks like Blaze is kicking in," Night said with a smile. "Peep, you're on fire now, literally." Peep was actually covered in fire now. This would even be seen through the smog cloud.

I stifled a chuckle. That tactic would have worked if Tepig had something like the Flash Fire ability, Fortunately for me, Tepig and Torchic had the same ability, so Night's plan, while a good one, failed.
Deciding to keep the pressure on Tepig, I ordered Sneasel to use Crush Claw on Tepig. Sneasel landed, ran toward the burning pig, and slammed it in the back with her claws.

SubonicXP "Stalking? But I just got here...thirty minutes ago but I digress." Sub said with a laugh. "You spoke of me?" "Just contemplating your sanity is all," Eve said, fixing herself another hot cup of tea before returning to her seat on the table, "Speaking of lacking sanity. I haven't seen Poe around lately." She tilted her head slightly as she took notice of Ship's discomfort, "Uh, I think you should probably stop that, Sub. Looks like it's making Ship a little uncomfortable."

Ms Edyn "Just contemplating your sanity is all," Eve said, fixing herself another hot cup of tea before returning to her seat on the table, "Speaking of lacking sanity. I haven't seen Poe around lately." She tilted her head slightly as she took notice of Ship's discomfort, "Uh, I think you should probably stop that, Sub. Looks like it's making Ship a little uncomfortable." "Sanity? Girl, I lost that a very long time ago. It was tragic really, I remember it like it was yesterday...cue flashback." Sub said as he stared up at the ceiling, the area around him shifting as a new reality slowly- "Hehe! No flashbacks!" Poe said appearing behind Sub, slapping him on the back on the head. The whole reality distortion never happened mind you, just Sub being...Sub. "Hey! I was getting ready to have a flashback!" Sub protested as the Sableye stood at his side. "Well there is Poe...any who...what makes you think that? Ship is my little bonus, he loves it! Right Ship?" Sub said as he continued to pet Ship.

"Okay, now I'm left to question my own for allowing someone with obvious mental problems to lead the group I'm in, as well as the sanity of every other member here," Eve said softly, staring down at her cup before her attention was caught by the sudden appearance of the ghost, "Thanks, Poe. Not sure if I was ready to deal with insanity flashback just yet. Anyways, back to the matter at hand, Sub. I just couldn't help but notice Ship doesn't really seem to be relaxing into it like he does with me.

Ship's ears twitched. He wasn't sure whether to answer truthfully or risk any hurt feelings. "Erm. I choose to preserve my innocence with silence," he finally said, and finished his mug of tea in a giant swallow.

Sub listened to Eve, and then Ship, slowly pulling his hand away from the Zorua hybrid and letting it drop to his side, taking a few steps back in the process, away from Ship. "Oh...well, I'm sorry. I'll just go check out the footage from Mt. Moon or something...sorry to bother you" Sub said as he went to walk off.

"Now where the hell do you think you're going," Eve said, jumping up from her spot on the table and landing in front of the boy, "Who said you could leave. Get back in here and have some tea with us."
