Dude, Im gonna come clean. It is my project to work on village buildings which will (based on how im doing it) have a key tie in with the war system (conversation for a later date).
Problems, A I keep loosing my work and having to start over
B, im having a mental block when thinking up buildings SO!, Im gonna ask for a hand here. Im not above it, nope not at all.
Heres what we got. Gotta make buildings that do cool s**t. There are four types of buildings. Support, Offensive, Defensive, and Field.
Support would be like hospitals to make revival checks and remove debuffs when out of combat etc.
Offensive would be like archers or what have you that might do something like, all trespassing shinobi would have to make a check each turn to avoid damage.
Defensive would be like village walls and would requre a stealth check to enter the village if you are not welcome.
and Field would be like toll booths to charge money to use a road leading out of your country or what have you.
Note: Keep in mind that some of these things will be able to be built in travel threads by missing nin. But that is a whole nother thing that im not willing to speak on just yet.
So have at it, gimmie some ideas that I can turn into cool new system ish. It does not need to have mechanics, I just need ideas for buildings for each category. Im thinking that the very least 5 per section and at least 2 possible upgrades per building. So like Hospitals can be upgraded to have better checks against revivals or upgraded to have better checks against removing debuffs. etc.

Seriously though: -Repair Vendor: Something that can repair uses on items. Obviously the higher level the cheaper repairs are (though levels should be severely limited). -Diplomatic Den: A place where no killing is allowed even on those with bounties on them. Think of it as a sort of safe house for all. Anyone that broke these rules would be assaulted by the NPC's (just represent this as a "misc" buff to whomevers side they're on. Those buffs could be to toughness, damage, accuracy, potency, or what have you depending on the type of NPC's within). These buffs would be reflected in sorts of "group" attacks and "group" defenses. For example: You're in a Diplomatic Den having ducked away after you got wind that someone was hunting you down do to a recent bounty. Once inside the group catches up to your trail and finds you within. Being brazen they decide to attack. The Den is level X and grants you +100 toughness, +100 resistance, +100 Accuracy and +1,000 damage. The toughness could be represented by others taking partial damage for you (such as trying to counter attacks but being only partially successful). The resistance could represent medics in the Den helping remove harmful effects off you, accuracy could represent members of the Den attacking at the same time and damage the same. -Medical Hut: Another neutral non-village area (obviously the village version would just be a hospital though without the charge) that charges to revive. Owners of the hut could collect a % of the payments.

More building ideas.
Cart: A cart traverses across a specific road charging x amount for it's services. Any village may build one of these through their village funds and the profit from people paying ryo to use it is divided amongst the two villages it traverses between. This would likely decrease post amount/time needed to wait but would cost ryo to use. Could not be combined with shortcuts (yet to be added).
Hired Thugs: Hired muscle guards a road. Players may make a stealth check vs the awareness of the thugs to avoid them. Failure means they must confront them. Full combat is not necessary simple series of checks based off certain aspects bought for the thugs (perhaps perform a counter, perform a dodge, perform an attack roll vs their dodge total, etc) if the majority are failed the players are left at half chakra/stamina until they wait x time to rest up and they loose x ryo which the owner of the thugs gains a % of. Only one set of thugs (the highest level ones) may be on any given road (the others are scared or chased off until they're stronger or placed on a different road).

@Repair Vendor, Actually, I really love this one. In my opinion, it would add a lot of rp value to the system in that your items dont magically get repaired because you paid ryo tribute to some crazy item repair god. I also like these ideas because they provide ways other than just doing missions for a village or a group to make money.

Ah im glad I saw those. I now have a better understanding of how I want to do these buildings. Some of them that just came to my mind was
Emergency Bunker: A hidden emergency bunker that has its own stealth PC and can hold X amount of ninja at a time, which would basically provide a strong buff to those who are hiding inside.
Village Library: Allows players to submit their own custom skills to the village library. The libraries level would determine how many skills it can hold. Skills that have been submitted to the library can be learned by any other shinobi from that country without needing to be directly taught. This would server a minor yet useful effect in the event that say, a player made a "Hidden Mist Skill" that he wanted to share with the entire mist village. Instead of having to teach everyone, you could submit it and allow them to learn it from the library.
Holding Cells Works similar to a stun, however it would usually have a much higher PC as it would not be limited by a stat. While in these holding cells a ninja would be unable to escape until the check is beaten or an OOC wait time is reached (to prevent people from being captured for life). This would allow players that want to hold another player captive for a period of time to not have to remain in battle or even present to hold them.
Vault A vault would basically have a series of PC's that would have to be beaten to open, village members would be able to store valuable items inside it to prevent them from being taken. This would work mostly for guild items such as the rare mist swords, or even village scrolls when ever we get around to working those in.
I have some more ideas, but that got the wheels turning.

Here's an idea of mine:
Traveling Merchants: Throughout the world there are several individuals who base their living off traveling from country to country and marketing their goods. These merchants carry with them knowledge of what's going on in the last country they visited, giving players info on what's going on in that country. This would help with the swords event, as well as prevent some metagaming.
For example: Shio is currently training with Genzu in Fire country. An OOC ally of theirs who decided to join Water country is about to be attacked by Sousuke and his gang. Instead of the m saying "Oh! Our friend is getting attacked, let's go help him!" they can hear what's going on from a traveling merchant who might have overheard Sousuke's plot.

@Ele- just a note you should possibly put certain Line requirements to get to, into, etc with certain buildings like Diplomatic Den and Medical stuff, simply so players can't instant be in one when someone comes after them. Not to say the requirements should be really high, but enough to represent the movement from a to b.
Also that lines/time done in these places shouldn't count towards travel or continuing a mission, or whatever have you as it would be completely separate and also would prevent people safety spamming certain areas while they travel.

thank you Berry-chan, but you didn't have too do that Why BeanpoleJim, why, it was alright nothing great, I like Rule 63 Itachi more So how is everyone? for anyone who cared about the song lyric game thing I post the other day, here is the song, it is from my favorite movie Rule the World - Take ThatQuestion, for the Required Offensive / Defensive effect, can I use a board range of Jutsu, like Aburame skills, rather then one in particular?
