I hate my new job. I was kind of excited to be hired by Border's Express, but alas I'm not selling books- I work in this damn kiosk selling calendars. (I'm sure you've seen the ones I'm talking about in the mall.) It's horrible- not so much that it's hard and the costumers give me attitude over calendars. It's just boring as all hell. I get to stand around with no place to sit for hours. I mean it wouldn't be that bad if I actually had something to occupy my brain with so I wouldn't just sit there thinking about how tired I am.
And when they hired me I said I couldn't work this weekend because I already had plans to be out of town. I should have called the manager who hired me last night, but never got around to it. I just called and got this weird singing guy, which I think was a . . . something or other. Recording? I'm afraid to call the other manager, because well . . . she's a b***h. But then again- maybe I'll get fired? I wouldn't mind that . . . seriously.
I wish I had more of backbone.

I'd attempt to avoid getting fired, so you can use the job as history on future apps.
Do you have to sit? If I were you I'd get up and converse with customers a bit to occupy myself. Boring jobs are 10x better then hectic/stressful ones, so enjoy it. lol
I lucked out and got a new job I'm loving, working in the cafe at a Barnes and Noble. Book/manga discounts and really badass coworkers <3 (we all play WoW together hehe)

Did I word something wrong in my first post. I mean I can't sit- I get to stand for four hours straight with no breaks. And tomorrow I work five hours. I'm not too sure if I get break or not. Because they told me if you work six hours- THEN you get a 15 minute break. However when I worked four hours- I got no such break at all. And then on thursday I get six hours, which means- hey I get fifteen minutes . . . stare
And every costumers that comes in I ask if they need anything, but calendars are as about as exciting as . . . toothpaste.

I really don't have many objections to my job. Of course stocking gets annoying when you're getting bitched at that you're not getting enough Reservations(Res) or Subscriptions(Subs). And on Saturday(my birthday) they turned me in to a ******** Wal*Mart greeter for about 3 hours, that was annoying. domokun
Otherwise, I enjoy my job, get to bullshit about video games all day... I'm such as loser. whee

Pharaohess Nothing in the Playboy calendar line, huh? I'm a little confused in your statement. But we do have several playboy and such calendars. Everyone looks at them, but no one buys them. And dog calendars need to die.

Oh I read your post wrong Masq whee 6+ hrs should be a 30 min break, 4+ is 15...at least that's the usual. Does your state have laws on that sort of thing?? A lot do.
I'm annoying and carry on random convos with people, most seem to like it, especially when I play with their kids.

I just got a Hakkari Warblade and it's beautiful. [/nerd] The only people have had jobs in the theatre program that I'm in have failed because of it. It's kind of hard to work when you have a 4 hour class in the afternoon. I disagree entirely though. I had a job at Wal-Mart that varied from crazy and hectic to boring as hell, and to be honest I much prefeerred when I had something to do. The only time I liked my job is when things got really difficult and I pulled through. I was actually proud then. However, on Sundays (because until two months ago there was still no sunday shopping in Nova Scotia) I would have to organize everything the entire day, it was basically the same job without customers. It drove me nuts! It was so boring!

Pharaohess xd Playboy and related calendars are supposed to be "exciting". I find that Playboy focusses less of sexual excitement and more on an appreciation for beauty. It was also surprising how intellectually stimulating it was. I'm tempted to actually buy th magazine just for the articles... sweatdrop

I did that for a year. And it just proved to me how stupid men are. There were a few interesting articles here and there, but the rest was completely vapid and idiotic. There was only one I felt like keeping because I loved the cover shot they took, the rest are spread out among my brother's friends by now I suppose.
...or maybe that was GQ or something. I don't remember anymore, but somewhere out there is a man's magazine with really terribly stupid articles. 3nodding
