even if you learned to speak it... becoming literate would be super hard ;_;
Chinese characters are all super complicated

my english teacher tells me english is the hardest to learn besides chinese
lucky i grew up with it xd
the only other languge i can "speak" is sign and i'm not very fluent yet
i would pretty much have to resort to fingerspelling most words
oh and if any of you are intrested in learning american sign languge just for fun i know a great site that shows you how to actully do the signs with a video 3nodding

And to be considered "literate" in China you have to know about 10,000 different characters. >_> I don't even think I know that many words.

Maybe it's just something teachers say, because I can remember my norwegian teacher saying that norwegian was one of the hardest languages to learn, though I highly doubt it's true... rolleyes ninja

We use " en, ei and et" on things the english language would only use "a" in.

Russian seems kinda hard to me but not as hard as Chinese or Norwegian. Chinese is hardest to write for me and Norwegian would be hardest for me to speak probably

Chinese is a tonal language. It is hard to write, speak and understand. Slight inflections in certain words, and tone can change the meaning of a word.
And I don't know anything about Norwegian. XD
