Divinus Cruor Mega, how can you hate progessive and say such rear-kissing comments about pink floyd? you make no sense at all. BTW, pink floyd SUCKS! if you recall, i said i hate MOST prog. i also was talking about prog METAL, such as dream theater, not prog rock. im not very familiar with much prog rock, but i love pink floyd's bluesy solos (lots of emotion, not boring technical s**t like prog metal) and i also enjoy king crimson. plus, pink floyd is more acid rock than progressive rock. they're closer to iron butterfly than rush, imho

NO. dope refers to opiates in general and heroin in particular, because those types of drugs (esp. heroin) cause the brain to produce high levels of dopamine, causing a feeling of euphoria. pink floyd was music created by people who smoked a lot of weed and took a lot of hallucinogens - definitely LSD, probably psilocybin mushrooms, maybe peyote (though probably not, since they were british) and others of the sort. it was music created for people who like acid rock - most of those people taking the same sorts of drugs as the band was on. but it was not by dopeheads, for dopeheads. if you want music for people on junk, try the sex pistols.

i would like to make it clear: people should stay away from dope. dope is one of the worst things in this planet you can get involved in. coke is another of those things. by contrast, weed and most psychedelics pose little risk to the well being of your brain and body when used in moderation - less risk even, than moderate amounts of alcohol.

It lead to what is now modern Metal. point # 1: I never judge something I've never listened to --> I have listened to Pink Floyd and support my previous comment: they suck. point # 2: I don't belong to a pot smoke filled world. I don't do any kind of drugs, people calls me that for the way I look. point # 3: I have recognized they are a strong pillar of what we listen today, and I thanked them (if you read ALL the posts I made about this topic).
