"Nothing like a little damage to make something work.." She mumbled and then he kissed her. She blinked and it was done, he was already away from her with a smile on his face and her heart twisted uncomfortibly. Of coarse she wanted more and that would be obvious but acting on it wouldnt be right... right now at the least. She followed him through the door, her face very serious as she thought it over. Yes some lessons were very fun but some were not.

"You know those lessons arnt the ones that i was talking about and if anything i think both of us taught each a thing or too, if not me more than you." She teased to lighten the mood but when she entered the building and it was empty, her teasing attitude left. "Where is nate?"

"No... I dont even feel him here, and when Nates here the place is him..." She did another look around. No one was here, she didnt even get the spooks like some one was watching them... No the place was totally empty. She didnt hesitate, she walked right behind the bar and opened the safe she knew held the keys to the rooms. Grabbing hers and the main door she closed the safe without locking it and ran to the door beside the bar. She fumbled with the keys, her hands unable to hold them because they were shaking. There was dust on the counters and shelves, which was not Nates thing at all.


Great, they went in the building... She could sense it like someone had entered a door to her inner being. Sighing she took to the shadows with ease, letting them swallow her body and move her to her desired placement. That just happened to be across the room in the far corner.
"You will not find anything there... Nathaniel left over a week ago" She was older, looking like a teenager but her hair and stature was the same. There would be no doubt that she was Kyuu

She jumped when Kyuu spoke and jumped when Neko touched her, but as soon as the door was opened, she was bolting up the stairs without speaking to either one of them. She was at her door in a matter of seconds, and the door open with little problem at all, but what she saw wasnt pleasing. The room was completely empty.... Her mind raced, trying to remember everything she had here including her ancient scrolls that she needed for teaching. She wanted to scream, she wanted to hit things but she didnt, she just leaned against the door and looked into the room that had been like a home for her for years... That not even a month ago was here....

Kyuu let the shadows take her to the top, next to mother figures room but out of reach in case the woman was stricken with a bout of madness. She peered into the room and then looked a Neko, her arms crossed at her chest.
"I told you that he left, that means all of the materials left with him... " She mumbled.

Kyuu just growled at him in response, twisting her face into a scowl before dismissing him and looking back at the mother figure. She did not want to admit that she had no idea as to way the old man had left so she just stayed silent and waited...


She shook her head, confusion entering her mind and expression.
"Nate probably does have a safe house, but i have always seen him here, always met him here... He did live in Iris before here but i cant imagine him going back... Iris is so far away and so hard to get too that its not worth it to try and go back. Its protected by all the elementals closest to it and if they dont feel theres a reason for you to find the town you cant enter it, you just get lost." She looked at him, a bit a vulnerability showing in her eyes. She never spoke of her home before the Academy, because most of the time it hurt to even mention it. Just the thought of Nate going back was hurting her because she knew he would never get there... Not if he hadnt spoken to her.
"He wouldnt make it because Iris would have to allow him in... He needs permission and passage.. Unless he left it with the intent of going back which again i would know if he did... " She was shaking her head and trying to remember as much as she could about Nate, but there wasnt much to tell.

"Nate is obviously not human, but i never scented him or even figured out what he was... I mean he and i have known each other for at least 200 years now.. And he travels, from town to town but not often. If he finds a place, like here, he stays there until some where else calls him, but normally i know where he is, he never leaves without leaving a message... We just need to find the message. " And with that she started to look for any kind of clue.

"Im not just from it, im one of the people that created it..." She said, her eyes drifting down before she turned to him.
"Thats how Adara knew you then. She was the gatekeeper of the place before.. Before she and i became one..." An ache formed in her breast bone and she swallowed the knot in her throat. "Thats why i know he will never make it there... No one will until i go back... I wonder why Adara never mentioned you before. Ive been the leader of the Light dojo there for years and i dont remember feeling your presence there... Then again, we did have our own problems... " And not to mention she hadnt known him... The thoughts of Iris and its past werent something she wanted to think about, since even now she still refused to go back... It wasnt because she didnt love it and it wasnt because she hated her past. It was because she refused to return unable to defend those she loved there, plain and simple, she needed to train. Though it was years ago, the pain of it still felt fresh, so she said nothing more and headed to the door again, jumping slightly when he started to cough and something moved around her and down the stairs.

"He was much more than human. In the entire time i have known him, his looks have never changed which is saying alot considering i have changed alot... His patrons werent all people from the towns either... Some followed him like they didnt have any choice. Our best bet is finding one of the people that use to come here if we dont find his note."

Well that was a surprise... Now she really wondered why she hadnt known when Neko had visited Iris, but she didnt say anything, she just continued to look and it made her frustrated.. She looked everywhere her human body would let her go. Under the bar, in the liquor cabnet, the storage closet, the bathroom, under every table and chair. Hell she even looked at the roof and around each rafter, she could not find it.
"Kyuu! Did anyone else visit before us?" She yelled, already knowing the answer... The door had been unlocked, and even though dust had been on the shelves, there wasnt any on the floor or on the old safe... "We need to go.... Some one else has probably been here.. And taken the note."

"I would not know, i did not stay and watch this place or Nate... I was elsewhere..." Kyuu once again appeared from the shadows. She was comfortable with the ones here but the ones out in the world were all controlled by the mother figures unwanted friend. Not that it would matter, since she was sure soon the mother figure would be mad that she did not stay with Nate to begin with...

She spun around with a glare and a growl, knowing exactly where Kyuu was and being very furious with her.
"Why the hell no-." She stopped mid sentence, finally getting a look at her adoptive daughter. And oh my the little girl wasnt so little anymore. Her anger disappeared and was replaced with shock. There Kyuu was, the size of a teenage woman, with the...Uh body of one too... But her voice was practically the same, sweet and childlike... She would almost say it didnt fit if she hadnt met humans that were the same way. Other then that the basic structure of her child was the same, but she looked alot like a fox kin. Her face was angling with a sharp chin and high cheekbones. Her ears were pointed and eyes narrowed. She was attractive which worried her cause she knew Kyuu would use it too the full extent that she could. Other then the basic shape and size the only things that were completely the same were the color of her eyes and her hair cut.
"How... How did you grow so quickly..." She stumbled over her words as she walked up to Kyuu, her hand outreached and shaking slightly.

Kyuu glared to the father figures way before looking at her mother figure again with a softer gaze. She wished that her mother would let her in her head again so that she would know why she was so shaken by her appearance but she knew her last ordeal with that had severed any trust with the mother figure on that. So instead she took her trembling hand and pulled it to her cheek. "I am the same, just growing more to fit my soul i believe."

She almost laughed at his first statement but she held it in by covering her mouth and looking away from Kyuu. It was horrible but true, if Kyuus body grew with her souls experiance then she wouldnt look as good as she did.

"Yes, i think we are done here, i dont think we will find anything more..." She said, looking back at Kyuu and smiling. She took Kyuus hand and turned toward the door. "Lets get out of here, this is creeping me out. "

Kyuu was just glad the mother figure was not yelling at her anymore, so she did not complain about the stupid comment and just followed them.
