That is what kroot are for, they hold up enemy nasties quite nicely.
Battlesuits are highly manuverable, so they can counter most threats also.
But, if you are being swamped with everything, you may end up winning because of the sheer sacrifice of your opponent, but just barely.
I hate it when players just charge right at me, that uses no strategy at all.
A head on charge is called a blitzkreig(plz excuse my spelling). It is a tried tested & true tactic

Yeah it got the Nazi's pretty far.

I like the Tau. Long range. Pathfinders, Stealth Teams, Broadsides, and Ethereal Caste member help me themost. Stealth teams draw ambushes, Pathfinders use their markerlights and Rail Rifles, Broadsides bombarding heavy stuff, XV8s poking out of cover and firing their multi-missiles

Yes, but they'll be toasted by anything that deep-strikes and manages to stay in close combat, or anything that works their way up through cover. An experienced play will keep its cllose combat units in cover until the very last moment before assaulting.

true. but if its a empty table that you put scenery on you can make firing lanes to take them out

Markerlights negate cover, its a great thing. Deep-striking units can't assault their first turn, so plasma rifles, kroot charges and devilfish wipe out deep-striking units pretty well. Its just luck of the dice and good unit placement, really.
Same as always, Tau players work to keep mobile and open maximum firepower on their enemies at a distance. And opponents try to stay in cover, minimize firing lanes and get into CC as fast as possible. Whoever is more successful wins, and althought its usually harder for Tau players, its never as simple as 'just do this and you always win.'

by the way, peoples, blitzkrieg is simply german for 'lightning war'. They want to strike fast and hard. So you can just call it 'rushing'. And a funny lil' thing. my friend didn't read the codex book and just got Tau because they looked cool. he challenged someone and rushed into the fray with fire warriors. Needless to say, he got crushed

Concerning blitzkreig: Does it matter?

I just had to play a Iron Wariiors army yesterday with my Tau.
2000 points, he had four tanks (2 pred, a land raider, and a dug in basilisk).
It was a cleanse.
In the end he had six warriors left (in two seperate squads) and a pred with no main gun and immobilised.
I won by a 1500 point victory point margin, and I claimed all of the table quaters.
Six turns.
I did it by getting close and personal, point blank with my pulse rifles.
Just an example.

Remember: an army is only as good as the player.

C'mon, guys, this isn't a political discussion thread.
Try not to change the topic.
I know I'm not a mod or anything...but political discussion could lead to conflict...
And that could lead to this thread being canceled.

The Tau Gue'vesa are cool. You can mix Imperial guard with Tau and they can look either really awesome, or gay as hell. it's pretty cool, humans adapting the cause of the greater good as their own
