"Come for what? You? His pawn? His tool of control? No Nana. He won't come. No worries though... I won't be killing you today, just to prove a point. "

Xol still had his gauntlet tentatively placed at her cheek as he pierces into her eyes with his own. If she could focus, it would be like looking into the very fiery depths of Hell. If he did have a spell on her then it was something fierce. She sounded sincere enough, but for it to be natural, untainted love was something Xol could not believe. Mastema, like with Than, must be hiding something from her.

"So sweet... so innocent. Like a freshly fallen snow, yet tainted by the unfathomable filth that is Mastema. What a waste."

*Again Nana would repeat herself, she so strongly believed that Mastema would come for her. She didn't have any doubts, she just had to endure for as long as possible, she couldn't be weak. If she died, then what? She wasn't coherent enough to hear Xol introduce himself, so as far as Nana knew, this man worked for Gabriel*

....he'll come...! ...........

*Xol could say anything he wanted, but Nana didn't have to believe it. If he did work for Gabriel then it was probably mis-information, poison to her mind against her husband. Nana would have to endure both physically and mentally, or so it appeared. Xol could do so many things, say so many things, Nana just had to shut it all out, or at least try*

"He's come... coming for what? To save you? To save Thanatos? And then what? Use Thanatos in his plot, eh? Than wasn't born Nana, he was made. He's a tool. A final piece to some puzzle that Mastema is still developing. I wouldn't doubt it if you were a piece to the puzzle as well... along with your children. Love is not a word Mastema understands. He can't understand..."

Xol glanced at his gauntlet and quickly snapped it away, contemplating his own previous words and switching gears all together on her. As was the way of interrogations.

"Then again, how do I know you're not as sick and twisted as your hubby, hm? What about that Nana? Are you the one behind Mastema, pulling the strings, using Than and the Citadel in some scheme to kill and better your position in the world? Is that why you're really here?"

His voice was low, throaty, almost animalistic as he spat out insults and accusations left and right. She could shut him out all she wanted, he would break her in the end. She was weak. Both in will, spirit, and body. It was obvious be her feeble attempts to convince herself that Mastema would save her.

*Nana had heard about Thanatos' past from Mastema already, and her own children were accidental though still nothing short of loved. They were unplanned, there was no way they could have been in any sort of plot. Mastema didn't even know Nana was pregnant for a while, so there was absolutely no way. It was a lie, all of it was a lie she wouldn't belive*

......you're lying.

*It seemed absurd what Xol was talking about now. Nana using people, let alone her own stepson was something she would never do, though Xol had no way of knowing that really*

Nnn.... no!

"Oooh, I like it when you're defiant. It goes against your nature so much doesn't it?"

Xol grinned and chuckled darkly, placing both gauntleted hands next to Nana's head as he leaned in at an uncomfortable distance. He was getting to her. Slowly, but surely he was ebbing away at her confident demeanor.

"Who was it? Who was or rather is your former? Gabriel? Did Gabriel train you? Was he the one that allowed you to 'Fall'? I don't see you having the guts..."

This was getting easier for Xol. His natural hatred from Mastema made it far more enjoyable to torture his "love" Nana that it should have. However, within time she would spill something crucial and then perhaps he could let her go.

"What's wrong Nana? Don't like being told the truth? You're just as sick and twisted as Mastema aren't you? This goody-goody crap is just a cover up to what you truley are isn't it? You like to hear the screams of people in pain... the agonizing last throes of someone before your end their misery with a bemused smirk."

He was sure the constant verbal and mental abuse would pierce through and cause her to slip... to realize something she hadn't realized, or hadn't wanted to realize before.

.................

*Brining up Gabriel only made Nana go quiet. She hated Gabriel for what he'd done, what he knew that really did force Nana to become a fallen. If only to save her own life from the sin she had to commit, that was the only reason she ran. Only Gabriel never expected it, he was waiting for Nana to do something else entirely. He and everyone else thought Nana for dead after the fire........ Only Gabriel knew Nana was alive now, and after finding at least that much out he knew exactly what had happened. Now Nana was going to be hunted by Gabriel, if she survived*

...........b*****d...!

*Well that was one reaction at least. Nana would have held her hands to her head if they weren't held down in the restraints. Xol was just tormenting her now, and he'd apperently struck a nerve somewhere. Tears were starting to crest at the edges of Nana's eyes. Only one was open now, the other in too much pain from the scratch. The tears mixed with the blood in Nana's damages eyelid, and together spill over in a red line over the side of Nana's face down to her ear*

So, she could be broken. Now it was a matter of finding what had weakened her and surgically picking it apart. Was it perhaps a past with Gabriel? Or could it have been the ongoing onslaught on Mastema and herself. It would take some more time, but that's what he had plenty of at the moment.

"Awww... did I strike a nerve? I made the blood hungering Angel cry. The guilt is just overwhelming!"

Xol grinned toothily before letting it mature into a cold sneer. He had hurt her deeply to make her cry. Brought up an old memory maybe? If that was it maybe it had something to do with Gabriel. He would touch up on that in a moment, for now he would run with her pain and try to break her down some more.

"Tell me Nana. What do you truly know about Mastema? Hmm? His life before you met? You don't honestly think it's all sunshine and happy days do you? We all have our sob stories, however, none as dark as disturbing as Mastema's. No? Nothing about him being a mass murderer? Nothing about torturing his victims untill they passed out from the pain or ripping apart people with his torture devices?"

As he waited for her anwser, Xol slid the back of his claw along her cheek, collecting the blood mixed tears and hungily licking it off.

"Delicious..."

*Nana turns her head away from Xol, and with the novacaine injection she couldn't much feel the pain. But something he had said, did strike a cord and if she wanted to endure she couldn't listen to him. But it was strange, was he really with Gabriel? He wouldn't need to ask about him if he were, but then again she couldn't be certain*

................

*Nana hadn't seen any torture devices, save for Alpha Zenogais and his "art work" that one time. She had even been down to sub-level three more than once, though at the time it was uncomplete, she and Mastema shared their first dance there, a fond memory. Mastema was far to kind to her, she couldn't believe he was a monster. No, it was the sinners who where killed, the worst, it had to be only them. The things Nana and Mastema had talked about back at the old church, Mastema's dream, the one she helped rekindle in him, a world without sin. He would be the worlds' salvation, not just some random killer, it couldn't be. She wouldn't answer him again, not like this. She was fighting it now, he'd hurt her somehow and now she was fighing the hold Xol was trying to put on her, via the sedative*

"Fight all you want little lady, there is no Mastema in shining armor coming to help you. You are alone. Alone with me and my hatred for you and your... husband." He practically spat the word out as he shook his head at her pathetic attempt to drown him out by turning her head.

Again Xol raised the back of his gauntlet to Nana's face, manipulating it so she was eye to eye with him again.

"Look at me when I speak Angelic trash! I am a Seraphim, a holy being bestowed upon with the power to lead your feeble kind and you will not disrepect me by ignoring my words!" He growled viciously, snapping his jaw tightly at the end of his sentence. In all actuality though, he wasn't holy anymore, far from it, yet Nana didn't know that. Even if she could sense his demonic aura, he doubted at this stage in the interrogation that she would be able to comprehend what it meant. Or find a feasible way to explain it to herself.

"So tell me... why are you Fallen? I know Gabriel had something to do with it, hell, he had a little something to do with me Falling as well. I have a history with that vile Archangel too you know. However, it is not the time nor the place to get into it. For right now I want to know why the very mention of his name produces such deep feelings of pain, pain that is so hard to bear that it makes your very soul cry." His voice was strangely sincere, yet poignant at the same time as if he was being truthful to her. Perhaps another calculated strike at her emotional instability? Or just maybe he truly wanted to know what immense hurt Gabriel had caused her.

Xol made his way to the smaller table next to him and picked up some gauze, walking back to Nana and wiping her tears as well as the blood from the wound he had caused to her right eye area. With the bleeding somewhat quelled for the moment, he tossed the bloodied and tear soaked gauze aside to resume his place at Nana's front.

........then you're with Gabriel...... but.... where is he?

*Saying he was something holy meant he was probably with the heavens, but a Seraphim? Nana had never seen a Seraphim in all her three thousand years, though she knew what one was. "But where is he?" that was a perplexing comment, who was she talking about? Gabriel perhaps or, someone else, Mastema maybe?*

.....fallen.... Seraphim.......

*So the true had come out, he wasn't holy at all, this character was just as she. A fallen being, who had also been tricked or betrayed by Gabriel? Then why harm her if they had so much in common, was it simply because of Mastema? Was this man on of his enemies? The gauze scratched a little, but that wasn't out of the ordinary. However Nana wouldn't answer, just what had happend, that was her secret. A secret only three people knew, herself being one, but this man would not be the fouth, though with Gabriel around so much of late it was soon to become quite clear anyhow*

*Suddenly, both Xol and his computer would probably be able to detect a large spike of power in Than's rejuvination tube. The pinkish nanite fluid was become a deeper red. Was Than bleeding this profusely? Or worse yet, was he already healed? That would be impossible.... since Xol's computer should have detected Than's recovery, even if it was supposed to take much longer to heal such wounds. The 100% tint on the tube would keep everything happening in the tube hidden from view*

Power spik...

"I know! No more interuptions unless he's close to death or wakes." He had of course felt Than's recent power spike, however as of right now it held no importance to what he was currently doing. For the moment...

His attention focused back on Nana. "Am I with Gabriel? Hardly. I know he's in the region though. If we do meet, expect one of us to not walk away." Why would she be asking that question? How could she honestly think he would be working for and or with Gabriel. His hatred for that particular Angel was only topped be a certain overlord of the Underworld.

"Yes... I am Fallen. How very astute of you to notice. The only one of my kind to ever achieve such an impossible feat." It was pretty impressive that she figure it out so quickly. Perhaps he wasn't masking his demonic aura as well as he should, or... maybe she had heard of him before this, in Heaven. Not ruling out the fact that he was still notorious in Heaven for his actions. Such slaughter he had caused. So many Angels.

Xol's mind snapped back from his dwelling in the past and his face got slightly more stern. "Let you go? No, not quite yet love..."

*Much like Xol, Nana was the only witness ever to become a fallen. The others were still in the service and as far as they knew, Nana was dead. The only way Nana even knew is because Xol had said himself "I am a Seraphim", "Gabriel had something to do with it, hell, he had a little something to do with me Falling as well", so how could Nana not connect the two, when it wasspelled right out for her? Xol must not have been thinking*

"Oh, not talking now? C'mon Nana, you can open up to me. I'm a pretty nice guy unless it concerns your husband. If you had any doubts before let me clear them up for you. Yes, we're enemies, yes I hate Mastema... beyond even perhaps my hatred for Gabriel. Just maybe. I'll have to see Gabriel again and then my hatred for him will probably jump up a few notches." He chuckled, a slight grin parting his lips as he placed both gauntleted hands to either side of her head again, forcing her to look into one direction.

"Hmm, so what now. Do I torture you more or let you go. Torture? Freedom... torture?" Xol backhanded her across the opposite cheeck, not as hard as before, but enough to sting.

"Besides I sincerely doubt there's anything you can do about it anyway... isn't that right my weak little snowflake."

Mastema

PostPosted: Wed Aug 24, 2005 7:19 pm

*Before another few moments could pass, there was a loud cracking sound. As reinforced as the glass walls of the tube may have been, something had cracked them. Another moment passed and the glass itself would collapse, leaving the nanite solution to spill over the surrounding floor. Simultaneously, Mastema would leap from the spilling nanites and right towards the table. Xol would have but a glimpse of seeing his hated being before Mastema flung a beam of red energy towards Xol's head. Hopefully Xol was thinking, for if he dodged the beam or allowed it to continue on its path, Mastema's beam would, intentionally, go right through Phia's tube. This would leave Xol with little time to contemplate just how Mastema had entered* evil
