5th year clarinet player and junior at Chamberlain High School. I started playing in 6th grade to get at the chorus teacher who wanted me to join his class badly. Marched for 2 years and had to stop due to graduating credits, and now I feel so lonly since all my friends are in band.(I don't know anyone outside of band crying , it stinks)Over the summer my renting payments for my clarinet finally reached owning cost and I'm now the proud owner of a wood clarinet (I love it it's only the 2nd wood clarinet of our marching band!)Yay that's my story. 4laugh

Hi! I'm a junior in the Big Red marching band. I play Bb clarinet and I just got an Eb a few days ago, so I am really excited to learn to play both 3nodding I can play a little oboe and tenor sax, but I've played my clarinet for 7 years now, so it's definately my favorite. I'm first chair and section leader and I just really love playing so I thought this would be a fun place to be 4laugh

We start school tomorrow! Yay! I miss being in school, yeah I know how that sounds but I've been out of school for a month, & I'm ready to see my friends again. Our band room is getting tile now cuz the carpet got wet a lil as I have said before. But the sound is gonna be WAY off, when our band is used to carpet & now will have to deal with tile. Its really hard for our band to do pp, we play really well, & with good tone & all, but we just have like 3 sound levels: f, ff, & OHMYGOD!!!! Hey, what section is supposed to be the loudest/softest etc? I forgot.

Hiya! i've been playing the clarinet for about 6 years and i'm a senior in Fullerton High. playing the clarinet came to me just by chance because in Jr high, my parents reeeeeeeally wanted me to pick a good elective so i could find "myself" and suggested that i choose band. so i joined the band and picked the clarinet because the band director told me that they needed more clarinets (which was not true, they had like, 30 freakin' clarinets >.<) So band and music is my life now biggrin , and i'm now first chair and section leader in marching band, first chair (sometimes but mostly, we love switching the music around so everyone gets a chance at first wink ) in concert band, and second chair in symphic band and i'm still playin' and luvin' it all!!!!! 3nodding

Im in 8th grade and ive been playing clarinet since the beginning of 4th grade. i started cuz my dad played the clarinet and i wanted to also. im in my junior high schools marching/concert band.(we have games in the fall and a concert in the spring.) i heart heart heart heart heart heart my clarinet and it is wood on the outside and plastic on the inside. im better than the 9th graders and im really good (i guess...) but this year a n00b (a 7th grader) joined and she is better than me! (but i can play the highest notes on the clarinet and she cant) ha ha! and FYI to anyone who cares, its band GEEK not band nerd.

I've been playing in the clarinet family for seven years now...wow...and i've been playing bass clarinet since seventh grade which is four years ago now. And the best I love em both to no end. ^_^

I love your siggy vindiya! on another NOTE...(band humor) i think jr high marching band has way too easy music and too easy marching steps. we play some cool songs though, like tequila, a groovy kind of love, can you feel the love tonite, margaritaville, cheeseburger in paridice, sleigh ride, lets get it started, yeah, somewhere over the rainbow, wha'd i say, colonial bogey march, and 76 trombones(which is really hard cuz we have really freakin fast triplets and the counter melody) i really love band but next year ill be in 9th grade and some of my friends will be in high school and im going to get stuck as being the half-time line leader and my co-line leader will be a horrible clarinet player(if my one friend quits) who is just now learning the notes that i learned and 4th grade and she is a horrible marcher who cant march an 8 to 5(im not sure what your band calls them) and she is rude and thinks she marches correctly.(ha!)
