Ok just bringing this out of word association before that becomes a conversational thread!
Claustrophobia: I don't get it too badly. There have been only two occasions I can remember really panicking about it.
Once was when I went caving (not proper caving, it was a practice setup made from concrete tunnels. The space was very small and you had to crawl through. It was a horrible experience I don't intend to repeat.
The other time was in the crowd to see Electric Six at Reading last year. I went right into the crowd with my mates (all male and tall) who wanted to see them. The crowd was squashed so tightly together and I lost my friends. I was jammed between several tall guys and couldn't see a thing. During the first song a guy stood next to me saw that I was extremely distressed and so asked If I wanted to go up and crowd surf out. I did so because although normally I would never crowd surf it was the only way out. :/ It was very scary for me.

I find the idea of it fascinating even though I am not afflicted same with agoraphobia although that has diverse meanings.
I have only come close once & that sounds similar to the caving. We were visiting a burial site & were encouraged to worm down into one of the mounds (you couldn't actualy get into the tomb area that would be twisted xp ) A mixture of the closeness & the fact I was young & told it was full of dead people made me freak out & I nearly got stuck in the passage.
Once I'd clamed down & got out I was fine. But I remember the feeling, sometimes fondly & sometimes not.
Crowd surfing isn't that bad! Though it does account for my slightly wonky nose.

I don't like crowdsurfing because I have been kicked in the face/sat on/ squashed by so many people I choose not to inflict the same treatment on others!
