Boone sighed and dug his fingers in the sand. He tried to calm down abit before speeking again.
''Nah I'm sorry..I've been getting pissed off very easily these days.''
He sighed and looked out towards the ocean.

Jack had to think long and hard not to reply in a clinical manner like he was used to. He had never been a great people person. One hell of a surgeon, sure, but not a people person.
"Don't worry about it. At least you're not pulling a Sawyer on me," Jack chuckled.
Using humor as a defence mechanism. Way to go, Jack, he thought.

Jack thought for a moment.
"No kidding," he replied. "What have you been up to lately?"
What was he supposed to say?

Boone sighed once more and scratched his head.
''I wish we could just get off this damned island..''
He added, quite quickly.

Jack was torn. He wanted to get off the island and back to civilization, to technology, to his routine. Then again, on the island he didn't have to face reality, his family, his practice.
"I don't know. Sometimes I'm convinced that this is a blessing in disguise, at other times I'm convinced we really are in hell," Jack commented.

''I only see the bad side...back in LA, I was sad and lonely...but I could hide that easily and pretend like I had so much fun all the times and that I was so happy. Here..I just can't seem to be able to do that...''
He trailled off, practicly lost in his own thoughts.
''Everything, every goddamn memories are coming back''
He then continued.

"It's hard to make it look like you're having fun when in one way or another you seem to be at odds with everyone. I know it's hard sometimes. Hell, it's hard all the time, but you have to remember that you can't change the past or focus on the future so much that you don't live in the present. Give it some time," Jack said lightly.
He wished it was that easy.

Boone mumbled under his breath. He had practicly spent the last months alone..well he was with Locke, but that was like being alone most times. He wished he would have died in the plane accident a month ago.

Jack sighed.
"Doubt that I know, or doubt that it takes time?" Jack continued.
Sometimes the human element was the hardest thing about a relationship. Most people think it's the only part of a relationship, but Jack had learned that there are other parts, too, only the hard way.

"I may not know exactly what you know, but I get the idea. Not that I'm pretending to know everything. It's because I don't know anything that I can't say the right thing here, so I won't even try. As for taking time, I'm still trying to believe it myself. I've been told that millions of times, but I'm still trying to get over things that happened years ago. I can't promise that it'll happen, but at least we can work towards a common greater good," Jack said flatly.
He was completely out of consoling words. Jack decided that a change in subject was desperately needed soon, before he drove both himself and Boone crazy.

Boone stayed quiet. He was blanckly staring out towards the ocean. He looked abit lost, like he wasn't there anymore. Though he often looked like this. Just when he was about to loose it, he'd stop talking and thinking for a few minutes. It usualy calmed him down.
