Maebe continued not to say anything, because Maebe wasn't there anymore. She stood there and let him examine the back of her arm, and when he let it go it simply dropped like dead weight against her arm. Her body swayed, just enough to be noticeable, and her head lifted from its last position, which had been staring at her shoes. It lifted because it heard his voice, and that caught her attention. She turned her head, her hair curtaining her features well until they were eye to eye. Eyes to sickening green eyes. She only stared at him for a moment, eyes unfocused and unseeing, before her jaw dropped open and she lunged, hissing, ready to feast.

He was more upset than he wanted to admit that he was. Jude didn't want to hit Maebe, he didn't want to do anything that would put her in danger but ... He'd already done that, "I'm sorry," he breathed out as his weapon lashed out at her.
"I'm really, really sorry." He repeated quietly trying to hold back tears of frustration. DMG: 9

When the lights went out, Noah reached for Peyton as she reached for him, and caught her sleeve. He crouched with her, checking the floor for a light, and found nothing; as the chaos swirled and grew around them, he went to one knee for stability, keeping hold of her coat. Dark. It was dark, and there were things coming to get them, and knowing what the things were this time didn't make a damn bit of difference to the way his heart was pounding wildly in his chest and keeping him from breathing properly. The scrap of logic and reason remaining to him said the same thing as the looming panic: stay still, don't attract attention. "Don't move," he choked out, "wait, wait for the lights unless something," and his voice cut itself off. It was dark, and there were things coming to get them, and it was forever in the dark and yet only a blink of time had passed when the lights flickered back up, and even though he could see now and the threat was immediate, it took Noah painfully long moments to unfreeze and let go and stand up and summon with hands that shook violently. "Sorry," he choked, and looked around to see if he could find America and Kostya too. In his head, Laz bubbled and snarled incoherently, hungry and straining to get at something to bite, not caring in the least that something to bite was other zombies.

The unsatisfactory response from Mark, the reply Robert gave him, and the feeling of Shu's attack against her shield all seemed to blur together. Mimsy tensed and tightly closed her eyes, wanting this to all just slow down so she could make some sense of it, so she could find a solution that did not violate either her agreement with ALICE or her own set of rules and guidelines. But while she was trying to work with slow, calculated intentions, Robert moved quickly; the tiny semblance of a plan that she had begun to devise was all gone, ruined, and her own husband was hurting Shu. Hurting the girl they had accepted into their family, that she had promised she would keep safe. And he hadn't even asked. Svensyl's thin, scalpel-eqsue edge was pressed firmly against his sternum with one hand, and her other was desperately clutching at the shoulder of Shu's coat. She couldn't recall consciously summoning him, nor could she remember moving at all, and this all might have been more alarming if she were not decidedly fine with this result. "Robert. Stop it." The pressure of the vorpal blade grew more insistent alongside her pained words, strained through a raw fear of imminent betrayal. "This is not the correct course of action. You are listening to Mark without question? Without asking me? Don't you love her? Do you love her less because she is--she's a--" Her voice caught in her throat, and she shook her head, pushing harder. "Will you do this when I fall ill?" It was a quiet inquiry, more afraid than angry. "Does the 'in sickness' that accompanies our vows have exceptions? Do you still--" She didn't finish that thought either. As her shoulders rapidly rose and fell with each frantic breath, eyes dancing with a panic over his features, a faint grey crown slowly materialized atop her head. It passed like a fog between the small loops of pigtails that came to rest just above her braids, and occasionally shifted, lazy and sluggish. It didn't seem to weigh anything, having no effect on the hair beneath it, and she didn't seem to notice it in turn. " Please," she begged, struggling to keep her hand steady. Even as she lashed out at him with teeth and hands and feet, the sounds she was making indicated that Jude wasn't apologizing to Maebe anymore. Whatever she was, she was gone, and in her place was nothing but a monster. She hissed and spat when he lashed out at her, only to come back for another try at his neck. HP: 11 Damage: 5

Noemi's hands would continue to shake with the flashlight, even though she wanted to not. At this point there was no point in hiding her sniffles or tears, and even though she had been trying to move to an exit, there was too much chaos.
She felt Milo's tug on her arm, the slow reach to turn it off and she would've let him...had the lights not completely flickered on, blinding her for a moment. her eyes widened at the bodies, the infected, the friends that were infected too.
And she was shoved behind Milo as he took a swing that hit Finn. The goal was obvious it seemed. Knock the infected out.
She couldn't stand behind Milo and just watch, and even though Evan said not too, she drew her trident, moving into a sun's position.
She was really sorry Finn, but she was gonna help knock you out and then get the others and then get the hell out of here.

When the lights had gone out, Jordan had grabbed for Melvin's shoulder, hissing, "It's me, don't fight," and backed them both toward the nearest wall, because s**t like that never meant anything good. There were people grabbing flashlights and people summoning weapons, and he really wished he had some kind of artifact that let him see in the dark like Rep's, and that thought gave him a moment of aching frozen fear for the guys. He made himself put it aside. They'd keep each other safe, and he'd keep an eye on Melvin, because fluid-spewing zombies shambling around in the dark was probably the Lifer's kryptonite. The light from flashlights and weapon runes turned out to be an excellent zombie lure. "Stay back," Jordan said to Melvin, low, "and don't summon yet." It was only a few minutes before the lights came back on, but it seemed like a very long time; still, nothing grabbed or bit them. When the lights came back up, Jordan relaxed fractionally, because now that he could see, he could do something about the situation. It seemed that several people had gotten themselves bitten, and he prayed silently to whatever might be out there that they were indeed taking the patients back to be cured instead of neutralizing them more permanently. "All right?" he asked Melvin, and then stepped forward toward the wall of zombies, summoning as he moved. But he'd forgotten to check that he had enough space behind him as well as in front, and the hammer's handle jolted hard against the wall, knocking him off balance and very nearly making him drop the weapon. "s**t!" What the HELL, Ferros growled, equally embarrassed. HP: 55/60 Dmg: neutral Charge: 0/3

There was no stopping her unless he managed to bring her down a few pegs. Maybe if he knocked her out? He swung at Maebe as hard as he could, but aiming only with the blunt part of his weapon for the most part. "Just stop."
It was like a command but a command he didn't expect to be heeded. He wasn't exactly rational right now. DMG: 10 HP: 45

Rational? Neither was she. And she wasn't conscious either, as he butted her with his weapon hard enough to jar her brain right out of any last function at all. Maebe crumbled to the floor, no longer making any horrifying sounds or trying to eat her friend. If he left any lasting marks on her face, though, he was still getting his a** beat when she was back to normal.

Infected Very great shu, you missed. Even you are granted zombie power, you missed. How easy it is to snap a bite on someone, drop your weapon and use your teeth, girl. okay, I am talking to myself, I have a problem, bye.The suffocation scared her, as if it was a natural instinct, fingers dug into his hands, coughing for the release. Robert's words didn't reach her, they were more like an annoying buzz she wanna to get rid of. In the struggle, Robert received some memorial scratches from the inconceivable force used by the weak girl. Mimsy 's intervention made her paused. The scene that her parfait and hot dog tangled together was a very very weird sensation, the infected girl tilted her head as she was pulled by the coat, picked up like a kitten. Everything was processed so retarded besides the hunger, gradually she started to struggle. "L..e......t....m....e.....g....o" The hand with the hammer swung in air, the amazing aroma invaded her respiratory system inevitably. HP: 7/ 20

Robert's hold was tight, firm, unyielding. Shu tried as hard as she could, but there was no escaping his choke hold - and he felt her flailing underneath him, trying to get to him even now - and knew that she wasn't in her right mind. All around him, Hunters - their own friends, co-workers, people they fought beside - were being struck until unconscious. He knew she needed to be put down, and nobody was allowed to touch Shu like that. Nobody was going to hurt her, while he was around.
He felt Mimsy's blade, even if it did only slide through his shield for now. Jazzy's screams coupled with the pain of the attack turned his face a violent shade of red, enraged that he'd been put in a situation this unfair. He turned around quickly, still choking Shu unconscious and putting her between himself and Mimsy.
"Don't ********' HURT ME, MIMSY." He screamed, absolutely livid. "I'm PROTECTING her, from THEM. I'm doin' this BECAUSE I love her, god DAMNIT."
She wouldn't see. She wouldn't get it. And in that moment, Robert had never been angrier at his wife. It burned through him like fire, tearing and shredding at every last piece of who he thought he was. He couldn't stand it.
"You're damn right I'd do this if you got zombified. I'd knock you out, and take you home, and take care of you where nobody could ever hurt you, ever again. Put your ********' weapon away, Mimsy. I ain't asking nicely twice."

Jude sighed deeply and waited for a few moments to get his breath and emotions back into some sort of control. "********' crazy s**t."
There were worse things that he could have gone through, he was sure.
He waited for someone to come take care of Maebe. Cause he certainly couldn't do a damn thing with her knocked, but infected form.
There were still others to take care of as well...
He'd get to that when he knew Maebe was okay.

"There are methods of protection that do not result in the necessity of your charge being protected from you," Mimsy spat, sword slipping as she finally faltered. "We could--we could have determined a solution together. Something best suited for all of us. Together. We are supposed to be partners. Together. Do you no longer want to be my partner in matters of...if..." Her jaw clenched painfully, eyes flashing with a fury that could not find its way to words, and the faint crown remained ever-present, as if it were quite pleased to be here at this particular moment. Though he hadn't exactly asked nicely the first time, her grip loosened around the vorpal sword's hilt, and the weapon clattered to the ground between them. Her tightly knit brow twitched in a way that implied something hurt somewhere - which was a bit odd, considering the scissors from her pocket had not been buried in her stomach. DMG: 10 HP: 37
