Well, the girls' dormitories are enchanted to not let boys in...maybe it's the same for the bathrooms? So really we should look out for peeping Tiffanies. stare

Hello everyone. I'm just committing a first year would find the prefect's to be a great place to sneak into after lots and lots of studying and just relax...if only they learned the password. Eavesdropping, we need hallways for that. Anyway, I was wondering a few things. Are there ghosts? New ones or the same? And what of Peeves? And is there night, like middle of the night for us to illegally walk around in? >> I was filling out my profile and a bunch of people didn't seem to know this one; what does “face claim” mean? Do you think JK Rowling’s books actually exist (except as history books) and that maybe people have read them? Or is the tale of Harry Potter merely told by word of mouth, do you think?

Hi! There used to be a ghost, but she was a student/ghost, and did not show up regularly and was expelled. No ghosts, but maybe someday!
There's not really an out-of-bounds time, since we're all from different time zones, so feel free to explore whenever!
I think face-claim means what is an identifying mark on your posts so we always know it is you?
I think Harry Potter's story is told orally, but that's just me! I hope you have fun here! 3nodding

If you decide you want to walk around at night then you could mention that in your post and if anybody reads that they could follow along with it and not interact with you or a prefect (like myself *cough*) could pretend they were patrolling and get you in trouble.

It's nice to have fewer chances of getting detention, but it's still sort of sad, considering how about half of the books' plots are at night. And thank you so much for what a face claim is. I just couldn't figure it out. I'm the type of person who likes to search for the answer before hand to make it not quite as silly of a question, but I just couldn't find it. I agree with the oral telling, since You-Know-Who was told orally. I just didn't know if you had a precedent.
And I'll behave for a while at least, Sparrow. It's just my character's supposed to be a trickster, so she has to plan pranks at night. Because of the wonderfully attentive prefects. ^_^

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot about this earlier....can students learn spells outside of the classroom? Such as going to the library and finding a book then practicing, or having a more advanced student teach it to them? Or must we wait for each spell to be taught in class?

Welcome, and just so you know, in the guild we actually have the Harry Potter series in the library. There are a few people that looked at them but they said things like, 'Who would believe this garbage? A twelve-year-old boy defeating a basilisk? As if.' Also, I think you have to wait for teachers to teach you. After all, that might rob them of their jobs.

You can learn spells outside of the classroom, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. After all Harry and the gang learned to perform spells not taught in the class room. Just don't go learning subjects that your year would not be able to do, no matter how smart you are.

1) Yes, a ghost would infact be pretty awesome, we could have someone who we know is active in the guild play that role as well, once they have been here for a few weeks and swear to still post in classes.
2) Yes we do have the HP series in the library, and no twilight series, that was burned (Thank God)
3) you can of course learn spells in the library, but if that's the only way you learn spells, then no. (I know you wouldn't probably do this, just giving and example) Like, if someone goes in the library and starts reading up on 6th year spells when they just got here, then yea, as Kenneth said, that would be a bit much. But sure, Hermione certainly did it XD
