Desdemona was just positioning herself in the headmistress’s chair and admiring her new home when she was disturbed by a fierce rapping at the doors to her office. Angrily, she snarled and rose to confront the would-be intruder.
Upon opening the great doors, Desdemona discovered this uninvited guest was quite attractive. She was pale as alabaster, with piercing blue eyes, plump, pouting lips, and long raven hair. This beauty could not have been older than thirty, and she had willingly fallen into Desdemona’s hands. “No one is to disturb the headmistress. Not for anything,” she said harshly.
Anger flashed in the visitor’s eyes and she drew herself up, becoming even taller than before. ‘Oh God,’ thought Desdemona, watching as she parted her pink lips to speak.

 The black hands of fury grasped Catalina again as she stared at the woman in the headmistress’s office. “Pues, I have no idea why you are involved in this situation, but I really must speak to Headmistress van Nikolai. As the Muggle Studies profesora, I find these new changes to be-” she paused. “Unacceptable.”

Her mind reeling as she listened to the professor’s grumbling about Muggle Studies, Desdemona blindly shot her claw-like hands out and gripped the teacher’s arms, digging her nails into her skin.
“Insubordination!” she screamed, and in one swift movement she had pulled the woman into the office and locked the doors from the outside.
Desdemona threw the professor on the cold, stone ground and shouted, “Muggles are worthless vermin! And those who champion vermin are scum. ” She watched as the teacher’s large eyes widened in fear and her chest heaved.

Catalina looked up at her assailant with a mixture of surprise and fear. This woman had an explosive temper and an intense hatred of nonmagical folk. It was unlike Catalina to be afraid, but this situation was bizarre.
Crawling into a sitting position, she said, “Quizas it is not the headmistress who suddenly dislikes muggles. Where is Lillian van Nikolai? If she knew one of her teachers was being attacked she would have defended them.” She stared pointedly at her captor.

Smirking, Desdemona looked at the intuitive little muggle-lover crouching before her. “Well, aren’t we clever? Name and pedigree.”

Offended by the belittling tone of Desdemona’s voice, she said firmly, “Catalina Constanza, half-blood."

Taking in the professor’s angry beauty, Desdemona sighed. “What a shame. No wonder you favor mudbloods and muggles and spread your lies to young, impressionable minds. You’re one of them.”
She watched as her words wounded the teacher, and then stated, “Catalina, dearest. You’re far too clever to send back to teach your precious Muggle Studies class. You’ll lie to the students and tell the other professors of my plans to rule Hogwarts. What shall we do with you?”
As she spoke, Desdemona stepped closer to Catalina, knelt down, and gently stroked the glossy raven locks that were the envy of many females.

Shuddering as Desdemona touched her, Catalina discreetly pulled her wand from her sleeve. “I suppose you will have to catch me first. IMPEDMENTA!” she cried.

Howling, Desdemona was launched through the air, landing square against the stone wall of the office. Winded, she took a few seconds to recover, then got to her feet and shrieked, “YOU’LL PAY FOR THAT MUDBLOOD!”

“Expelliarmus!” Desdemona cried, and Catalina’s wand was whipped out of her hand and into Desdemona’s clutches. Snarling, she said, “Wands are for wizards and witches, not filthy half bloods like you, Catalina.”
She smirked, and continued, “I’m creating a new world order, and it begins with Hogwarts. You see, as you know, education is very important. Once we train the young, impressionable minds of children from the purest of wizarding families, we can rule the world.”

Catalina was in shock. Not only from the stupidity of creating an opening that cost her her wand, but the fact that this Desdemona sought world domination. It seemed far-fetched, but not unattainable. After all, the Dark Lord himself once created a similar environment in the school. Still, this was not going to happen. Not while Catalina was here to stop it.
“Lo siento,” Catalina began, parting her plump lips into a frown. “Do you think you will get away with this plot? Many others here will not advance any of your plans. You should return Headmistress van Nikolai and be gone. The world you desire is-” she paused. “Unacceptable.”

Rage bubbled once again in Desdemona’s mind. “You! You disgusting creature will bow before my greatness! My vision is not to be mocked!” Desdemona was used to people not sharing the same thoughts as she, but this woman! She was stubborn and needed to be taught a lesson.
“CRUCIO!” she screamed, watching as the muggle-lover squirmed and writhed in pain. As before when torturing dear Lilly, Desdemona seemed to float above the scene, watching as though it were a performance for her enjoyment. Catalina’s screams were almost pleasurable.

A sudden sharp pain ripped though Catalina’s body, like red-hot knives. She jerked her head back, arms twitching as she willed the torture to finish, but Desdemona was not finished yet. Catalina thought she heard someone screaming, but the pain numbed her mind so much she could not look to see whom.
Catalina writhed in agony for what seemed hours while her attacker soothed her anger.

((I know we're doing fun school takeover stuff right now, but I just wanted to pop in and say that I won't be back til Sunday. ^_^; Got an anime convention to attend. So, sorry I'll be missing the fun!))
