Aimee Lynne Cox

'Yes. That's exactly I hate you. Wait, back up. What bargain?' Aimee played with the fingers of one of Lilly's hands, marveling at their simple features. My hands now, my fingers. How could I have waited so long? She thought it was astounding that Lilly could sleep through the noises. Then again, she's always been a log when she sleeps. I doubt she'd notice if I kissed her.

Vincent Tidal

'The one where I join in on one of your bedroom games.' Vincent noticed some of her thoughts came to him unbidden. He chuckled.

'Kiss her then. See what happens.' Vincent looked over at the door, knocking come from there.

'I'll take care of this, don't worry about it.' Vincent had done some very good things when he had killed those girls. Like dropping their body temp so it looked like they died at two am. Ten minutes later the officer had his report and left again.

'Did you kiss her?'

Aimee Lynne Cox

Aimee vowed to do nothing of the sort; she did not appreciate Vincent practically presuming to just jump into bed with them, hardly before she'd even had a chance in jump in herself! Still, kissing Lilly sounded like a plan...Aimee rolled over in Lilly's arms, facing her now. Lilly stirred, but didn't wake; Aimee smiled slightly and pressed her lips to Lilly's, kissing her. When the sirens and shouting outside didn't wake her friend, the kiss did; Aimee was suddenly aware that she was being kissed back. They resurfaced soon enough, much to Aimee's annoyance.

"Hey..."

"Did you sleep alright?"

Lilly smiled. 'Kissed her? Of course I did; but not because you told me to. I'm still angry at you.'

"I'm better now. So, so much better."

She grinned and kissed Aimee's nose cutely, giving it a quick swipe of her tongue, making Aimee laugh.

"After classes today, I was thinking we'd head down to the beach for the weekend. And who knows, maybe I'd even bring my board. But only if you'd surf with me."

"To get you surfing again, I'd walk through fire!"

Vincent

Vincent heard the words beach and surf come from Lilly's room. He finished cooking what he had been working on and dolled out three platefuls of food.

"Hey ladies, food is ready." Vincent turned on the TV and of course the first thing was a live report in front of the dorm about the double suicide. Jeez they just have to do a report on it. Vincent flicked it to international news, it was in Chinese, and he didn't care.

Aimee Lynne Cox

Aimee made a face, making Lilly laugh and move to kiss her again.

"We'll be out in a sec. We just need to get dressed."

"Do you know how that sounds?"

"It's kind of why I phrased it that way, silly goose."

Lilly winked and rolled away from Aimee, off of her small bed. She dressed quickly with her back to her roomy in a pair of much beloved, paint-stained jeans and a yellow tee-shirt. Aimee stripped down as well, changing out of her borrowed PJ's into more borrowed clothes of Lilly's. Not for the first time, and not for the last, she was taking advantage of the fact that they were more or less the same size. They drifted out of Lilly's room into the small kitchen. Aimee sniffed appreciatively.

"That smells good, Vincent. What're we having?"

"And why is our television speaking at me in Chinese? Or is that Japanese? I can never tell with the gooks."

She giggled, and while Aimee was distracted, gawking at the pretty girl muttering something or another, Lilly stole one of their two forks, earning her first bite rights.

Vincent

Vincent chuckled as Lilly missed her chance at the first bite.

"I'm gonna have to get forks aren't I?" Vincent flicked the TV back to CNN and of course it was on the local report about the double suicide. Vincent groaned inaudibly.

"I just wanted unbiased international news. CNN is to leftist and Fox is to right wing. What else is there, but something not influenced by politics in this nation?" Vincent continued eating before he remembered she asked what he cooked.

"Hash browns, tofu, and tomatoes." Vincent took another bite.

Aimee Lynne Cox

"Forks are for people without imagination. You know the type, Lilly."

Aimee dropped her voice into a whisper that conveyed the pure horror she was feeling at it as she plucked apart a tofu square into biteable chunks.

Mathmatic majors."

The two girls shuddered in shared dismay. Lilly had had a boyfriend their freshman year who'd been a mathmatic major. He'd been a bore on all levels that mattered.

"Wait. You want unbiased news so you flip onto a channel doesn't even speak our language? That seems a little retarded, Vincent."

Lilly giggled; she took pitty on Aimee and passed her the fork.

Vincent

"Yes, well only to those that have trouble translating. Anyways that news didn't have this." Vincent pointed to the screen, where they now had a psychiatrist speculating on why the two women had done what they did.

"I heard something about the beach and surfing while I was cooking. If you haven't noticed, I love the water." Vincent chuckled taking another dozen bites of the food on his plate.

Aimee Lynne Cox

"Didn't have..."

Aimee trailed off when she realized what they were watching. She ignored the food on her plate and therefore the fork in her hand. A slow sense of horror crawled over her skin.

"Lilly, those girls live in our building...oh..."

"What a shame. They were so young, too."

Lilly shook her head mournfully.

"The beach? Oh yeah, Aimee wants to head down for the weekend; it'll be great. Hell, I'm even playing hooky to my own art show for this."

Vincent

Vincent finished his plate of food and walked over to the sink dropping the plate into it. 'If she's gonna ditch her art show we might as well tell her now.' Vincent washed the plate quickly and then leaned against the counter watching his two charges.

"So we are going to need a truck. I assume you two have your own boards." He had one, it was, well it was in the south pacific at the moment, in a museum. Hawaiians took their surfing seriously.

"I'll have to get a new one, mine was left in China when I came back." Easy enough he had a nearly limitless supply of money and could at his choice move faster than a car.

"Late Friday and hit the waves in the morning or Early Saturday and hit the evening tide." Vincent was now really interested.

Aimee Lynne Cox

'Later.' Aimee was still watching the television, soaking in the news. She had a sneaking suspicion that those girls hadn't died of natural causes, but had had a visit from Vincent the precious night; a visit that had been expressly prohibited by Aimee. 'Vincent...you didn't do that to the girls, did you?' She didn't even protest when Lilly took the fork back from her to finish her own breakfast in quick bites.

"I don't surf, snugglepup, but Aimee here's pretty good at it. Or at least she was."

Lilly shrugged and moved to put her own stuff in the sink; she tossed Aimee back the fork before rising the plate off. Aimee sounded distracted when she finally picked up on the cue and spoke.

"Yeah, Friday sounds good."

Vincent

'No, suicide would be Libby's style not mine love.' Vincent washed Lilly's plate quickly and continued to watch Aimee. She was shaken by the news of the two girls being dead. Oh well.

"So what classes do you two have today, anything I could sit in on?" Vincent was trying to pull Aimee's attention from the TV, he didn't need her mopping around all day.

Aimee Lynne Cox

Aimee didn't believe Vincent, not exactly, but she accepted his answer, mostly because she wanted to believe it. She shook her head free of such thoughts and flipped the television back to the international news before turning to her food; she thought shew as going to throw up. Aimee quickly pushed the food away and silently counted to five; an old trick that never failed her or her stomach.

"I'm not hungry anymore."

"Oh sweetie..."

The endearment sounded odd, coming from Lilly; it was just strange to think of it aimed at herself. Lilly took Aimee's plate and scrapped off the food before hand cleaning it and passing it off to Vincent to dry. He had the towel, after all.

"I don't know about sitting in. Today, we're doing shadows. I don't think Professor McKay would like another student in there very much. Sorry."

"That's okay, Lilly-pad; we've plenty of room in my courses. A riveting afternoon filled with the intricacies of picking apart the stories of long dead authors to discover the hidden meanings and what literary devices were used to create those meanings and make the reader sympathetic to such meanings."

Aimee actually smiled.

Vincent

"A treatise on classical, non-classical, and alienated authors. Sounds like a good class. Count me in." Vincent got up and went into the bathroom. He came out in clothing that made him look professional, yet suave and smooth. The international news was on, coverage on the oil spill. Vincent felt his anger boil up. He flick the TV turned off, to Lilly it looked like Aimee had done it, still sitting ******** BP, I'd like to get my hands around Bush, the CEO of BP and the safety engineers." Vincent had ripped these thoughts from other people, and knew more and more about the spill. He would probably kill someone before it is over with.

Aimee Lynne Cox

"Agreed. I mean, what kind of a*****e even drills for oil to begin with? Especially in such a temperamental area."

Aimee sighed silently, ignoring the two eco-nuts arguing. She wasn't all that fond of how..."extreme" Lilly was about the certain aspects of her inner "hippie." Most often, Aimee just let Lilly rant and was that "crying shoulder."

"I gotta take a shower before classes start; try not to kill any conservative or big buisness heads while I'm gone. 'Scuse me."

She left quickly, not wanting to get sucked into the hate fest.
