Pretty much the only requirement here is being nice, friendly, and get to know people. I like to think of this charity guild as a starting zone for newbs before they tackle the big main thread. Our regular posters are super awesome and Yuuka, Psy, and myself try to pop in regularly to chit chat.
You can also visit the charity's thread in the forums. We've got donation applications open right now until the 15th or if we get 10 applications first.

*moving the topic about items here* Psy used to be that way too. I know it's better to keep them as items than sell them for gold values because items will go up as the market fluctuates.

As for items - sometimes they go up - sometimes they go down. Like the long braided hair from a couple RIGs back - was up into the 2 mil when I opened one - by the time I sold it - it was down to about 300k. The current RIG hair items started out high too - but have been steadily dropping - so when I opened a couple of them - I put them in the marketplace. If at some point I decide I want one - I hope it will have settled at a decent price.
There's a lot that knowing values and the cycle of things helps. The best times to sell and EI are either when it first comes out - or when the first gen hits it's final evolution [if it's a good item]. The longer one waits - the lower the price gets because there are more and more of them on the market that have all the same poses.
Unopened RIGs value goes up the longer they've been 'out of stock' - but it's really hard to resist opening them. The same is true of MC envelopes - if the items in them are decent. Items from RIGs tend to go down in value unless they're the super rare item as people either have them, or realize they can live without them/they arn't as great as they thought they were.
There's so much, however, that revolves around being able to guess how much demand there is going to be in the future for the item and in hitting the market at just the right time.
Think about it - the Coco and Kiki mascot suits used to go for over a million each - now they barely go for a few thousand.
*Sigh* trying to keep up with it is hard.
