Chess swallowed, understanding everything Kirama meant, and she put her noodles down with the chopsticks on top "I know that. But its worth trying." she was too depressed to eat now and her happy moment had been ruined by Kirama's arrival. She pulled her knees up to her chest and buried her head in them, hiding her face "I hate being a shinobi. But I can't stop because then other people will get hurt...like Apollo or Nash." she rubbed her eyes on her knees and glared at Kirama over the tops "And I hate sitting here waiting and eating ramen."

"You know that they are capable of defending themselves. Everyone who becomes a ninja has a reason for doing so. It isn't something that you succeed at if you don't want to. You don't really hate it, or else you never would have made it out of the Academy." Kirama said as he ate some more noodles. It would only be a few minutes now and they would be free to go back to what they were doing before.
"Keep glaring at me like that and maybe next time I come to test him I actually will put you in a dangerous position. Look, everyone has their own motivations for doing things. Some of them may make absolutely no sense to you. Like that friend of yours Batosai for instance, but sometimes you just have to accept that, whatever it is. My motivation is to keep the Hyuuga clan strong and its secrets safe. I'm not going to be around forever though, considering how long I've been around my life expectancy isn't getting any longer, so the only way I can help them out is to teach them how to defend themselves." He said, maintaining his calm tone. Chessa wasn't anywhere close to the first to hate him for such trivial affairs. Nor would she be the last.

"I do hate it! You're not me, you can't know anything about me from just the little time we've talked!" Chess scowled angrily and moved so she was sitting with her side facing Kirama but she wasn't glaring at him anymore. She pulled her legs up tighter to her chest as she pulled her shoulders in tight too, almost curling into a ball "I made it through the Academy cause I wanted to help people. Not because I wanted to be a shinobi but I suck at anything medical so...this was all I had." she muttered and looked at the ramen again, wanting to eat but her stomach was clenched and tight. Chess sighed and put her head on her knees again then jerked it up, realizing something "You know Batosai-san? Then-" she spun around, quickly moving to sit on her knees, and leaned in, her anger forgotten for the moment "Then you've met my brother! My brother, Nash! Do you know where he is or where he went?!" her voice was anxious and worried.

"I'm afraid that I have not met this Nash. I do not know where he might be. Sorry." Kirama said as he turned his gaze away for a moment. He knew exactly what she was feeling now.

I thought..well never mind." she pulled her knees up to her chest again and rested her cheek on them, her unhappiness growing When is Apollo going to come... she closed her eyes.

Chess jumped, almost falling off her perch, and whirled to look for the voice. Spotting the clone she sighed "Oh? I thought he might be going there but...I wasn't sure." He didn't tell me about any mission... she thought sullenly, happy that Nash was safe somewhere but miffed that he hadn't come by to tell her himself "He didn't cause any trouble on the mission then?" she peered anxiously at Jaice, her blue eyes worried.

The clone smiled slightly. "If you want to know that... you should see the real thing; Nash kept an explosive tag from blowing his head apart," the clone said quietly. He didn't mention it was at the cost of his back, causing more painful burns nor did he mention that Jaice had managed to do the same, but had gotten it moments too late, burning the left side of his face badly.

"An ex- Why did he have an explosive tag near his head!?" Chess cried but kept her voice low since Apollo was supposed to be training in the woods nearby "Did he get hurt? I know he burned his back before, at the chunnin exams, but did he get burned this time?!" she held the edge of her skirt as she worried but she was angrier now. Nash should have come to see her after his little 'mission' but instead he ran off Again!

"This type of situation is exactly why the only things I do regarding organized shinobi activity are for the Hyuuga Clan. Sick and tired of seeing things go wrong, dealing with all the paper work when it's over and really tired of seeing what my students become." Kirama said as he broke a small twig off of the branch that he and Chessa were sitting on and began to twirl it between his fingers. "You wouldn't happen to know where Ayumi, my cousin, is, would you Jaice?"

The clone shrugged. "I haven't seen Ayumi but once, Kirama, and not in the past couple of years," he said dryly. "Both of them were burned, my true self and Nash; his burns aren't too bad as he deflected the tag before it detonated several feet behind him. My true self wasn't so fortunate; the entire left side of his face is burned badly," the clone said dryly, sounding somewhat dispassionate. "You should know, Kirama, that Otogakure no Sato is heavily damaged; it was likely a fight or something Tensei himself did, as his chakra hung in the air like a stench," he said dryly.

Mildly relieved that her brother hadn't been too badly burned "Well ok. I'm glad he's not hurt too bad. I'm sorry you got hurt..." Chess snuck a look at Kirama as the other man spoke, feeling fidgety now. Both men were very strong and she didn't want to be in the middle of a fight.

"Yep." Kirama said in response to the news, or rather reminder, about Sound. "I barely got out of that one. Seems these new kids have a much larger capacity for information than I do. Tensei had quite the arsenal of jutsu, stuff I've never seen before. Guess that happens when you're dead for about three months, you get a little behind. But I don't fight much anymore, at least not on the level that my fight with Tensei was, so I think I'll be fine even if I don't have the same amount of stuff under my belt. I'll just have to be better at what I know. Oh, and at least you didn't loose anything major in your fight. Like an arm." Kirama said as he wiggled his stub of a left arm under his cloak. Jaice would know that he was talking about loosing he metallic arm and not his real arm.

Chess shifted, extremely uncomfortable now that the other two were talking about fights and war. She didn't know who any of the people were that they were talking about I wish Apollo would hurry up... she thought, feeling very depressed now that she knew about Nash.

Jaice smiled slightly. "You should see what happened; it was nowhere near as easy as you'd think. Setoru was with Vientou and a kunoichi from Suna, apparently a missing-nin as well," he said quietly. He noticed a shudder for less than half a second go through Kirama at Setoru's name; Setoru had once nearly managed to take Kirama's head, though it had taken four Chuunin and Jaice himself to run the man off. He knew Kirama had a scar on his left collarbone from that pre-dawn attempt on his life. "Fortunately, Setoru will never hurt anyone else ever again," he said quietly.
"Go shopping or go eat something, Chess; be sure to put it on my tab," the clone said, noticing the kunoichi's discomfort.
