"Hrmph... The fish aren't biting today..." Bapp yawned as he retrieved the fishing line and wrapped it around the rod. He stood up and folded the chair he was sitting on before parking the things back into his tent.
"Maybe I should go apologise to the innkeeper in Barton... I made him reserve a room but I didn't sleep there in the end..." He sighed, locking up his tent.
He was too bored to just sit around to beach. Even making an extra, unneeded trip to Barton was more interesting than waiting for fish to bite.
======================= BOAT RIDE TO BARTON ======================= As he reached the port and began to walk over to the inn, he noticed a huge crowd, cheering and being noisy in general.
"Huh? what's going on?" He squeezed his way into the crowd to have a look at the event within.

Watching as the drow sharply turned his back, Coline felt a wave of sympathy wash over her. The grimace, the shakiness in his voice; it broke her heart to see him in such a state. But at the same time being able to see this side of him, the fragile and vulnerable side of the Captain she so admired, it surfaced... strange feelings.
Coline placed a gentle hand upon the Captain's back. "There is no need for you to apologize." she said, a warm smile adorning her lips. "You look beautiful... Jessie."

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. A small shudder ran through his body at her touch. Satisfied that his damp hair was once again arranged appropriately, he turned back around to face her, his heart leaping when he realised how close she'd become.
"I... I... that is..." he stammered. He wasn't accustomed to being entirely lost for words, and he could feel himself blushing again. This wasn't the kind of humiliation he'd experienced while growing up, though. Somehow, this momentary embarassment seemed to be just one small part of a larger, drawn-out pleasurable experience.
Eventually, he recovered his grasp over language, after swallowing and giving a small cough. "I'm afraid you are mistaken, my lotha'uss. The truly beautiful one is you."
Now that the words had begun, it seemed that they wouldn't stop. "You know why I often carry around that great, hulking sword, don't you?"
Greeted with a blank look, as he'd expected, he carried on. "It's a basic psychological trick. If your opponent is distracted by the obvious danger they can see, they won't notice the greater impending danger until it's too late." He knelt down slowly, snapping back up with the dagger he'd concealed in his boot now in his hand.
He looked at her eyes, mesmerised, for a few moments, before glancing down to lay the knife on the desk. "You would do well to learn such a trick, my little one," he said softly "I..."
Words suddenly failing him again, he looked back up at her in a sort of despair. "I don't know what I would do if something happened to you. I know we've been acquainted for only a few weeks, but... you're so special, Coline. I see so much of myself in you, and so many things I wish I could be... things that I cherish in my heart."
While speaking, his hands had moved, almost of their own accord, to her waist. He was brought back to earth by the feel of her robe under his hands as his fingers gently ran themselves up and down her sides.
He released her and looked away, suddenly horrified at himself. "Th-this isn't right, is it? If I was overstepping the mark earlier today, I've only gone and sprinted across it now." Stumbling a little, he tried to shift around her and make a quick escape. "If you want to leave now... well.. perhaps that would be best. I don't know."
This was what he said, but... inside, he was screaming.
Please, don't leave. Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb (( EDITTED cos I'm scared ;o; ))

(( A small time skip for Pseudoverseer to help me jump back in. I am sorry for jumping ahead, Meta. I will make it up to you. )) Coming from the direction of the Training Grounds, the Overseer was walking erratically towards the shining temple, and as he lifted and looked under the sixteenth rock, it became obvious he was searching for something. He checked around palm trees, overturning stones and kicking up fallen leaves. That and he hadn't a stitch of clothing on. Stopping when he was, he scratched the back of his head, and sighed in frustration, throwing his arms up in the air. He stood only a few dozen paces from the stone steps leading up to the temple, and he seemed loath to go inside.

(( OH, LOOK WHO IT IS )) Be good...
Of course, during the time that it had taken the Overseer to meander his way back to the Temple, Lorika had already been to the Training Grounds and was now making her way back, worry increasingly building up inside her. Worry, worry - always worry, and not consistently for any good reason.
Relief mixed with shock was her reaction as she rounded the corner of the path to the Temple. She almost broke into a sprint, but to be totally honest she was completely worn down from the physical exertion of her wild goose chase, and so just walked up to him quietly as he dithered.
"There you are," she said calmly, amidst a long sigh. She probably sounded the calmest the Overseer had heard her yet, which was actually something quite close to her usual Priestess tone. He'd unfortunately never gotten to hear it properly amidst her hysterics.
She unfolded the teal and white robes from beneath her arm, and began to reach out to wrap him up in them. She hadn't batted an eyelid at his nudity; she was desensitised to it, much as a mother may be to her own infant. "Here you are. I thought you might be needing these."
...and you will be lonesome. (( Edited: just little changes. e.g, I have no idea how one can sigh calmly ))

"Hello, Rika! Have you- ... I ... err, oh, thank you." He was much more happy to see much more familiar robes before it got much colder. Graciously taking the robes from Lorika, he turned them upside down, turned them around and inside out before he figured out how to put it on. But he made it clear he wanted to do it himself, taking a step back and keeping his frustration in check. Finally, he shimmied it on, made sure it wasn't on backwards and fastened it. Smiling faintly, and then getting down to business, he made a rough estimate with his fingers. "Have you seen a green feather about this long? I lost it ... and I cannot remember where I left it." (( Her wings are green, right? ))

(( I think so.. )) Be good...
Lorika watched him struggling to put the robe on with her hands clasped and a rather blank look on her face. When he put it on and looked at her, she smiled reassuringly.
Then her expression turned thoughtful. "Hmm... you mean... one of Feline's feathers?"
She shook her head slowly. "I'm sorry," she answered quietly "I haven't seen it, or her. Perhaps later we can walk back up to the Training Grounds to look for it?"
Now she looked at him concernedly, stepping forward to take his hand. "Have you eaten, my Lord?"
...and you will be lonesome.

"I ... err ..." Derailed again, he wondered which question he was supposed to answer first, all three of them feeling like they shot at him rapidfire. Glancing furtively at the Hight Priestess, he didn't reply right away and gave the area another good looking over, hoping by a chance that the feather was here outside of the temple. This was the last place he remembered having it, and he was mortified he had already lost a gift given to him.
"... Yes, and I just did that and ... no?"

Be good...
The priestess smiled at him gently, squeezing his hand a little.
"I'm sure that Feline would be glad to give you another. Now, would you like to finally get something in that belly of yours?"
...and you will be lonesome.

Rubbing his arm and furrowing his brow, he was the picture of indecision and worry. "I would like to find the feather before the wind blows it across the island. I believe someone might have picked it up or it is already gone. Do you think Feline will be angry with me if I asked her for a second one?"

She continued to smile benignly at him. "If that's what you want to do, then I'll help you to look for it. A big, green feather... it shouldn't be too hard to find, should it?"
She giggled. "But if we can't find it... I'm sure that Feline would be honoured to grant you another of her feathers."
...and you will be lonesome.

((Sniffles, Can't belive he lost it already!!!!!!! gonk )) It had been a rough few hours of learning how to work with water at the Practice Hall and Feline had had enough. "Stupid new magic in this stupid new place with no thought to people's flying needs." She grummbled under her breath making her way to the beach. Kicking a random rock, she let out a howl as the rock stayed in one place causing her to stub her toe. Hopping about for a bit holding her toe in one hand she wished all rocks to a firey hell. When the pain went down she continued her walk to the beach. She had really enjoyed her talk with the Overseer that morning, but most of her good mood had left her after the frusterating afternoon spent learning how this new magic worked. Things had come to her so easily in her homeland. She had been the delight of all her teachers...here it was like hitting her head on a brick wall. In fact it might be more fun to hit her head on a brick wall than to learn magic in a new form. Old habits tended to get in the way, not help. Out of the corner of her eye she could have sworn she saw the Overseer walking naked to the temple, but dismissed that as ridiculous. When she got to the beach she took a moment to enjoy the feeling of the sand between her toes. As she settled down to watch the waves roll in she thought back to the suposed naked Overseer sighting....now that she thought about it, there had been a glow about him...maybe it had been a naked Overseer. I guess some habits never change for peopleShe laughed a little at the Overseers habit of running around naked...not a bad habit in her brain. She kind of wished these people weren't so prudish here or she'd run around naked more often too.

Harata was not amused. She looked around, then whispered to Even and the Sentinel, "If you don't want bleeding ears, I suggest you cover them now." She then opened her mouth, and let off this high pitched, unhuman, alarm-like squealing. Most of the SINners dropped their weapons to cover their ears, and the others winced in pain. She shoved Eve and the Sentinel roughly through the crowd. "To the docks. Look for Wilberforth Pedagree. Short man, one eye, awesome tattoo. Tell him that his debt to Mei Usagi is paid with your safe passage. I'll be along." She had no doubt that the noise she had made would of brought more people, along with possibly even reaching the Island. ((Not god modding. I can make such a sound. Really annoys people, and hurts their ears.)))
