Overruled. A jutsu that lets you see sin? Sin isnt something that can be manifest like that. And what does "250" mean?
PostPosted: Tue Oct 05, 2010 8:17 am

250 is feet. But of course that can be decreased. *Gets on debate glasses.

Since Hachibi is the manisfestation of 'darkness' and sin is also technically 'darkness,' one would think that the biju would be able to see some sort of resonance or appearance of it.

Sin is a matter of opinion, in all honesty. Some people don't consider some sins to be actual sins unless on a grand scale, so being able to see "sin" is like looking at memories rather than sin. In which case, you might as well be able to read minds completely to know their dark past. So I agree with Gregar, seeing sin just doesn't make sense nor should be possible.

Besides, darkness is just the absence of light. If you want to get technical about the powers of darkness, black wholes, and light, stars. I can rock your world about it, but no... none of it has to do with the Narutoverse, so let's leave it be.

Your Rank: Academy Student
Name of Jutsu: Way of the Abacus #6: Pillar of Salt
Rank of Jutsu: E
Range of Jutsu: Right in front of the user
Jutsu's Element: Earth
Description: The user sends chakra either through their hands or their feet to the ground and draws up the salt in the ground, forming anywhere from a small mound to a large pillar of salt depending on the location.
Rp Sample Sairoh had finally arrived at his secret 'sweet spot', a patch of land in the Rock Country so rich in salt, placing one's bare skin on the ground left you shriveled and dehydrated in moments. Channeling his chakra he sent it deep into the earth where it began latching onto the particles of salt and drawing them up, a pillar of salt erupting from the ground. He then began scooping the salt into containers for him to take back and sell at the markets.

Hmmm... No combat potential, unless you use it on a beach as a defense, probably only known by wandering cooks and merchants... Meh, go for it.

As Storm said, darkness is in fact the absence of light. Sin is a more mystical type of thing. The only way to "See" sin, is if the person is so weighed down by what they had done already that it was obvious on their features. And something like that wouldn't even require a jutsu.

What is this darkness element anyways? I can understand the medical element and sand and all those other ones we have for specific jutsu types, but darkness?

Heres an edited version of mental shout, it should make it much clearer to you what it does. it doesnt do any physical damage. edits in red

Name of Jutsu: Mental Shout
Rank of Jutsu: D
Jutsu's Element: Yamanaka clan
Description: Using their extraordinary telepathic abilities, the Yamanaka forces a loud mental boom, that can easily disorient and startle those affected. It's purely mental, so there would be no actual damage. It is used to stun the affected, it sounds loud enough your eardrums might blow, but nothing else happens. It's main use, would be to stun them long enough for teammates to get an attack off much easier. It is up to the affected to decide if it affects them longer although taijutsu users are affected much stronger and genjutsu much weaker due to the nature of this jutsu.

Interesting. You need to add in a time limit, and specify that it can only affect a single target. If you intended to affect multiple targets, you need a minimum spherical range from the user.

The time limit is really just so that the Yamanaka doesn't start screaming in OOC about how their opponent shouldn't have been able to recover so quickly and bla bla bla.

I also fixed a couple spelling and punctuation errors for you...
PostPosted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 3:08 pm

It is only intended for one target ill edit that in.
its just a burst, it is only used for a turn. I think the affect would only last a turn that would kind of make sense. I think it got changed somehow when i added the taijutsu users being weaker thing.

spelling- dont know how those got past me...
if you think these changes would fix it ill repost the jutsu so you can see what it would look like.

Sounds good. You could probably also add in that it would have a stronger and more lasting effect on squeamish or easily startled people. Though that would generally be common sense.

Characters not used to mental intrusion, (like taijutsu users and newbie ninjas) as well as those who are easilly startled. it is up to the affected to decide if their rpc would need more turns to recover.

It may be a bit of nit picking, but the bolded sentence seems incomplete to me. Did you mean to say something there and forgot? Cause it only looks half done.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 5:38 pm

I think it is a typo. I think it was supposed to say something to this effect.

Quote:
Characters not used to mental intrusion, (like taijutsu users and newbie ninjas) are easilly startled by this technique.

Atleast that or like Hinote said, something is missing.

Meiton is darkness element. Zin has a basis around this. =^^= But the way he's using it...eh... I don't think it truly is within the Meiton Element though... But it's already been ruled by everyone else so this is more of just clarifying and whatnot.

Doesnt the Nara clan already have "darkness" covered?

anyways, i dont think that's nit-picking at all. I seem to be failing miserably at typing lately. emo

Nara clan uses Kageton: Shadow Release, not darkness release.

I dunno, I see a huge windows for people who dont use the honor system to B.S. and say "Oh my character is naturally trained to ignore loud noises" or something stupid like that.
