After his comforting had been going on for some time, Raquel rolled over to look at him. "Damian...?" She said softly, tears still running down her face. "Can...can you stay with me? Even just fora little while...please?" She pleaded, not realizing how much her emotions were indeed showing. She was scared. She didn't want to be alone. But if Damian had to go off and take care of himself, she would understand, and just wait for him to return. She had never had anyone close to her to help hr through these things, but now that she did, she felt they were a sort of lifeline she didn't want to let go of...

"I wasn't planning on leaving..." he said softly. "Sleeping, maybe, but not leaving." A sad little smile played out on his lips as he rubbed his eyes. "I didn't sleep a wink with that cur in that cell... I swear I'll kill him the next time I get a hand on him..."
Another promise wrapped in a threat. Damian flumped back on the bed, just staring at the ceiling for a bit. Raquel would be a mess for awhile, and he could deal with that... but Chase needed to be taken care of in one way or another.

Raquel managed to almsot stop crying, though she found it left her with an incredible headache. She rolled over so she could place her head on Damian's chest. She hugged him tightly as her breathing finally eased down to about the same rate as his heart beat. The thought of Damian killing anyone made her cringe. "Damian-....I Dont like to think of you like that....and- I dont want to lose you just because you were 'delivering justice'..." She said this softly, just trying to think of Damian as the loving soft and gentle soul she knew he was, and he wouldn't be taken away from her again.

He cringed along with her. The bloodlust there was pure vengeance for what he did to her, and only her voice kept him from blowing his head in after the beating. "I will not. Only for you, I will not... though it still means I want to." There could be no denying it anyhow. "Do you need medication?" he asked, wanting to get off the subject of his wishes for Chase.

Raquel sighed, bringing her hand to her head in hopes of relieving pressure. "I've got a bit of a headache...but it's no big deal..." She said softly rubbing the bridge of her nose and between her eyes to try various relieving methods.

"Let me go get you something..." Even if she was frightened, Damian shifted her off of him, and got himself off of the bed so he could go get her aspirin. She could handle being alone for just a few minutes, probably not even ten.
So out he went, to the kitchen, where he saw Richard and Lorey. She gave him a questioning glance before asking in a small voice how everything was going. "Terribly," he said with little emotion as he punched in numbers for two aspirin pills in the panel upon the wall. "It is going to take awhile for her to be alright..." A plastic cup with two small pills popped down in the receiving area, followed by a cup with water once there was free space. Damian turned to Richard and Lorey, looking sad to say the least, and haggard. They were so happy... so bruised and beaten, but so happy. Why couldn't he and Raquel be graced with the same?

Richard came up beside him, giving him a reassuring, yet manly, squeeze on the shoulder. "It'll be alright mate...if you need anything, we're here for the both of you." He assured, hoping that would at least bring some comfort if any reassurance at all.

"Thank you..." Damian actually gave Richard a rather compassionate look before giving both him and Lorey a nod, and walking back to the bedroom where Raquel still lay. He sat on the edge of the bed by her head, holding out the pills in their cup and the water like some kind of peace offering. "Here you are," he said. "Take these and get some sleep... goodness knows you need it."
Lorey watched him walk off with a very worried look upon her sweet face. "Poor man... poor Raquel. I can't imagine what must have happened. I mean, it almost happened to me one time, but... that isn't the same." She'd been struck once, and Terra had saved her from several attacks, most without Lorey even knowing. Thinking of everything in her past, she went to Richard for a hug. So many things he didn't know, even if she felt he knew her inside and out.

Raquel rolled over to look at him, sitting up with difficulty. She had drained herself of almsot any energy she had left in her system. She looked paler if that were possible, except for dark circles under her red puffy eyes from crying. She gratefully took the pills and water before laying back down, slightly out of breath from even that much exertion. "I'm sorry Damian..." She said softly feeling like such a burden on him physically and emotionally. "I could usually handle this on my own..." She explained with a weak smile, though memories from her past left sadness in her eyes. She'd hide herself away in her small filthy apartment for days, sometimes weeks on end. She would simply cry or shiver or just tell herself it never happened as she stayed in the darkest corner of the place, in perpetual fear someone would come in for her. She would finally force herself out of her grieving when the hunger pains became more prevalent than her terrified feelings. The only bright side to any of it, was how Raquel had grown in her mind stronger, and more self reliant over the years.
Richard took her up in his own hug, though lifted hr chin to look up at him. "What do you mean?....were you ever...?" He let that trail off, not even being able to think of someone assaulting Lorey in such a manner. Just the idea of it made his blood boil.

"If you say sorry one more time..." Damian leaned down to her to catch her lips in a kiss. "I am not too sure what I will do. Probably withhold most kisses. Hugs will be granted freely, but kisses will be rationed." It was a poor attempt at getting her to smile, he knew, especially since he didn't think even he could stand such a thing.
Lorey turned a little pink. "I was walking home from work, alone, like always. He dragged me of into the alley, had me pinned, but... something scared him off. I'm guessing the woman who attacked me here... She would frighten anyone and was always watching." Except lately she had felt as if she hadn't been. Damian hadn't said anything about Terra being at the Ball Room, and for good reason. Just one more thing for someone else to worry about...

Raquel offered a small smile for his effort, reaching her frail hand to his face, touching it softly. "I'm sorry I keep saying I'm sorry..." She said quietly, her small smile growing just a tad at the joke as she pushed a stray strand of his long black hair behind his ears.
Richard didn't know what to say to that. He didn't want to get upset because reasonably he couldn't have prevented it. He couldn't have prevented a lot of Lorey's past simply because he wasn't there. Thats when he made a new promise, to protect her from any hurting in the future. "Lorey...Now that I'm here for you...you never have to worry about that again...alright?" He asked, kissing her nose. He was actually much more worried that she would be in more danger if she were married to him, if his old enemies were still after him after all...

"I'm sorry you feel that you have to say sorry for saying sorry." Damian eased back down next to her with a smile. A genuine one, he felt, even if he wouldn't be through being worried for quite some time. "Are we done being sorry?"
"Just don't let me walk alone at night," she said, tiptoeing to kiss him on his nose. Richard had different features, she found, than most people. Defined, and different. Wanting to change the subject, she chose his nose, which she felt the need to poke lightly with her finger. "Have I ever told you that I think you have a cute nose and very nice hair?"

Raquel sighed with a smile as she let her hand drop. "You know I'm never done apologizing..." She said with a saddened smile. She let her hand fall to where his was on the edge of the bed. She grasped it as tight as she could, which wasn't very hard at all.
Richard laughed a little, turning red. "No, wait- ...have you mentioned my hair? I think so..." He kissed her nose in return before rubbing his against it. "Did I tell you how amazingly happy yuou make me?" He asked in return, just wanting to scoop her up in a hug.

Not that Damian was running short on compassion, but he sorely wished she would just sleep and let things go for only a bit. He had tried running his fingers over her forehead in an efort to calm her, which seemed to work only a little. With an idea, his fingers slowly stroked from her forehead over her eyelids, closing them in the hopes they would stay that way. "Sleep, love. Everything will wait for you. Everything will be fine, I will take care of it all..."
"Well I'm mentioning it again!" Lorey laughed, even if she thought it unfair to be so happy while the others were so miserable. "Yes, you always do... I'm not supposed to forget, remember? And how could I..."

Raquel kept her eyes closed, but she took Damian's hand from her face, holding it close to her heart. "I will if you will..." She whispered a small smile on her face. It was amazing how happy she was just being near him. How Damian had the power to make her feel so safe and secure in her darkest hours.
Richard smiled and kissed her again. He did feel a bit guilty as well for being so happy, but how could he help it? Lorey was his world. His Everything. He knew that Damian probably felt the same about Raquel. They were just going through a low point in their relationship, involving crisis's, pain, and separation. They needed to just get back on their feet without being knocked down so quickly.
