I guess the problem is not that the guy is innocent, but the law is unconstitutional. It seems even the judge realised that, but because the material traveled through interstate commerce, he is still being charged.

He would probably have to appeal the supreme court, which would take a lot of money, and if the media catches wind they would probably have a feild day with him. It would be very unpopular, but damn it, its our right.

From the looks of the outcome it looks like he was trying to save face. It looks like six months in prison then he can get back to, more or less, his normal life, with the exception of some annoying probation and "treatment program". Appealing it would definately be justice, but even if he succeded, it would also place his name next to this case about animated porn of little girls. Now it seems like a curiosity in a local court, but if he took it to the supreme court the case would probably get more recognition and he would be treated by the media and ignorant people as a de facto ***** most of us can still get our lolicon without a hitch, it may be the best outcome for everyone. Ah, I always liked Freud. I think alot of his theories had some truth to them, just not to the extremes that he some times display them. Its probably why alot of people get turned off by his ideas. Saying one at a young age may recognise their mother as the opposite sex and desire for their attention while becoming jealous when one's father takes that attention people may accept, saying you want to kill your father because you want to ******** your mother not so much (actually I don't think Freud put it that way exactly, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he did).

However psychology is kind of a touch and feel thing, its not an exact science. Its not A = B but kind of a A suggests B, or it could suggest C or D or none of them at all.

If we are analysing Reisen, wouldn't he be showing sighns of Reaction formation, his out rage of lolicon be a reacted cover up of his desire of it? Sublimation would suggest he is actually doing something productive, such as making lolicon for the rest of us. I guess you could always claim denial since all psychological defense mechnaism stems from that one.

In any case all I wanted to say is while that may be true to some degree, I don't think its as simple as you are putting it. There is a huge diffrence between fantasy and reality. Take soldiers for example, they go through alot of taining to desensitize them to the idea of killing another human, stabing and shooting man shaped tagets. But when they go on the feild, previous studies show that most actually shoot to miss, aiming their gun purposely high or low to miss the target because they still can't bring them selves to the idea of killing another human. If we were solely run by the id, perhaps, but don't forget that we carry with us a super ego as well.
