He could teleport...just chose not to that time. he could do a lot of things. but he had followed the elf, and stood outside the building, casually looking it over. there was great power here...and it had intelligence behind it.
But he moved off to the side, and stayed out of the way. and obviously that one had no experience with arcane powers or at the very least invisibility. not to say someone with would have an easy time of trying to undo his magic or see through it.
Knowledge was power. He was the truth of that. he had spent several mortal lifetimes studying all the schools of magic. the devestating power of wizardry, the tricks of enchantment, the lifebending of necromancy, and the creationism of conjuration..mastered the four schools. but this power...this was new. and he wanted it.
Knowledge was power. and he would learn all there was to know on this new power...and make it his own. whatever it took. He had time.

"Oh." Said stupidly as if she should know that answer, despite how her hands played with her scarf and how heat had lit into her cheeks over it all. "Well...Kyst is never anything towards me but nice and helpful. I don't think I'm his...what's it called again? His type. That's it. I'm not his type. I don't like water." An idea lighting up her face, "Why doesn't Nyc take you to the beach? You like that."
"Um...yes." He was young and knew and a little wet behind the ears and she was intimidating to a point wasn't she? Very. "Um...well, he vanished and I don't really know why or how, only assume so...no? It happened on Torea. He looks Arch...only with green eyes and he has short hair and odd clothes."
Uh oh had he upset the woman? Didn't want her upset. "Rumors, oh. Well...I'm sorry to disappoint you Taliathia but I'm afraid she's not pregnant. She may seem so because of how she's acting but we already checked."
Apparently he had indeed decided that he would be going with them despite his jabbering on about other plans earlier. Sometimes he was the one that was fickle as the wind. "Patience is something ever Rainsong lacks. We never learn it." Setting her dishes in his sink she headed up to change her own clothes and such as well, getting ready for the day before joining him back downstairs.

"Well then I'm surprised you have enough when it comes to me my Tempest." Galesen smiled a little as he watched her go to change and as quickly as she left she reappeared again, he was glad she didn't take so long to get ready. "Well then, lets go get him." Heading outside to see Barhnel ready and waiting for them already. So once they got into the saddle Galesen took off to the palace, once there they would head to the mines and different way, but at least they would get to Nillrik quicker by taking Galesen's horse. Once they got to the palace though Galesen got off his steed and waited for Isle to do the same before handing him off to be taken care of. "I'm guessing he is still sleeping isn't he?"

"I can see that." She was more innocent than Kyst was used to dealing with but Lark couldn't help the thought that she should pull Kyst aside and warn him. Just in case. "That would be grand. An afternoon of just the two of us and the waves and sand." She sighed longingly and stretched out on the bench, resting her hand against her forehead as if she'd suddenly over heated. "Maybe I'll mention that to him. I could probably take an afternoon off and go shopping with you or something of that sort too. Maybe even a ride? Last time you said you had fun."
Mothering instincts on high alert, she reached out and gently patted his shoulder to reassure him that he had done well. Her instincts went on high alert for a moment and she peered into the spot over his left shoulder but chalked it up to the unusual heat. "We'll keep an eye on things for a while and you let Valessen know if you see him again. You need to tell him about this anyway. I'll talk to Master Tyyrael and see what his take on it is. Meanwhile, return to your post, Skylar. You have done well."
Stepping back, she studied that spot again but merely closed the door and headed upstairs, slipping into the partially closed door that led to the nursery. Ty was holding one of the twins, rocking him back to reverie while the other hadn't stirred from the trance-like state. "Crisis averted?" she whispered, stroking her finger down her son's tiny cheek.
She smiled and nodded, "We were all hoping. Ah well, there's always more time. I'll save my congratulations for when I'm extremely sure. I apologize if I upset you, Nyc. We all just wants what's best for the both of you."

That, had been all too easy. so he strolled casually, taking in the local color. he recognized other races of elf...and a bluish skinned or greenish skinned variety. but the black skins assured him that the others weren't what he could have thought, and listening to their conversations as he moved confirmed things. elves that lived beneath the waves. that might be another place to go and see what knowledge was hidden in the depths. after all, the Kedge had at one time great arcane secrets.
Enlightening indeed. his invisibility faded...but the elf that young boy had seen wasn't there. this time his hair was long and red, tied in a single braid and his skin had markings in reds and oranges on tawny golden skin. but as the other time, his eyes were still pale jade. and full of hunger, and disdain. His clothes were the same..he had nothing to worry about there. the boy hadn't described his clothes beyond the term 'strange'.
So he moved to a tavern, and sat in a back corner, and just listened. Knowledge was power...and taking in the local color from a local bar would give him a wealth of knowledge about this place, how it worked, who was in charge and where they were. Amazing how easily you can find or coax information in places like this.

"I had fun until I fell off. Then it wasn't fun anymore." Watching her friend bask in her own sort of misery that she supposed she herself just didn't understand. "Maybe? I think you should mention it to him and if you don't I suppose I'll have to do it for you. Just because you're royal or whatever you all call yourselves now doesn't mean you can't have fun when you want."
"Crisis averted. We had out blanket stolen and was not happy." Chuckling some as he was indeed trying to soothe little ones back to sleep to the best of his ability. One would think he would be a natural after all that he had been through practically raising Brigade members, however babies were harder than young headstrong elves.
"Um no problem Talithia, I'm not upset. I knew it was a popular rumor back in the palace but I didn't know it was getting around. But no, no kids in the future yet. Maybe they'll come eventually. I'll make sure you're the first to know." Giving her a little smiel and a bow, indeed it was time to head home.
"I don't handle you with patience, thank you very much." Giving him one of her sassy looks before letting him take care of travel arrangements till they were back home. "It's always fifty fifty when it comes to Nilli. More based on what he was doing the night before I suppose."
"Wrong!" Yelled in Galesen's ear as the still young elf popped up on the two and he duly pushed Gale aside to get to his mother, giving her a hug and a nuzzle affectionately. "I behaved myself and was out pretty quick last night."

"Right. And this time you probably wouldn't fall off at all." Are was just...Are. No other explanation needed. "I'll mention it to him. It would be better than him shooing me off to reverie at random times throughout the day. Her hand brushed the tattoo across her cheek and she sighed. "Slaves to the people, it seems like. But you're exactly right. We deserve to live our lives and have fun just like any other elf. I wish he was back home, Are. I miss him so much when he's gone..."
She smoothed a blanket over one sleeping baby and then took the other from Ty and settled the other beneath her blanket as well. Stepping back towards Ty, she settled herself in his lap and rested her head on his shoulder, keeping her voice low so as not to disturb the little ones. "One crisis averted, another begins. We had a cross-planar visitor that teleported somewhere when asked for information. Skylar was quite upset about it."

So. former kingdoms, now a joint council. Arch, moon, wood, obsidian, sea. a plane wide security...of which that pup was part of, called the 'brigade' run by a 'master rune mage'. that much be the source of that tantalizing new power. rune magery. he needed more information. how many of these 'rune mages' were there. where were they all.
considering the leader of planar security was one, it would be logical to think that members of planar security would know the location of others of the same. either the leader keeping tabs on rivals, or they were potentially his lieutenants stationed in various kingdoms or outposts.
Now how best to proceed. the obvious answer would be to find a member, and force them to reveal what they knew. how to do that. he didn't want to waste time with frivolous friendship. getting them drunk took to long and a drunk may not give accurate information.
So...a blink of an eye later, and he was his pale, blond self. a matter of time before he was noticed, someone sent to fetch him. he'd just 'detain' that someone.

Galesen raised an eyebrow at Isle and smirked a bit. "Really?" Was all he could say before they continued on. "Well then I hope he wasn't hopped up on sugar." But Galesen made a face and clapped a hand over his ear after Nillrik yelled into it then pushed him aside. "Ah! Nillrik!" Sensitive ears and such were sometimes a pain, but the good sides to them were worth it. After he was stable again Galesen straightened up and gave a small nod. "That's good, your rest will serve you well today." He would let his mother tell the boy where they were going, after all the mines was one of those places most talked about.

"Only because you don't like missing out on things more than you do already." Grinning however and going quiet before giggling. "Well, you don't have to wait too long."
"Oh my dearest, have you fallen into melodramatic whims over me being away to pile on top of your exhaustion and the baby rumors? Whatever am I going to do with you?
That just got a frown from him. "I suppose that means back to work bright and early." Sighing and scratching at his bandages. "Well...I suppose it will keep me away from recruits swinging heavy things for a while.
"And you're sure that's what he looked like." Getting a nod from the kid. "You're sure?" Another nod before a point over to someone he didn't recognize. "Just like that guy looks?" Which got a surprised noise from him and another frantic nod. "That's him I take it." Shaking his head he waved off the younger member and approached the strange. "Excuse me sir, can I ask about your visit here?"
"Yeah I know, I get to go to the mines because I was good. Right? Right right right?" Buttering up his mother with nuzzles and what not at the same time to try and make a point.
"Yes dear. Come along, let's head out. Everything we need is already down there and it just takes some walking to get there."

"What?" She sat up and blinked at that voice then gave a joyful cry and launched herself into his arms, raining kisses on his face. "Nyc! What are you doing? You weren't supposed to be back until tomorrow." Initial affection shared, she leaned back and frowned. "Baby rumors?" Sure, her staff had been bringing her an exorbitant amount of tea lately which she knew was supposed to quell an upset stomach...that she didn't have. She just assumed they were worried about her.
"But not yet. Skylar will report to Valeessen and he will handle it." Yes, she was being firm on his need to relax. Her position on his lap made it easy to unwind the bandage and feel the tender spot to ensure there was no more swelling. It was actually looking quite well at this point in time and the bandage was clean so she simply rewrapped it and then dropped a kiss on the spot. "There. You'll be right as rain in no time."

Galesen looked at the boy and raised an eyebrow, still the same old Nillrik, but more independent to an extent. A small smile appeared on his face though as he watched the young Rainsong trying to butter up his mother so he could actually go to the mines. A look to Isle though and he nodded, picking up his pickax he began to walk with the Rainsong's to the mines.
After walking for awhile they actually came to the mine, it was just like any regular old mine, and people did go in and out looking for gems and other little things. Galesen looked to Nillrik and then to Isle. "Well, this is gonna be fun, hope we find something worthwhile today." Galesen had some lucky strikes in the mine a few times, but there was always something bigger in there, he had a feeling in the gut about that.

he looked up. this one was in the same garb, but was much older and had a more authorative look to him. and he had dark skin. must have been an obsidian. he gave only the hint of a smile, with no warmth to it.
"Your a bit more then the other. But I'm still far beyond you. however you may prove...useful."
he reached out and snagged Vale's wrist in a cold, hard grip.
"I think you need a nap, wouldn't you agree? it's calm, safe, and you've worked so very hard."
his eyes betrayed nothing, but his arcane power was working to put Vale into reverie. of course...if he proved more mentally capable then that. he'd just have to be more...forceful.

"We happened to wrap things up early. You know this checking in with each other sooner really keeps things smooth. More work and meetings, but less stress about it all I think." Of course they still had their giant planar sized council at the regular time but now they met more regularly as well. "Yes baby rumors. Talithia was happy to be the first to congratulate us. Unfortunately I had to burst her bubble. Promised she'd be the first we tell though so don't go telling everyone before her when you are pregnant."
He let her check out what was once a pretty bad gash across the head that was now just a very sore with a tad swelling, the edges of the gash having already mended together on their own. No one wanted to play with magic when his head was involved. But he did give a chuckle. "Oh, so I get the benefit of kisses make it all better too hm? You know I'm going to go mad soon if someone doesn't let me do something productive."
It was a short trip to get down to the mines and then was the slow walk through them, led by one of the usual workers there who mined out the metals and gems that laced the mountain range that was home to Lucana. He was having a grand time explaining things to Nillrik who was walking with him eagerly and Isle was content to listen and watch all that was going on, being people working and giving her looks in greeting or just the atmosphere. It was like being under a night sky in some places.
He merely looked at his wrist, giving a frown and looking back up to the other with a stern look in his eyes. Skylar was at least on to something if this man was already acting like this. "I think you need to rethink your actions before it gets you in more trouble than is needed." His mind started to feel a tad fuzzy as if his body was trying to take reverie, as it liked to unexpectedly do due to his age, but he tried to force the feeling away as it would not be good to give in now. "You hardly want to get yourself in trouble."

Hmm. that didn't work like expected, but not of course unthought of.
"And who says I'm the one in trouble?"
taking his hand off, and looking around a bit. no one was very much paying attention. casual glances but that was about it.
drumming his fingers lightly on the table...before lifting his hand up, and there was a blinding flash of light to most everyone that was actually the effect of a powerful electric bolt, similar to lightning crossing the short distance between himself and the black elf.
