Emily moved on inside the room as Vandal motioned for her to do so. Again, her attention was placed completely on evaluating her surroundings. Bit of a hard habit to break, especially in situations like this. It was a new and unfamiliar location, so she needed to know exactly what was where and the exits. This was a new and unfamiliar person in her company, and this was his place. She could make a better profile on the man by what she could find around here.
The first thing she noticed was how expensive the room was, even by this hotel's standards. This was clearly the best room there was, and it was large enough to have everything. There was a balcony just on the other side of the living room with.... what had to be a hot tub on it. Really? A hot tub on the balcony? Then the living room... nice large tv. Glass table in front of the couches. Dining table beyond that. Chairs that were easy to toss. Kitchen over there... knives sitting out for chopping. Looked like the bathroom over there, and the large bedroom over there.
Alright, she had all the possible weapons, means of self defense, and escape routs covered. Now she could let the little details take her attention. Which... she couldn't help but focus on all of the decorations in the room that looked like they belonged in a museum rather than a hotel room. They had to be Vandal's personal effects, and they had to have cost a fortune to buy.
... if he didn't originally own them given his said age. Blackstone certainly owned the greater chunk of relics that he had originally. The rarest of which he kept at his own house where they were less likely to get damaged by an angry costume. The other half in one of the museums that he owned to share with the public. And the rest was on display at any of his other buildings. If this was his hotel room, which Emily could easily see him having, there would be paintings and pottery decorating this place that would make a scholar envious.
.... aaaand she was comparing the two again. She needed to stop that. She couldn't start doing that and start assuming things out of Vandal because she would assume them out of Blackstone.

Savage followed behind her, and closed the door. His act dropped immediately, becoming completely serious. "There, no prying eyes or ears here. The others must have left to do something," he said, referencing Julianne and Rebecca. Not really caring whether or not she was going to ask what he meant about others, he walked towards his bookcase and said, "Alright, I owe you the device, and I owe you some of that salve I mentioned..." He stopped, and looked at her again, saying, "Would you like a change of clothes while you're here? Your sizes are, what, 32-24-30?"

Emily's attention snapped back to Vandal as he spoke again. She watched him and listened, and arched a brow at him once again as he finished speaking. "Yes..." she said, regarding his last question. That was... right on the dot actually. "I suppose with the public reason why I'm here... I won't be leaving for an hour at the very least. It.... might do me a bit better to get the rest of my suit off of me for a while." she said.

"Then let's take care of that first," Savage said, making no outward note of her surprise. He diverted to his closet, and opened it up. There were some suits in it, and other male clothing combinations that looked like they'd be more at home either in a foreign country, or a few hundred years in the past. There was also a number of women's clothing in it, too. Mainly dresses and combinations of blouses and skirts. Vandal looked for a moment, saying loud enough for Emily to hear, "I hail from a time where if you wanted something to wear, you had to kill something and make it yourself." He emerged from the closet holding two dresses, obviously more meant for evening wear, as he added to his explanation, "You get pretty good at figuring out measurements. Tailors tend to make my clothes now, but I don't like losing skills, no matter how trivial they may seem."
The dresses were identical, except one was black, and the other was white. They were the kind of dresses that Emily would have seen on any female guest at the Iceberg Lounge, back when more women actually came to the Lounge. They were stunning; outlines that might have normally been done with rhinestones, were done with real diamonds on these dresses. They probably cost what most people made in a year.

Emily's eyes widened a bit at the sight of the two dresses. The sort of expression any woman might have when a selection of diamond jewelry was presented to them to borrow for the night. She hadn't expected to be given something so... expensive to wear for the short time she'd be here.
While her eyes flickered over the black dress, she was much more drawn to the white dress. She much more preferred white or other light colors. Black was such a... work sort of color. She began to reach for it, but pulled her hand back upon second thought.
"I'd... better go with the black one. It will be a disaster if my bandages bleed through or anything in the white dress." she replied.

Vandal held out the white dress for her to take, saying, "I'll give you my dry cleaner's number. He's gotten way more blood out of my clothing than leaking bandages could ever do." He was clearly intending to let her walk out with the dress as an alternative to putting back on her other clothes. He added with a slight smile, "Besides, with your complexion and hair color, we both know the white one will look better on you."

Emily looked back up at him for a moment with a slight frown. Every bit of her was wanting to refuse taking such and expensive and easy to stain dress. Expensive and diamond accented being the main problem... but... if she was going to get on and stay on his good side... she'd have to accept little gifts like this. As much as her instincts were screaming at her not to take it. It felt too much like a bribe or a "hey, i gave you expensive dress, now you have to this for me" sort of thing.
Her eyes moved back down towards the stunning dress, and the frown faded a bit. It... was beautiful. And she of course had to be the girly-girl type when it came to clothes. Window shopping at the mall and coming home with three bags was a perfectly acceptable day out with friends for her.
Carefully, she took the dress out of Vandal's hands and looked over the diamonds. "I'm probably only going to be able to wear it when I'm around you. Only place I go that I could wear something like this is the Lounge, and I'm usually in uniform there." she said. Then the corner of her mouth curled in a slight grin. "Plus... Cobblepot would wonder where and how I came about such a thing."

"Tell the Penguin the truth, kind of," Vandal said in reply, a smile that mirrored her own emerging on his face as he used the name that for Cobblepot that the whole underworld knew, but few actually said, "Tell him I accidentally caused the damage to your back, and the dress was my way of apologizing." A slight chuckle came out from him. "Considering I won't have to actually go to him to get his information anymore," he said in reference to what she's already agreed to do for him, "I really couldn't care less how mad at me he gets. Plus, I just made him a billionaire, and not only did I do it in only two minutes, I did it without batting an eye. He will not challenge me, and if he were to suddenly decide he's lost his mind and he does challenge me, he won't be much of a challenge. I took one of his best weapons with me, and his only other real weapon is really a triple-agent that owes at least a little allegiance to me, and a great deal of it to another person or agency." He was clearly referring to Emily when he mentioned Cobblepot's 'only other real weapon'. "He has no chance, and if he's as smart as I think he is, he'll know he has no chance."

Emily gave a bit of an uneasy smile and glanced away. If he only knew just how much she allegiance she owed to the "other person", he'd probably try to hire her fully. She sort of did the whole Cobblepot thing on her own, just because she had no other job and had to earn money some how. There was a small start up group who found out and was looking to clean up the streets a bit. So she fed them information and tips as small problems came in. And big problems that were happening then and now. Other than that... spying on Cobblepot was just to keep her from getting rusty.
"It's getting angry at me I'd have more of a problem with." she replied, looking back at the dress. "He's.... not nice to the girls who cross him. Let alone someone he finds has betrayed him."

Vandal went and put away the black dress while he listened to Emily's rather valid point. He said in reply as he reemerged from the closet and closed the door, "If you suspect he's made you, you know where I live. The closet doubles as a bunker. The balcony door is never locked; why would it be, when I live so high up, and any super who wants to get at me would just break the glass, anyways? I'm sure you could figure out a way to get up here."

Emily smirked a bit. "Top floor sky scraper access through the window isn't even a problem for me to get inside provided I'm wearing the right equipment." she said. And it wasn't. Even without one of her super helpers to give her a lift to the top floor, she still had the means to scale the side of the building to get to the top.

"Wearing the right equipment?" Savage said, a little surprised, "You're telling me you can actually scale a forty-plus story building?" He eyed her up, saying, "That's rather impressive. Even as long as I've lived, I've only met four non-supers with that kind of endurance, including you. You're the only woman on that list."

Emily let a faintly smug little grin curl around the corner of her lips as she looked back at him. "Technology is a hell of a thing. As long as I don't have to practically pull myself up the entire way, I'm usually fine. I don't get tired very easily once I get myself going." she replied. And she didn't. Granted, her suits and tech helped out a LOT with the climb, but pulling her own weight up the side of a building was not much of a problem for her. She'd already been back and forth across this city at least three times now by foot over rooftops... with an injured back, and she felt as though she had at least two more trips before she would need to take the night off. "Cobblepot has me as one of his top girls for more than just my looks, after all."

"I've noticed," Vandal said, taking another appreciative look at her, "Stamina, fighting skill, and knows how to dress up. You may not have powers, but you just might be the total package."
Then, he remembered what he had brought Emily here for. "Let me see your back. I'll get some of that salve I mentioned," he said as he walked back towards the bookcase.

Emily's smile grew for just a moment, but fell as Vandal turned and walked back towards the bookcase. Okay... that was flirting, wasn't it? Alright, that's fine. That's fine.... as long as she didn't encourage it or make it unclear that anything was ever going to happen. Which it wasn't. Despite how... strangely nice that just felt to be complimented and eyed up like that.
.... sort of like how...
No, damn it. Focus.
Emily looked back down at her dress, then carefully folded it up on the couch to put on just after this. Her gaze shifted towards the door, then window, then anywhere a camera would have likely been as she tossed her "purse" on the couch. Deciding that the coast was clear, so to speak, she carefully began pulling the bulky black sweater she was wearing up and over her head. Tossing that on the couch as well, she looked down at what remained of the torso section of her suit. It was only enough to cover her chest and collar, but the back half of it covered half of her back still. There was... no real way to get to all of her wounds without taking the rest of the suit off.
.... of course.
