"...I-I felt a little better after the sun went down...so I went for a walk...The man harassed me...H-He threatened to hurt me...The next thing I knew, he was on the ground bloody...with my teeth marks in him..." Kurenai hugged Mark's arm and moved closer to him, like she was hoping he would protect her, "I didn't want to kill him..." Just thinking about that man made her eyes turn a little red.

Alyx's thumb started rubbing the silver pamal of her sword, her eyes lowering to the carpet. She was silent as she thought, then finally spoke, her expression only read able as unhappy, "So... you were born... not made... there is no older vampire who's responsible for you? At least not while you were attacking that man..."

"I-I wasn't born a Vampire...My parents are both human..." Kurenai said. She did say she was attacked by someone or something before, "I-I don't know who made me this way...Mark only tried to help me after it happened..."

Alyx sighed, "In this case my actions are clearly defined... Normally, in the case of a new born killing a human because she was not guided by her maker, both child and parent must be hunted and killed, but another vampire easily adopted the new-born and is teaching her obedience. The child is therefore safe from my sword. However the creator must be punished for his crime of endangering his own kind and humans as well. Do you remember anything about when you were attack? Anything at all?"

"So... You remember nothing, no smells, he didn't say anything to you? Maybe even the color of his hair as he bent his head to drink from you?" Alyx pressed, she needed some clue to find the person who did this. If she couldn't do that, she could never be considered a true bounty hunter, like her uncle.

Mark watched Alyx as Kurenai explained. "I think it was a female vampire." Mark said aloud.

"A few weeks ago I noticed another vampire in the town. I was interested in following her, but she wouldn't stop moving. So, I grew bored and left her." Mark said feeling bad knowing he was probably the reason Kurenai was turned into a vampire.

Alyx was quiet for a moment, then she looked up at Mark, "Thank you for that..." She blinked at him for a moment, "Excuse me... But aren't you one of the older Vampires? My Uncle gave me notes on the important ones... but so many have died, or been killed..."

Alyx stood tilting her head to the side, "It doesn't matter. If you're more than a few centuries old, that's how Uncle taught me to greet you. Though you being from another realm doesn't explain why you didn't know my family's name... From what I hear there are branches of us all over with powers like mine..."
