"No' thirty yet, bu' soon," He grunted, looking thouroughly upset by this fact.

"Thirty?" Ambrose looked him over again. "Thirty isn't that bad." He commented.

"At least you had more years of freedom." Ambrose might have been to the Olympics already if he had been nearly thirty by the time he was abducted.

"Freedom," Billy chortled, laughing at the sky, "If'n y'can call it tha'." The tentacles wriggled, feeling exceptionally good in the water. It was sick. This... hideous wolf man was disgusted by the sight of the damn things growing from his torso.

What would She have thought?

"I've barely don' anythi'n yet."

Ambrose shrugged. "I would expect more than we've got going now. For all of our 'freedoms' here we are stuck here, and at their mercy if they so choose to exact it." His ears flicked back again as he drew a breath of the humid jungle air.

"I wish that I had had more time... I know that there is always something else on the horizon... but I had so much I was working for."

He glanced over to his companion. "What makes you say you hadn't done anything? I'm sure you'd done something in thirty years... maybe not built the great wall of china or some great occupation... but at least something meaningful to you?"

Billy grunted, half floating half leaning back in the water watching the sky, his brows furrowed. "Waisted. Feckin' waisted th'whole bloody thing."

Ambrose rested his palms on his furry thighs, leaning forward a bit.
"If you hadn't come here, though... would you have even realized that? Or changed it?"

He sighed. "Sometimes you don't realize a good thing until it's gone."

Good things.. Goood things... oh yeah, they were gone... but not totally gone, not completely gone not totally out of reach yet.... just hidden away as a puzzle, taunting and teasing him with this ******** up clarity and this rediculous.... problem.

"Y'd think tha'..." Bill mumbled, staring so hard at the clouds his right eye twitched. The msucle spasm seemed to be enough to snap him out of his thoughts, grunting as he raised a hand to rub it sorely.

Ambrose cocked his head in a very canine fashion as he watched Billy's eyes going somewhere very distant, wondering what the man, however sleazy, might have been like before whatever happened to send him down this rather nasty spirial.

The man was suddenly surprisingly quiet.

Ambrose flicked at the water in front of him before trying to breach the quiet. "I... apologize, but I don't think that I recall your name from our previous encounter."

Billy sat up, arms resting on his lap now as he sat on the shallower banks, tentacles still poking for more water. He cleared his throat, glancing to the bank. "William," He grunted flatly.

"William." Ambrose echoed with a nod, adding the name to the growing list of islanders in his mind. "Well.... even though it probably sounds contrite... maybe there is something of significance that you can do even though we're all trapped here. Who's to say what's important in the big scheme of things anyway?" A small tug at the corner of his mouth. Ambrose wasn't even sure how apt he was to believe such a thing. he had built up his entire life for a few small goals, most of which were now shot out of the water.

He still had Angelina he could cling to here, a comfortable remnant of his old life, but Ambrose had not exacly made a move to carve out a new life here yet.

"An' maybe we'll all jes' become a nice little pettin' zoo o' fun an' excitement an' love an' friendship," Billy snorted, finally standing with his back to the wolf-man, tentacles and suckers twitching as the water rushed off of him.

Ambrose remained sitting about chest-deep in the water. He was soaking wet, but it felt good compared to the sweltering heat that he knew was only going to be getting worse as the days crawled towards summer.

Ambrose made a small disgruntled noise at the thought. "Hopefully there will be more in store for us than that." Ambrose replied, but there wasn't much conviction in the words.

He averted his eyes politely as Billy rose, as naked as he was but without the luxury of obscuring fur, out of the water.

"Well, we'll see, now won't we?" Bill slipped on his worn jeans, lips pursed as he collected his things, "Nice swimmin' wit ye, Amby, but I'm off." With a wave over his shoulder, he didn't even wait for a responce befor walking away.

Despite the fact that william didn't look back, Ambrose returned the wave with a sigh as he leaned back in the water.

"Take care, William." He replied. "Best of luck to you."

And now that Ambrose was actually alone, he slipped his eyes close and enjoyed listening to the noises of the river and the jungle.

Emelyn

To see the rather small strips of fabric that comprised Emelyn's white bikini... one would have thought there was no room for any additions. Emelyn, apparently, hadn't gotten the memo. In the side strap, she'd tucked her flint-carved knife, the handle of which she'd wrapped with water-shaped beach grass and left poking up over the edge for easy access. She didn't think there'd be much need for it down at the river- but all the same- she didn't feel safe without its minute protection.

But then again, she also didn't expect to have... company.

"Oh," she said summarily- more an exclamation of surprise than a word.
