Hey, I'm Raj, better known as Anna. Been trying to teach myself since I was 14, am now 19 and haven't gotten much down at all. I'm big into Jrock, anime/manga, and learning about everything there is to know about Japan.

I joined awhile ago, but haven't really done much here. I do feel guilty about that, but I have been busy! I go by many aliases, but generally people call me Straw or Key. I've been studying Japanese for... Well now, several months? I am by no means near moderate, I am strictly a beginner! I hope I can learn everything (which is of course ridiculous, but a girl can dream).
My very first delve into Japan was through anime (it seems to be a recurring theme for almost anyone I know but not always). When I was, oh, about eight or so, whenever Pokemon first appeared (although at the time I didn't know it was from Japan haha). After that, I continued a rather unhealthy obsession with Japan - more strictly speaking, anime and manga.

I still enjoy the occasional manga and anime (Miyazaki is a genius after all, I can watch his animations again and again!). Now my interest in Japan and its, well everything is just that, in everything. I LOVE the language, I find it so much fun to learn (of course I find it difficult to memorize kanji, but it's a learning process). I hope by joining here I can find direct outlets to helping me study, broadening my knowledge and helping me to continue even when I don't have classes!

Thanks so much for admitting me into this guild, and I hope I can use it for my dark, evil purposes of learning the Japanese language. wink

Hi all!

I got in love with this language and culture just recently, about a few months ago. I have tried to learn the symbols/characters, still I have many problems with kanji biggrin It really is hard >.<
About other stuff, I can stay standard things like 'Watashi Wa Colonel Gabrielle desu.' and 'O-genki desu ka?' and 'Arigatou gozaimasu' and so on biggrin
I'd love to learn more about Japan and the language, and I'd like to speak with someone in Japanese, but I guess I am still not ready for it, though I'd try it in a few weeks or so.

Thank you for letting me join you wink

EDIT
P.S.:
You can call me either Col, Gab, or Borsi wink

Konnichiwa! I'm new to this guild. I've been trying to learn Japanese for about a year now and considering I'm doing it all on my own, I don't think I'm doing too bad :-p I'm keeping my chin up! I love anime/manga and I also like many of the Japanese drama/tv shows out there. I've always dreamt of going to Japan and hope that someday I will be able to. I really want to know what it's like. I've seen a few views from other people in this guild and I look forward to seeing more!

Hmmm.. it is now sanji desu where I am so I guess the proper term is Konichiwa. For about the past 6 months, I've been trying to learn Japanese in a somewhat haphazard manner. I have had VERY little time on the computer during this time, and while I do have Rossetta Stone, I find it rather difficult to interpret the pictures. ((Waaaayyy to often do I finally get it right and ask, wait, thats a guy/girl?!)) Doing only about 30 minuites of studying every two weeks or so doesn't help either. Anyway, I should have more comp time now, since I recently got laid off. But at least I can use this time to get in some serious learning. I'm hoping to find a good sensei here that can help me put all the jumbled pieces of Nihongno I know into a clearer picture, and fill in the blanks, such as Particles, (which I know almost nothing about.) So, now that thats done, I'm headed to the Learning subforum.

Konbawa! Watashi no namae wa Rain desu! Well, my full name is Rain Misoa. I have just joined today and I just wanted to say hi to everyone in the Guild. I've been studying Japanese on and off for the pass... seven years now! XD But I'm no where near being fluent since I haven't really taken it seriously until recently. I'm nineteen years old and I love anime/manga. I also love playing RPGs till late at night/early morning! But I must say that my passion is writing. I may not write a lot for the public to see but I have loads of little writings here and there for my own enjoyment. ^_^ Anyway, I'm interested in both the Japanese lanuage and its culture and I hope by being here, I will be able to get the full knowledge I've been searching for right here. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be off to my studies! ^_^

Hiya! I'm Heather. I've been interested in Japan and Jaanese for about a year, and have been learning the language for about a month. I love everything about Japan, from the culture, to the lifestyle, to the anime, to the music. My favourite band is UVERworld. My favourite anime is Princess Princess.

I'd love to learn more about Japan and Japanese which is why I'm here. Hajimemashite! Thans for your time.

Hajimemashite, minna-sama. Black rose Maria desu.
I'm 19 years old, and am in the midst of Japanese classes right now.
Ever since I was 3, I've loved Japanese culture, but I only knew of ramen noodles and Sailor Moon back then.

I'm hoping to share opinions and memories of anything Japanese, and have lots of fun with these posts.

Konnichiwa!

My name is Krys {Short for Krystal but I hate my name so, grr!} But ya'll can call me what you want. Im fifteen and am currently attending a High School that also allows me to take College Calsses. So by the time I graduate form High School I will also have my Assoicate's Degree.

Im very interested in Japan and aim on visiting Tokyo one of these days once I graduate from High School and all the great stuff.

Ive already begun to learn Hiragana and Katakana and the everyday basics, but I believe your Guild will be able to help me perfect my skills. Ive only memorized the Vowels and the "Ka's" and a few of the "Sa's". I have about two friends at my school who are basically like my teachers with the Japanese Languages. Though lately I haven't really had any time to get together with them and get any information for me brain due to all my classes and projects. My stupid school only provides Spanish as a Language Class so I can't take Japanese as a Class or else I would, and I don't have the money to take classes or anything over the Summer so I resort to the Internet with my spare time.

>__<

My friends consider me to be a level or two below becoming a good manga artist, but their crazy so I don't know if their words are True enough. All I know is that I ejoy drawing Anime and all that great stuff, but I seem to fail with drawing those cute Chibis. {Mine end up looking like mis-shaped elephants}

I have a hunger for Pocky and Yan-Yan, my favorite Japanese Snacks >:3

And a lil more, but that's the basics for that. It's mostly all stupid little tid bits but oh well, that's just me.

Hello, all. I had your names and everything typed out from the page I just read but I accidentally hit the exit for the tab I had open. x]

Anyhow, my name is Randall, and I am currently 17 years old (though I am legally an adult on Jan. 26, 2010). I graduate high school within a month or two (personal studies, thank goodness).

Random facts:
~Spaghetti is my favorite food, chicken wings a close second.
~I'm white, 5'10", and 130 lbs. Thin, but not by my own choice. ;P
~I like MMOs and RPGs.
~I never get enough sleep.
~I am from California, USA.

I have been interested in being multilingual since I was a tiny kid, and I currently only know a decent amount of Spanish in addition to English. I can write, read, and listen in Spanish, but speaking is not as good as natural speakers.

Nihongo is an interest of mine because of the very catchy culture Japan has (who doesn't like Ramen, Pocky, etc.?). I'm not obsessed over them like some (no finger-pointing razz ) but they're good. Anyhow, I would love to learn the language. Can anyone point me in the direction of starter stuff?

Konnichiwa!
Watashi wa Shadowheart Pixie desu, but please call me Pixie.
If you're interested in my real name, just pm me or spam my profile.

I'm a 19 year old girl living in the Frisian part of the Netherlands.
I speak Dutch, Frisian, English, French, German and a little Japanese.
The French language is inspiring for me and Japanese is a challenge.
The reason I want to learn Japanese, is that I want to study there for six months as a college exchange student. (That's 3 years from now.)

This is my first year in college, but for the second time. (What?!)
Well, I was studying Software Engineering and Information Technology,
but got tired of it in just a year. (The subject wasn't boring, but the school.)
And now I'm studying Communication Systems/Multimedia Design.
Basicly it means I get to learn how to design magazines and websites,
try solving communication problems and learn how to coach small corporations.

Anyway, about something more personal now:
I'm in love with Anime and Manga, have about 500GB of them on my HD!
Currently watching: RahXephon, and reading: Loveless
I like Anime and Manga with some philosophy in it, that makes you think.
My favorite anime up till now is Ergo Proxy. (I also like Bleach...)

I love to draw, write and design things. (No clothes or furniture!)
And I have a giant sweettooth... (Give me sugar! It's my addiction!)

If you got any more questions for me or want to add me as a friend;
pm me, spamm my profile or add me as a gaia friend! biggrin

Xxx,
Pixie

Ohayo gozaimasu! Watashi wa Michiyo desu.
This is my third year studying Japanese.
I can read and write hiragana and katakana.
I am working on memorizing more kanji and building my vocabulary.
Once I graduate from college, I plan to move to Japan and teach English.
I hope to live in Kyoto.
I love the Japanese culture and want to learn more!
