Erik The Remarkable Yay! My GPA isn't that high, mines always in between 3.5- 3.7. I want to be smart like you! If mine was that low, I would not be alive right now. The lowest grade my mom will not freak out about is an A-.

My mom's (predicted) response to certain grades: A+ = We'll give you a present! Dad, buy her that (insert name of random thing I wanted for Christmas) now! A = Good! A- = Well, that's okay, I guess. B+ = Oh no! You need to improve! B = Write a letter to your teacher! That just isn't fair! B- = We'll have to send you to a camp this summer! C+ or lower = I REALLY don't want to know. x_X

Phoenix Fajita I wouldn't last a day in your house. I would be exiled. Probably. My mom seems to be stuck in her Chinese tradition of GIRLS MUST ALL BE PERFECT IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE SO THEY CAN SUCCEED IN LIFE AND MARRY A GOOD HUSBAND AND HAVE LOTS OF NICE CHILDREN. EDIT: And for men, THEY NEED TO BE PERFECT TOO SO THE CHILDREN THEY HAVE WITH THEIR PERFECT WIVES WILL ALSO BE ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN EVERY WAY WHEN THEY ARE ADULTS.

Another reason, she doesn't mind so much, is that I am the first generation of my family to be born in America. My Dad came from Russia. My mom came from Poland. Though my mom MOved from Poldand when she was 5, she still has an accent.

My mom also claims that she and my dad were the best students in their respective schools.

Her and my Dad don't really care to much, for my education, as they were brought up diffrently in Europe than we do in the United States. Another thing is they don't understand the Educating system out here, even though my Mom went to college. Eh, I'm sure, it's just because they're weird. I'll have to ask them.

Yeah, Chinese parents are very strict. Heck, Chinese people in general are strict.

Heya everyone
-back-reads-
Ah well one reason that families are different is just based on how/where they were raised. -nods- Like you said Rai, good grades and stuff is Chinese tradition. Not everyone was raised with those traditions.

I was raised to just make it out of my neighboorhood and not end up like the people living there. Here... something. ninja Ah, Hispanics. Just trying to rise above the previous generation. Brings a tear to my eye.

My parents, living in China during the Cultural Revolution, always told me that life is so much easier here and I shouldn't be concerned about not having enough. Instead, I should be the best in the world at everything I do. How I'm going to be the best at existing, I have no idea. xd
