" No idea at all. Clueless as a surface elf in the Underdark for the first time." See? Complex...she bashed on her own race without thought to it at all. Though seemed she was quite comfortable with it. "We though Malik had...but apparently not. What I worry about is Malik's own retaliation...he gave up a God given gift to have that sword blessed...and it was for nothing." The was depressing now wasn't it? Though she looked off in a direction beyond Zahara, feeling Malik's own little bout of weariness and trying not to worry about it too much, he hated it when she fussed and even more when she hovered.

Meilikki! No! Come back!

His thrashes went wild when the image left, roars made the cavern walls tremble as he vainly tried to eascape the elemental ropes. For the moment, he was incapacitated with blood thirsty thoughts.

Thrahaja stuck his nose under Malik's arm, offering extra support. "Did you get anything useful?"

Meanwhile Borphious had come back, ythough he was riderless at this piont. He requested that Kafele accompany him, since there seemed to be more passangers than one horse sized dragon could handle safely. Thrahaja allowed Kafele to leave, her rider doubling up with Lucan.

Flipping through the map didn't help either of them....first of all Aella didn't know how to read them, and she had learned only very little elvish in her time. Besides, this kind of thing wouldn't be common logic, would it? "Maybe we should try history books."

"A location. the city of the dead. the place where Ton and Eca's spiritual forms reside. that's why your forbidded to go there, I take it. the fumes, and the gases woudl kill you, where as they won't kill the elemental dragons Tanundra or Alaran."

He got himself up, sheathing Malvolence. which did weaken his physical from somewhat. after all the blade did enhance strength as well.

"I tried as best I could to get him to a state where he might turn his attentions to gathering Dimitiri's enemies as opposed to trying to destroy them in seeking her out. We'll see how that pans out, though."

Onyx shrugged.

"I dunno. I mean ley lines or magical areas might be marked...concentrations of necromantic power..but I can't read this any better than I'm assuming you can. So history is probably our next best bet. but I doubt we have a large history section."

So Onyx moved down through th rows of books, occasionally stopping and pulling one out, adn putting it back.

"Histories shoudl be three isles down on the right I think."

"Not good, not good at all." Damn lich just didn't want to die now did he? She knew somebody else who was as stubborn as he was, not that she was pointing any fingers, or elbows for that matter. Yes it seemed the situation looked pretty bleak. The Oracle was suddenly gone, the lich was not dead and it seemed hat one of their strongest members who took great pride in kicking asses hadn't even been able to kill him. What did that say for the rest of them? She wasn't going there. "Well, maybe everything will work out at some point. After all...eventually Meilikki will be found, right?" Not that she really believed it...

"Right, eventually she will be. And whoever is causing all the trouble is going to get thier dues." A nod to confirm that. Wasn't like Piper was going to let Meilikki get thrown to the wolves and shredded like she was nothing of importance. Piper wouldn't be able to live with herself if she allowed herself to turn a blind eye to the Oracle, she already turned a blind eye to so much already. "Well then, talk of gloom and doon aside..." Her attention turned to the foals, who were vying for attention from both elves now.

"As it should be. Revenge is always fun and if Kimmuriel is involved, well I feel sorry for Din if he has her." Kimmuriel claimed to be Lloth's son which Zahara had to admit seemed a bit farfetched to her but...he still had a temper like a drow and was fully willing to use it. She turned back to the foals and gave out pets and sugar in equal measure. "Is Malik going to be upset at them being inside? And will Nightmare try to bite me for stealing them from her?" Neither of which would be fun to deal with, but she'd take Malik over Nightmare any day. She wasn't scared of the horse, but man could she be a b***h.

"Hm? The foals? It doesn't matter if he is or not, they're my business. I don't like him having slaves in the house but he sure does have them in here now doesn't he?" That was a nice point to make and it worked in her favor. Malik may not like her horses inside, but what say did he have in it when it? That was her stubborn point on it. "And Ramoth won't try at you, she'll come after me first...she knows I take them off her hands, and that if Serino is gone, they wouldn't be left alone anyhow. She'd look for me, Keely, and then you in that order."

"The land of the dead, yes, I cannot go there. And neither can you, unless you have the masks. Or someone who is in the favor of the Sky Father who can travel with you."

He sighed a little bit. It was all rather troublsome. The dead city was a full day's ride, straight through morning and night, for one such as himself, and he could not go. Tanundra could not go, since he was incipacitated. Who did that leave? The Wizen he supposed, but they had passed ther uins of that tower on their way here.

"Let's hope whatever Malik's got, it's old. I doubt something like what were are looking for is a recent development."

Well this had been going well, hadn't it? And she was starting to get more comfortable as well.

Malik rubbed his chin lightly.

"favor of the sky father. anyone have that besides Dimitri? like perhaps his son?"

all the more reaosn to get their hands on him.

"bearing this in mind..I need to return to my home, to prepare it for arrivals from Roarke's academy."

And up on Nightmare he got.

"If you truly can aid more, then it would be appreciated. if you can find Din, Dimitri's living son, that perhaps woudl prove in our favor..as the son my have access to the same places the father does. and if you can...I have need of anything that can give advantage. dragonscale armor, blessed weapons and armor, magical talismans. anything that can be found that can combat the power of Dimitri."

Onyx smiled lightly.

"Old to us, or old to an elf? there are pretty vast differences of opinion on age there."

But they got to where they needed to be, and Onyx started handing over books to her and piling some for himself.

"I know it's not easy to do this when you feel that you should be out there looking. but trust me..Dimitri's survival has pissed off Malik something fierce. Malik is going to bend every resource he can to locate and destroy Dimitri..wherever he is."

"So I'm top of the food chain, hmm? In this case I'd probably rather be bottom but Nightmare is so easily pissed off these days it's not even funny. Funny thing Malik has a horse who has temper tantrums just like him." She idly petted at the Tempest who had decided her lap was a perfectly good pillow and was currently trying to nose her little way into Zahara's skirt to that pocket where she kept her sugar. "When are we expecting this company to get here?" No, the thought of more people in and around her, maybe even poking at her didn't thrill her at all. Ebony fingers tangled in a fiery mane as the Zephmare nuzzled and tried to bribe her.

Piper smiled fondly at the little Tempest. She certinally got what she wanted when she wanted it, quite a herd leader in the making. Ramoth was probably giddy about it. "She's just protective of those she cares about...and finds worthy that is. Besides, I think she hates Sevilin more than you, so there's something to be happy about." A chuckle at that but it died quickly enough as mentioning the name brought guilt in the surface born elf. Then a shrug of her shoulders, rather oblivious to the activity around them. "No idea. I suppose Malik will tell me more when he gets back."

"Or someone created with the help of the Sky Father. Such a deity would take interest in those he helped bring to life."

He waved a claw. "We will stay here and gaurd the General, but we will keep a close connection with your fortress, should you or Master Roarke need us. We will do anything else that we are able." Dragon scale armor he said, well one of them might be shedding enough to make one at least, they'd see what they could do.

She laughed a bit. "Let's say helf-elf and go for the middle."

She set a pile in front of her, staring at it a bit. "That is exactly what I feel like I should be doing. Like right now....like I'm usless. Like this whole world is usless."

She smiled sadly. "Thanks for the help[."

Malik gave a nod, and reared up Nightmare, turning her toward home and they both faded into the dark...coming back into being at the stables..upon which Malik was promptly thrown with a loud cracking sound, his impact breaking one of the boards on a makeshift stall for the new arrivals. Nightmare gave a loud, and very irrate neighing sound.

"Well. someone at least is back to thier moody self."

Malik got himself up..that was going to be sore later, and dusted off his clothes.

Onyx pondered that a moment, flipping through pages of books.

"It's not always the soldier that does the fighting that wins a battle. it the strategist, the tactian that has never picked up a weapon that is the true victor. by studying his enemy, by learning the lay of the lands around him..he can take a small force, and crush a much larger one."

A glance over at her.

"Right now...Malik, Tarathiel, Piper, Zahara...they are the soldiers. we're the tacticians. for all the strength was have, it means nothign if you can't find and get to your enemy, correct?"

Four sets of little ears perked, looks being given between each other. They knew they sound. Mom wasn't happy at all. Which could mean one of two things, she was either worried or just generally angry. The little Tempest stood herself up, after all, she was in charge, right?, and shook her head, giving a nicker and a whinny toward the general direction of the sound of her mother. Did she know that mom possibly couldn't hear her? Of course not, but who cared. Of course the other three were a mix of inquisitive and worried, the two winged ones nudging closer to Piper. They still weren't used to that temper.

Piper looked away from Zahara a moment, equally sensative ears hearing that horrible sound. An angry Nightmare, joy. Though she had expected it none the less. "Well...seems Malik is bacl...and Ramoth isn't a happy camper."

Zahara's eyes rolled. Nightmare wasn't happy, Malik wasn't happy, well she wasn't happy either dammit, why should they get to win? Her boot tapped idly and she ran her fingers through the Tempest's fiery mane. If it came down to it Nightmare would go after Piper since she'd been the one to bring the horses in in the first place, Zahara had just come in and seen them already there. "Ramoth will be fine, once she realizes that her foals are safe in our hands. After all, with her gone wouldn't they have been left alone?" And Malik, well who cared if he was pissy or not. In her opinion he deserved it but that was another matter altogether. Gods she had to get rid of this achy feeling, instincts were rearing up again and not making her happy. Subconsciously she glanced around, half expecting Sevilin to materialize out of her thoughts and come walking around a corner.
