The Serenity RPG looks fun.
On a similiar note, I'm greatly enjoying Dragons Ages greatly. Sadly, I only have until Wednesday to play it.
never heard of this Serenity RPG, details?
It's a licensed rpg based on the movie, rather than teh show. (I guess they only got the rights from universal, not fox).
It uses the points-based system, kinda like in Mutants and Masterminds, instead of a class system.
It's pretty unique, among modern RPG's I've played. For one thing, there are no d20s involved at all. Also, abilities and skills are measured in dice, not bonuses, so for strength, you would roll a d8 or a d12 or whatever, instead of adding a bonus to a d20.
The focus is more on story and character than on combat, and it has quite useful appendices with info on all the planets and moons in the 'Verse, as well as an appendix on cursing in Chinese.
So, yeah, awesome.
