Luciano and Michelle went out in her car. She drove them to downtown Durem, where they parked the car in front of their favourite place to eat. Michelle helped him out of the car, of course. He whispered a 'Thank you' to her and kissed her. They walked in and got a small table in the back- a very romantic spot. They talked a little more over champagne, they ordered a small appetizer, then they ordered dinner and went back to conversing with each other. Later dinner came, they ate, and talked a little more. "I think we should tell our families that we're back now." "That sounds like a good idea. . Buuuuuut right now let's just enjoy each other's company." Luciano smiled and softly nodded, "That doesn't sound too bad. . I like that idea better."
They finished up their dinner, ordered dessert to go- along with their finest champagne, and left the restaurant. Dinner was fun for both of them; They had a lot more to talk about than usual, and the food was amazing. The only thing that bothered Luciano was that Michelle paid for everything. . Usually he likes to pay for it all. After Michelle paid for the bill, she helped Luciano up and walked him to the door. "Are you okay?" She asked, Luciano wasn't used to Michelle being like this with him. Yes, he loved it when she took care of him but tonight she was doing everything for him. As much as it bothered him, he was also very happy. Luciano gave her a smile and he said "I'm not in too much pain anymore. . Thank you." They kissed and then walked out to the car.
When they got outside, Michelle unlocked it as they walked over to the car. It was pretty cold outside; If Luciano wasn't in so much pain, he would've enjoyed it more. As they walked Luciano talked to her, "Thank you. . For all of this. I mean it." Michelle stopped, as did Luciano, she wrapped her arms around his waist and Luciano leaned in to rest his forehead against hers. she whispered, "I do it because I love you. . . And I love you more than I can explain. ." Michelle got up on her tippy toes and kissed Luciano on the lips, he smiled and kissed back.
Michelle and Luciano weren't too far from the car now, as they walked Luciano would have to stop once in a while to take a break. Landing on his back, and on his side too many times really hurt him. "God, this hurts so much. Usually my tolerance for pain is much higher than this." Michelle giggled and replied, "Oh stop! You're a big baby when you get hurt!- I've seen you! And besides! Much worse things could've happened to you!" Luciano smiled and he said, "Fine. Like what?" They started to walk again as Michelle replied, "Weeeeeeell. . Liiiike. . . I don't know? Being shot in the head-" Suddenly a loud shot was fired and Michelle went down. This all happened so fast that Luciano didn't see a bullet hole between Michelle's eyes. Luciano was unfortunately unarmed, and he was too hurt to fight. "It scared me too, but you didn't see me hit the dir-. . ." As he spoke Luciano had turned to see his lifeless fiance laying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. Not too far away was part of her scalp that was blown off from the shot. Luciano felt the tears in his eyes escaping as he dropped to his knees and scrambled to her "No, no, no no, no!! Michelle!!!" He shouted. He pulled her close and gently shook her "No, no, you can't be dead!! You can't be dead!!!" And that's when it hit him, the council had said to him "One of your loved ones must die in order to restore the balance in which you have disturbed. . ." Luciano froze, he looked down at Michelle, and he couldn't contain himself any longer. Luciano broke down and cried as he held his lifeless Michelle in his arms. "I'm so sorry!! This is all my fault!! I never should have saved my mother!! I'm so sorry you had to pay for my mistake!!" He held her tighter as he cried, and he gently rocked back and forth. "I'm so sorry, Michelle. . . I'm so, so sorry. . ."

(@ Shadow specifically: Mind if I also use the small-font OOC formatting, minus the color? I like how it discreetly separates itself from the rest of the post and shrinks giant walls of non-RP text.) (I don't think anybody said anything about reading ALL 500+ pages. Even I wouldn't read that much unless I was archiving it. The standard is reading the past ten pages or wherever you left off, whichever's shorter, before asking about the plot in OOC. Some of us are willing to dig up page numbers and summaries of past storylines for those that are interested in the overall plot. Also, it's recommended that you look at the RP Allies/Enemies/Neutrals threads for profiles of 'side' or 'secondary' characters, and the Character Text Color Quick-Sheet for identifying characters from their dialogue colors. Those threads aren't really used any longer, but we're not locking/deleting them any time soon...)
Curiosity won over the scientist, and Kassa plucked the folder from the bookshelf. She sat on the bed, set the folder down, and flipped the front cover. Her eyes were greeted with a crayon drawing of a family of five, composed of stick figures. One was tall, wore square glasses, and had spiky hair. There was a row of three smaller ones, who all looked like each other except for one identifying thing - oval-shaped glasses, a knit hat with a ball of fluff at the top, or a torn-up oversized sweater. One last stick figure was sloppily drawn; it wore a black dress and hoop earrings, and had devil horns on its head.Looks like Irwin and...some other people. One of those triplets has to be Sabe.
She moved onto the next drawing, one of a snowy landscape. In the far background was a house, and in the foreground was a stick figure lying down, crying and wearing the oversized sweater. Kassa continued to flip through these drawings from the folder; the quality of the drawings dropped as she flipped through them, while the scenes got increasingly sinister. There were also a number of happier pictures, like one featuring Irwin and two of the triplets at a part-laboratory, part-dormitory setting with one other stick figure that wore a white dress, had triangular glasses and long curly brown hair. All of the drawings had some things in common: the one with the sweater was in every single drawing, and almost always crying. The one with the horns usually had a smile on its face. The one looking like Irwin was only present in the nice scenes. Kassa saw one last drawing, but could not bear to look at it for very long. She hastily flipped the picture over to a blank side and fled back to the bookshelf. Oh...my...god. Why?! How screwed up was this kid to draw all of this?
Not much later, she heard ear-piercing screams coming from a few floors down. In the parlor, Irwin had been talking a lot about scientific projects of his and his bad experience teaching at Wesleydale, when Sabe had remembered something and suddenly curled into a ball, uncontrollably crying and screaming for help. His stage makeup smudged and dripped from his face as he fought off a person that wasn't there...and losing.

A few minutes passed before Nariana finally peeled herself off of the rug. She got up slower than the first time, careful not to aggravate her leg. (She cut it, remember.) She trudged her way into the kitchen and was immediately overwhelmed with the scent of cleaning fluids.* "Whoa, what happened here..." she said and instinctively took a step backward. After getting over the initial shock, she went to the sink to wash her hands with soap and rinse her face. "When was the last time I ate good food?...Gosh, that's right. I didn't get to finish my breakfast!" she realized as she walked to the fridge and peeked inside. She pulled out some strawberries and went back to the sink to rinse them off. Once she placed them in a bowl, she made some toast for herself and began eating it immediately after pulling it out of the toaster. When the toast was devoured, she ate the strawberries while still standing at the counter. "Yummy..."
*(You cleaned, right, Waffle?)

Several hours later Luciano came home from the Police station. Yes, he was questioned by the police after Michelle was shot by an unknown gunman. Luciano became furious when they asked if he did it, and the conversation went something like, "How the ******** could I when she had my arm around her? She was helping me walk!!! Are you people THIS ******** idiotic?!- You can clearly tell that it came from a long-range weapon!! YOU IDIOTS!!!" ". . (Ahem) So. . . Does this mean you didn't kill her, then?" Luciano had gotten up and left after that. He wasn't under arrest. He wasn't being charged. So he just left.
When he came home, Luciano just walked towards the stairs but when he got there. . He stopped. He was about to go up to the bedroom that he and Michelle now used to share. He was about to go to the place that he loved being in. And now. . Now it was no longer worth going in to. Luciano couldn't hold back the tears anymore. He made his way over to the couch, he sat down and he cried so hard. "I can't believe that this is happening to me. .," He said, he took his mask off and threw it to the floor, "What am I going to do now. .?" Luciano swept his hand through his hair; He couldn't stop the tears, but what was it helping? What was crying going to do? It wasn't going to make anything better. It wasn't going to solve anything, yet he couldn't stop.
Luciano wiped his tears and lied down on his side. He didn't care that his clothes had his fiance's blood all over them, as well as her perfume-. . . Her perfume. . Luciano closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, It was his favourite scent, and she only wore it on special occasions. This reminded him that he never told her how much he really appreciated it. And this was when Luciano began to cry even more, knowing that there was still so much that he never got to tell her. There was so much regret; "We should've gotten married." "We didn't get to have kids, yet." "She really wanted to buy a house somewhere- I should've said 'Yes'."
He suddenly got angry because the DPD, Durem Police Department, named him the prime suspect in Michelle's murder. Did they forget who her father was? Did they forget who her mother was?- An Arms Dealer married to The Ambassador. Didn't it ever occur to them that both of her parents have enemies? Ari has been known for pissing people off, and Rosalee has been known for pissing other politicians off with her "radical ideas". Their enemies knew that their daughter was their prized possession. Especially Ari. Ari loved Michelle so dearly, and he would go fighting nail and teeth to protect her.
Luciano grabbed one of the couch pillows and held it against him. More tears fell as he squeezed the pillow in his arms, ". . . I wish it were me. . instead of you. ."

(Nari: Yes I did.)
At the bookshelf, Kassa grabbed for anything she could get her hands on to distract herself with. She tugged a large book from an upper shelf and opened it; it was a photo album of Waffle in her childhood years. In most of the photos Waffle was very pudgy and just as small, rolling a magic crystal orb around; it was the same one she would end up carrying with her to this day. She looks adorable in these pictures. Now I can see why Sabe wanted to be around her. It's too bad she turned into a spoiled brat.
Soon, Sabe stopped and regained his composure. Something about these sudden mental shifts bugged him. He felt his arm get nudged, and looked up. Irwin offered him a folded handkerchief. He looked worried himself.

A few hours later KD woke up. It had gotten dark out. She hopped into the shower and got dressed. With a cigarette and burlap sack in hand she headed down the stairs to the main lobby... there she saw Luciano crying on the couch... she was taken aback at this, and against all her better judgement she slowly walked over to him, set a hand on his shoulder and quietly asked: "Boss... what happened?"

Luciano, for the very life of him, couldn't stop crying. And he wanted to, because one of the teammates could see him cry. But his image was no longer important. It didn't matter- nothing mattered anymore. Everything that he has ever loved and cared for was taken away all because of a mistake that he made, and not just that but his only means of protecting his friends was taken away. His power. So, not only was the love of his life gone but also what he felt made him useful to the group.
Luciano didn't look at her, but instead he held tighter on to the pillow and he said, "I ******** everything up so bad," he cried "I lost her, and I lost everything else. I don't know what to do anymore." He would wipe his tears, but more would just keep coming, "All of this happened because I did one little thing, KD, ONE little thing. . . I just wanted my parents. I just wanted the hurt to stop. Instead I made it worse, and now she's gone!!"

KD gasped, "Michelle?!" as she sunk onto the couch next to him. She too began to cry, she wrapped her arm around his shoulders and whispered over and over to him, "It is not your fault... It is not your fault..."

Bohemian Lioness "Yes sire," Nicola said with all the formality she could muster. Walking towards her bags, she glanced around surveying those who were to be her comrades. Given all the bruises, cuts, and blood that splattered them, she felt sure that these people, even if some were wearing pajama, could handle their own in merely any circumstance. Still, I don't normally work with others...so how is this suppose to work? she thought as started to pick up one of her bag. Sighing, she was about to reach for another one when she heard a voice behind her. Turning, she present slightly frosty smile, "I'm Sy'rasri, you can call me Nicola and yes, some assistance would be welcomed."Sure she could understand why he was asking now, first impressions were important. Second impressions were even more important if one had happened to have utterly destoryed themselves in their first. I suppose, she thought handing him a bag, that I'm just miffed he left me hulling my bags a bit ago. Vin saw she was some what confused, he smiled slightly. "I don't know what room you wanna use so lead the way." He looked ready like a dog waiting for its owner to throw its ball. "Have you lived here long?"

(King: You REALLY need to read back a couple of posts before posting, you'll find that a crap ton of stuff has happened including a time skip) Skotti had just woken up and walked into the lobby when he heard the comotion. He looked over the railing to see Luciano and KD on the couch. I better stay back on this one he thought, not wanting to make the situation worse, even if he did not know what the situation was.

Letting the drawing close, Nicola heaved a worn but pleased sigh. After the awkwardness of travel upstairs with the new fellow and setting in, she had expected the old apprehension to bubble up within her. Yet, she could only feel a faint buzz, of what she wasn't sure. Settling on to her newly made bed, she pulled off her shoes and wiggled her toes as she considered the matter.
It isn't fear, or excitement, it is possible that it was a mixture of the two, she thought leaning back on her bed. For a moment she tilted the notions around and then finally surrendered to the more weighted matter. Her lack of rest. She was bushed, having spent almost two straight days "preparing" for this group assignment, as her father liked to put it. She barely stopped herself from gritting her teeth, let her frustration come out in yet in a deep breath out. Whatever the buzz was, it didn't stop her from nodding off.

After Nariana finished her breakfast and took time to sit at the table and rest, she trudged to the infirmary to clean and wrap her thigh up properly. She grabbed antiseptic and bandages and then proceeded to her room upstairs. 'Man, I need to shower,' she thought as she headed to her bathroom. She peeled off her filthy clothes, stepped in the shower, and let the hot water run over her worn-down body for a good ten minutes before finally washing up. Once she got out, she dried off and disinfected her thigh. "Ssss!!' she hissed when the alcohol seeped into her cut. When the pain subsided, she wrapped her leg and got dressed in a clean set of clothes identical to what she had on before. 'Ahh, much better...Now to catch up on work. I wonder how Max is doing.' She crawled into her bed and grabbed her laptop from the foot of it. After passing her laptop's authentication system, she logged into her personal chat room.
Agent 7: Anyone home? Five minutes passed. Maestro: Ah, she has finally returned. I assume that Kuro's gang is treating you well? Agent 7: Yes...quite. You will not believe what happened. Maestro: You can't surprise me so easily. Brief. Agent 7: A small cylindrical device came in the mail and transported those present upon its discovery through time. Several visits in people's past later, and it finally brought us back home today. Maestro: You know that this is December, not April. Agent 7: I wouldn't waste my time thinking that up if it wasn't true. Shame for not believing your boss. You deserve a deduction from your pay check. Maestro: My apologies, ma'am...I could not believe this if you were not my boss and I did not fear you. Agent 7: I understand. Guess who I ran into while traveling in the future...Don't worry. I respected the time-space continuum and did not talk to him. Maestro: Oh, dear...How did I look? Agent 7: You had all of your hair, rest assured. Maestro: Yes...relief. You know me well. But back onto serious business if you don't mind. While you were, er, on business, I had some business to take over for you. There are a few new contracts waiting to be signed, and I wanted you to come in because I had a few questioning glances at some of the terms. I would normally just sign myself because you have given me permission (such an honor), but it deals with our newer prototypes. When can you come in for a detailed briefing? Agent 7: If you come and get me some time this evening, I will be ready. I would say sooner, but I would like to rest. Maestro: Absolutely. Text me when you are getting ready, and I will come then. Agent 7: You are a lovely second-in-command. Maestro: Lovely enough for a raise? Agent 7: No...signing off. Maestro: Worth a try. Farewell.
Nariana logged out, set an alarm on her laptop, and closed it. She placed it on the floor and got comfortable under her covers. Soon, she was fast asleep.
When she awoke several hours later to her alarm, she texted Max and got dressed in a purple long-sleeved blouse and black tight pants. She went in the bathroom to brush her hair and brush her teeth. Then she walked downstairs to wait in the lobby. She was greeted by a sagging Luciano and KD. She gasped and texted Max, telling him that something was wrong with one of the agents and she may need a little more time. She went to the kitchen and found some tea. She prepared it the best she could and poured two cups. 'What could possibly be wrong? Oh, dear,' she thought very troubled. Leaving the cups of tea on the counter for the time being, she carried a chair from the kitchen to the couch where Luciano and KD were crying. She walked back to the kitchen, put the cups on a tray, and quickly went back to the lobby. She sat down in front of the two, held the tray in her lap, and waited until they noticed her presence. 'Maybe this will help calm them? If not, at least Max and I can enjoy a drink...

After taking a shower and getting finally dressed in some real clothes (the outfit he had laid out for himself before the timey-wimey adventures had gathered a nice layer of dust, so he had to rifle through his closet), Koji had headed to his shop. His cell phone vibrated for what felt like an hour straight from all the missed text messages and calls when he finally turned it on. After the third frantic message from Foxi he realized it would take something big to make up for this one. He sneaked in through the back door, making sure not to make too much noise. His assistant was trying her best to deal with a customer, but the woman stormed out. "What a piece of work.." he said as he stepped up behind her. She nearly jumped out of her skin, then turned around and punched him in the gut out of instinct, realizing a second later who it was. "Koji! OH! God, Koji.. I'm so sorry... Wait, no I'm not! Where the hell have you been?!" She paused for a second as he gasped for breath a bit. "Wait, no I'm sorry. Here," She said, pulling up a stool, "sit down. Are you ok?" Koji took in a breath and nodded, smiling at her reaction. "Good." She said, then punched him again, this time in the arm. "It's been months, Koji! Months! Nobody at HQ had any idea where you were, you didn't even give me notice! I've been tending to your shop all alone, dealing with angry customers because you haven't worked on their art and you showed no signs of coming back and.." Foxi got more and more out of breath as her complaints piled upon themselves, until she got so worked up that it looked like she was about to cry. "I just wish that you had at least given me som--" Before she could finish her rant, Koji wrapped his arms around her and puled her in for a kiss. "What... the hell was that?" She asked by the time she finally regained composure. He smiled then leaned his head over onto her. "I missed you." He responded. Foxi's gazed became all the more confused. "Are.. you ok? What happened? Are you dieing?" "W-what? No.. I just needed to tell you that, well... I love you." "Oh, god... am I dieing?" "No! Will you just listen to me?" He smiled and put his hands on her shoulders. "I realized while I was gone that you've always been there for me, and I missed not having you around more than I could bear. I love you, I just needed to let you know." Her eyes started to tear up again, but instead of crying, she proceeded with yet another punch. "Loser.." She said, smiling through her watery eyes.
After talking for a few hours about what exactly had happened, and taking a moment to let all the information and emotions settle in, Koji decided it would be better to spend some time with Foxi instead of going home. He half expected her to force him to work on the backed up commissions, but instead she suggested that he take her out to dinner. It was getting late by the time they finished catching up, and Koji decided he'd better get back to HQ in case there was anything important he needed to catch up on.
When he walked through the doors, he found the last thing he expected to see: Luciano huddled over on the couch, completely distraught with KD crying next to him and Nariana trying to help give comfort. The cheerful grin he had been wearing most of the day faded instantly. "What...?" Was all he could get out as he moved toward them.

Skotti heard what KD had said and closed his eyes and hung his head. it had been a long time since a member had died, but without more than one word, he could tell what had happened. Skotti talked to himself "We all know the risks when we enter these doors, but that never matters when we lose one of our own. The pain still cuts like a knife and not one person can stop that..." he said.
