Try being completely surrounded by water and several inches of snow and live in the basement of your house and you'll know how I feel. Cold. I don't much like the heat, but I have my room set to the temperature of a furnace right about now and I'm just damn comfy.

Hm... I betcha the ball would be attracted to the rod if (a) it had an opposite charge or (b) had no charge. Like charges repel. Got nothing on suggesting a better plan.
