Get Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum and go to Gamestop. Then, if you don't have the Mystery Gift option, wait for it to show up and select Receive Via Wireless. Then go to a Poke Mart with an empty slot in your party and voila!

That's cool. Once Gold runs out it becomes Silver. Which is free. And has some restrictions.
