[Noelle : Narnia : Lounge Car]
Noelle felt her heart breaking at the news that they had recovered Rae's heart . . . just for her body to be lost. She would have been whole again, could have rejoined their adventure and Noelle wouldn't have to fill her shoes any more. They could have had their friend back. Her sobs intensified again for several minutes, the handkerchief in her hands hardly keeping up with drying her tears. It was a while before Noelle's breathing calmed and the tears nearly stopped. She leaned against Kyle and stared into empty space as her grief quieted again.
"I . . ." she began after a while, her voice growing detached, "When I w-was younger . . . sti-ill in high school, a classmate of mine w-went missing. I didn't kno-ow her well, but she was close wi-ith all of my friends. Sh-she disappeared after school one day, went to go on a run at the local park where they found her car. We were all concerned but hopeful--she might have just slipped and injured herself on the trails, it was a large and mountainous park, and we'd find her that night or the next day. But by nightfall there was no sign or sound of her. So I prayed. I prayed the hardest I've ever prayed in my life, just asking for her to be brought back safely because so many people loved her. I thought that if I had any presence of power in the world it should work to help bring her back. But the next day she wasn't found. I tried to join search parties, but was considered too young. She wasn't found the next day, either. Little pieces were turning up. Her shoe. Her sock . . . her underwear . . . they found her a few days after she'd gone missing in a shallow grave next to the lake of the park she'd been running in. And there was nothing I could do."
Noelle sighed shakily and looked up at Kyle, anguish obvious on her face, "And here I am again. This feels like what that felt like, that felt like what this feels like."

[ Kyle : Narnia : Outside the Train ]
When the young woman's crying got harder, Kyle inwardly panicked. Of course he would make it worse. He may as well have not said anything at all, and as she began to recount her own personal tragedy, Kyle's remaining hope of soothing her heart crumbled into nothing; that well ran too deeply. When she looked back up, the only expression he could manage was sympathetic sorrow—he couldn't even meet her eyes.
"I'm sorry," he said, though he shook his head, "Not that I'm trying to bear the fault or anything, I'm just... I only mean to offer..."
He slumped, groaning and trying to will away his loss of words with some level of frustration. "We're going to get her back. It's not an if, it's a when. And as long as we have her heart, then she'll be back and whole and fine. That's just how that works, just... how it works."
He'd unconsciously begun to squeeze her close at some point, as if out of reassurance, though at this point it was hard to tell for whom.
"Can't give up hope," he said, more of a muttering than anything profound. "We'll make things right. We will."

[Dani :~: Narnia :~: Lounge Car]
“If we make it back,” Dani responded to the other chakram wielder as she re summoned her chakrams inspecting them over and over as if looking for some type of flaw. She took a second to listen to Zell’s message before turning back over to the nobody.
“I don’t mean to sound like a downer; but, considering our current record train rides are always weird. Let’s just hope this time we do not get blown up or crash” Dani smirked at the last two points. With a sigh Dani crossed her legs and started to get comfortable in her current chair. “I am kinda done with blown up for at least a few hours or so.”

[ Adam : Castle That Never Was : Core Terminal ]
He bolted upright with a heavy gasp, one hand grasping at the automaton next to him.
"Uh, welcome back to the land of the living," the voice said, its bright purple eyes staring at him in what he could only assume was the closest approximation to concern it could manage.
He couldn't respond yet, instead grasping at his chest, curling over in discomfort as a brief flash of light overcame his form. With a groaning shout, the light grew momentarily blinding, and then dissipated entirely; afterward, he was left there with two baseball sized jagged chunks of crystal: nethicite, its sickly green light flickering, and æthicite, radiant and iridescent.
"Uh, why did that happen?"
"Too risky," he said, carefully standing and placing both of them on a pile of books near the mirror before moving over toward the central computer. "Can you divert some power to making two more? These were... deifacted."
"Ah, geez, so that's what happened," the robot responded. In a moment, some of the lights dotting the walls of the massive core sphere flickered to a different color. "Yeah, they'll be done momentarily. Anything else?"
"Find me one of the Org cloaks, grab Merlin's spell sheet, and show me all information on longterm protection. I need to check up on someone."

Narrative Time passed. The journey took little more than half an hour, as it had on the trip there, though rather than anxiety, a mixture of other emotions hung over them. Some remained overcome by loss, while others focused more on the immediate victory at hand—they had, after all, won.
Right?

[ Train -> Hangar ]After checking that everyone was, at least, unharmed—Joseph in particular was concerning, but seemed to be little more than catatonic—Merlin had taken to one of the front booths in the Lounge Car, allowing himself a small nap as he leaned against the window. This nap was disturbed some time later as Aslan walked down the aisle up to Merlin's seat, using one paw to lightly nudge the man from the side. "Huwha-wha?" He jolted, blinking his eyes rapidly and looking around. It took a few seconds to see Aslan to the side. "Oh yes, hello Aslan. What's..."The wizard paused, momentarily confused; the lion purposefully shifted his gaze from the man to the window, and Merlin followed suit, looking outside over the landscape. It was all rather familiar—they were quickly approaching the castle, which would come out over the horizon any moment now. But... "How long?" he whispered, his voice caught in urgency. "At least five minutes, though the train moves more swiftly than I can estimate.""No no no," he hissed to himself, quickly scooting out of his booth and making his way quickly to the Engine Car, where Zell was still awake and keeping an eye on things. "My boy, have we received any communications from the castle at all?" the wizard asked barely a moment after pushing his way in, voice tense as his eyes rapidly scanned the horizon through the large window over the console. "Not so far," Zell responded, making room for Merlin to join him. "Just a lot of scenery. You expecting a call?""Maybe," he said, still holding his gaze on the skies ahead. "We should have passed into the Cornerstone's aura miles ago. It's not here."Zell blinked, caught by surprise by the old wizard's observation. He checked a few of the read-outs on the console, but nothing seemed to be abnormal. A glance from the window, to the old man, back again, and a frown later, and Zell licked his lips before he spoke. "That's... Not good. I can hail them from here no problem. Think we should?"Merlin paused, squinting and running a hand along his beard—which stopped halfway down at the same time his eyes grew slightly wider. "Yes," he said, spotting a wide array of airships appearing over the horizon. At first too far to recognize, especially in the dark, it soon became clear enough at a distance that they were friendly, their spotlights sometimes revealing them as coming from the Lindblum unit; the grand Red Rose could even be identified from this distance. "Yes, posthaste, please."Zell nodded, and it took him a moment to find the communication buttons on the console, buried in the mess of other buttons as they were. A brief bark of static as the communications opened and connected, and Zell cleared his throat. "Disney Train to Disney Castle," he said, loud and clear for the speakers. Handless communications were so useful, especially since he'd be hard-pressed to find any kind of hand or headset in the disarray that was the console. "Come in Disney Castle. Um, please." Zell had been taught how to run the train, but no one had ever given him any training in communication etiquette. Were you supposed to say please and thank you over comms? There was only static at first; one second turned to five, then to ten. They were approaching the line of airships—for they could now see it was a line, or blockade—more quickly than Merlin was comfortable with. He was about to speak up when someone finally responded. "Disney Train, this is Beatrix aboard the Red Rose," a familiar woman's voice called out over the comms only into the Engine Room's speakers. "If that's you coming in, you need to slow down as soon as possible or you'll hit the barrier. Repeat, slow down now.""Yes, ma'am," Zell responded immediately, and punched the correct sequence of buttons to slow the train. It wasn't long before there was a noticeable change in momentum, but it was smooth, unlikely to jostle anyone in the other cars. "Um, what's with this barrier? What happened? And where do I land?""Hold your position. Master Yen Sid will hail you shortly."Static returned, and Merlin looked paler than usual. "The barrier protocol was an emergency back-up," he whispered, eyes darting from ship to ship. They could see the castle now, and the town surrounding it, just a few miles away, lit by the occasional sweep of airship spotlights. "In the event that the Cornerstone..."He abruptly stopped, as if unable to even put it to words. Shortly thereafter, however, the another voice called over the comms, his stern tone more tense than Zell would have ever heard it. "Zell, is everyone okay? Are Merlin and Aslan with you?""Exhausted, but we're all fine," Zell replied as he forced the train into a midair standstill. "Um, for the most part. Yeah, they're with me. Merlin's right here.""Yen Sid, we've got two extra—Noelle and some new man named Nicholas. What's going on? Is the stone in one piece?"The speakers gave out only static for a moment. "Merlin, tell me how you feel about Nimue."The aged wizard suddenly recoiled, as if he'd been sucker-punched. "How dare you! How dare you bring up that—""I apologize. I had to be sure," interrupted the other wizard, a sigh crossing through the static. "I'll create an opening. Once you've landed in the hangar, teleport everyone to the throne room at once. I'll be waiting."The line once again went silent, and Merlin resorted to quietly fuming for a moment as he recomposed himself. As the seconds passed, something began to swirl in the air not twenty feet in front of the train. The invisible barrier suddenly flickered to life as energies began to spiral around a single point, growing larger and larger, before finally pulling apart to reveal an opening large enough for the train to pass through. They'd gotten much closer than they might have realized. With little more than a generally worried expression, Zell slowly started the train back up, guiding it through the barrier and accelerating toward the hangar. ————— An announcement sounded over the train's intercoms as it slowly slid with a hiss into its spot in the grand hangar on the edge of town; they had been there earlier that day, preparing for the parade. "Alright everyone, we're back in town. Yen Sid has asked me to teleport everyone aboard to the throne room, so if you could all meet me outside within the next few minutes, we can get this going and get you all some rest."

[Noelle : Narnia : Lounge Car]
Noelle had cried for a little while longer before her exhaustion overcame her and she slept. It wasn't a very long, or restful, nap but she was comfortable leaning against Kyle and dozed with her head on his shoulder. Before she knew it the train was slowing and there was the crackle of a voice over the train's intercom. She groggily lifted her head and looked around a bit.
"Whas goin on?"

[Delia : Hati ~ Paris ~ Tea Room]
Hati watched Saint in his deliberation, and was a little dissatisfied with his seemingly curt response. He seemed like a bit of a hot-head though, so it was probably best she not press him farther. With a brief shrug, the blonde leaned forward to pour more tea into her cup, the delicate clink of her teaspoon against china being the only sound heard for a few moments.
"Indeed it is my decision," she began, though not in any sort of disrespectful way, "But I do hope to continue the conversation, if you have the patience for it. There are the caveats I mentioned, and I'd like to have you completely informed about the terms of your . . . contract if I agree to enlist you in my service at the price of protecting you. But, if your patience is fleeting and you wish to take your leave, I won't keep you. I'll just leave your 'resume' on file."

[ Kyle : Disney : Lounge Car ]
Kyle didn't sleep, though he did remain fairly comfortable. He'd noticed the first stop, but had stayed in place to wait it through. After flying into the well-lit hangar, Kyle's sense of unease increased—they should have been feeling the comforting effects of the Cornerstone by now. Merlin finally announced their landing, and Noelle awoke.
"We're," —he paused, catching himself— "back at Disney, in the hangar. Yen Sid wants to meet, though I think he'd understand that a good number of us will be cra—" —he caught himself a little late that time— "going to sleep as soon as possible."

[Saint .: Paris :. Tea Room]
You're losing her... fix this or get out...
Dark Ixion's voice echoed through his head. It was a moment of clarity in a way. The dark, low voice was slow, and deliberate.
Saint poured himself some more hot water and said, "I apologize. I am not used to being in the presence of a person that makes me nervous."
Saint smiled a bit and laughed at his own insecurities, steeping his tea all the while.
"Let's start over, shall we?." He said, making eye contact once more. "I seemed to have gotten off on the wrong foot, and for that I apologize. I am not one that would bite the hand that feeds me. I am at least self-conscious enough to know that will do me no good. If I felt that my future actions would conflict with your interests, I would have not sought you out. Realize I am here by my own will... and I am eager to build a fruitful relationship with you, however that may be."

[Nicholas <> Disney <> Lounge Car]Sleep was such a joyous thing. Nicholas had gone from sleeping in a lovely kingly bed with wonderfully soft pajamas to squished into a booth on a magical Disney monorail. With a bleary glance around as the train stopped, his gaze dropped on Kyle and Noelle who had been apparently sitting together for the journey 'home'. He was ready to pass out again, but Kyle's update and their planned meeting of Yen Sid shot the bard wide awake.
He was not expecting to have to see Yen Sid so soon. The discussion of what happened to Louis would no doubt come up, and so would Nicholas' identity as the former Avatar of Chaos. Things were looking just peachy. With a few muttered curses under his breath, Nicholas would slowly rise out of the booth and begin to stretch. Glancing down at his outfit, he sighed, closing his eyes and imaging a new outfit more fitting for a first meeting with the glorious Yen Sid. His chef coat and pants morphed, leaving the bard in much nicer duds.
Nicholas was now wearing a white button up shirt, with a black vest with coat tails over that. His hands were now covered in fingerless studded gloves, and his shoes were now black and white in a classy wingtip style. His chef pants were now proper black slacks, and as a final added touch, Nicholas added a matching top hat which he placed on his head. He turned to Kyle and Noelle, his regular eyeglasses shifting into a pair of solid black goggle-esque sunglasses that blocked out his entire eyes from view.
"So, now that I don't look like I'm going to cook someone a meal, I'm ready as I'll ever be." Nicholas sighed, exhaling a large breath. Over the charms, he would send a message only to Kyle as he placed his arms behind his back.
So, do I need handcuffs or something? Kind of feel like I'm not meant to be so... not secured or halted or really anything.

[Dawn : Disney : Stable Car]
She didn't know how long she cried into Carbuncle. Time passed slowly until those sobs eventually dried up into tremors. That too eventually stopped. Dawn slowly let go of Carbuncle, petting him gently on the head like a cat.
"Thank you, Carby," she said in a hoarse voice, then smiled weakly up at Kyla, red eyes and flushed cheeks included, "And you Kyla. Thanks, I needed that."
Dawn nearly jumped out of her skin at the sound of the train landing into the hanger, followed by Merlin's announcement. She let out a soft sigh. It was too soon.
"Beh and here all I want to do now is sleep with the chocobos." the dancer grumbled as she scratched Carbuncle behind the ear.

{Bobbi, Demyx, Zell, Nanaki, Yuffie .:. Disney Castle .:. Milling About}
Bobbi pushed away from the counter with a sigh at the announcement of being poofed. She rummaged in the cabinets again, this time for a thermos so she could take her tea with her without risk of spilling it. Naturally, the one she found was a deep, nearly black purple. It was perfect.
Armed with tea and the caffeine that came with it, Bobbi headed back to the Lounge car, raised an eyebrow at Nick's new attire, and remained uncharacteristically silent. This was largely because she was tired and didn't think she could manage any semblance of coherency, but also because she was tired, and with tired came cranky, and she didn't want to snap at anyone who didn't deserve it. After that brief pause, she shrugged and headed out the door, gathering in the hangar as Merlin had requested.
Demyx was happy enough to get the ball rolling, having spent the last half hour sharing a seat with someone who wasn't being entertaining. Not that he blamed James, but the Melodious Nocturne got bored about five minutes in. He didn't think playing his sitar would be appreciated by the others, so he hadn't bothered, which left him with nothing to do but listen in on conversations. So as soon as he heard they were to gather in the hangar, he was up and out of his seat and out the door.
"Whew, finally! Trains are so not my thing. D'you think they'll feed us?" he asked no one in particular. He wondered how many people would be annoyed at him, considering everything he'd overheard, and everything they had all been through, but what could it hurt to try to lighten the mood? All this grim solemnity did nothing but give you grey hairs and ulcers.
Zell shot the occasional worried glance Merlin's way as he set about settling the train in the hangar. Checking instrument panels, verifying all the read-outs were where they needed to be, looking for anything that looked like it might need a repair or tune up or just a bit of spit shine, none of it took up much of his attention, and he kept running through worst case scenarios. The Cornersone's protection was gone, that much was obvious. Even Zell knew that was bad, but he had no idea how bad. He was a fighter, first and foremost. He had this gig with the train because he'd needed something to do to be useful, and his fists hadn't been the answer.
It seemed like his fists were the answer far less often than they used to be. Maybe he was getting old. He finished the last of his checks, and turned to regard the old magician with a somber look.
"Should I meet you out there?" he asked, not knowing what else to say.
Nanaki stretched as he stood, but he waited patiently as the others filed out before he moved. He didn't miss Nicholas's change of outfit, but he chose not to comment as he passed the bard. Instead, he headed straight for Yuffie, who had fallen asleep en route, and nudged her.
Yuffie yelped as something cold and wet touched her knee, and looked around frantically. She shouldn't have been surprised to see Red XIII at her side, and she wasn't. Nope, not at all.
"Hey," she protested, loudly. "I was havin' a good dream! Why'd you have to wake me up?"
"We've arrived," Nanaki informed her as he backed out of the booth she had napped in. "Merlin requests we gather in the hangar so he can transport us to Yen Sid." Nanaki briefly considered nudging the other sleepers awake, but he figured Yuffie's yelp would have been more than enough to rouse them. If not, then he would see about waking them.
"Oh," Yuffie muttered, then stretched and yawned. "Alright, I guess that's a good reason to wake me up. Just... next time, don't poke me with your nose, okay?"
"Of course," Nanaki agreed with a nod. "Would you prefer claw or tooth in the future?"
"...You know what? On second thought, the nose is fine!"

[Kyla & “Carby”, Axel: Disney Train: Stable Car]
The summon remained like that for as long as the dancer required, nuzzling it’s silky fur against her cheek as she wept to try and dab the tear streaks from her face. When it was over and she could speak again the creature did it’s equivalent of a smile, ear perking, tail slightly swishing from side to side- “It’s my pleasure” the summon responded.” – whilst I don’t always get it right, I’ll try and help however I can. I hope you’re at least beginning to feel a bit better. Coarse that will take time.” Kyla looked upon Dawn and smiled a little, nodding to her thanks in both agreement with Carbuncle. The summon and its summoner shared the same feeling and sentiment in that moment. "It's no problem- partially why Carbuncle's my favorite." Kyla winked showing a rare sigh of humor. Though it was short lived- when her eyes went to the windows of the car- something about the lighting didn’t look how she thought she remembered it. Before the artist could cross to the window of one of the stables to check however a voice came to them, communicating they had indeed returned- however, “- something is amiss…” Carby said voicing her partners concerns. The cornerstone, for once Kyla was hoping to benefit from its overshadowing effects. Almost welcoming it this time, to ease the ache in her heart- but its presence never came over her. Funny how unsettling that seemed. “- no rest for the wicked or weary it seems.” She replied, looking back to Dawn as she commented- that actually made the artist chuckle a little. “It’s softer then you’d think, and the chocobos make friendly and soft company.”She’d know. --------- The Firey chakram figured Dani’s sense of humor was pleasant and acted accordingly. No doubt her more laid back attitude was his type in all this mess to hang with. As he agreed with her about the benefit of a no-explosions period for a LEAST 2 days, give Zell a break- their conversation was sparse but lighter then most of the people there. Eventually they passed from kind of boarder, approaching the castle- but looking outside his brow lifted, muttering something of a question if she remembered so many ships in the distance when they left. When they crossed the blockade only then did he actually dismiss his weapons. Odd- perhaps it was Dani’s comment that prompted him keeping them loosely hanging off his finger tips? “- And here we are… all off then. lucky us- no explosions.” Axel stood up cracking his back, he gave Dani a nod before going to join the other outside the train. “No Demyx, they expect us- the heros of the battle- to live off of the fumes of victory and continue on into the next fight.” He snarked at other nobody giving him a light jab as he passed. ----------- “Guess we should go. If Yen Sid wants to see us right away, no doubt it cannot wait.” Kyla replied offering Dawn a hand to get to her feet. “I’ll stay out with you if you like.” The summon offered, to the two of them but mostly to Dawn. Kyla would nod in approval, it would mean she’d have to stay close to Danw though, Carbuncles area of effect wasn’t too wide. “If you don’t mind we pass by Joe’s bed for a moment… I’m worried. If he’s not recovered will they move him somewhere?”

[ Merlin and Co. : Disney : Train -> Hangar ]
"I wager so," the wizard said, sighing as he began to walk out of the car. "Yen Sid will likely want a debrief of what happened tonight, and if you happen to remember something anyone missed, it could be important."
The old man walked into the Lounge Car as the others began to stand and get ready, including Nicholas. He was about to mention someone grabbing Joseph, but another Earthling, Matthew, managed to rouse the young man and explain the situation. As a result, Joe began to make his way off the train, silent and clearly ragged.
With only another nod to Sora and Riku, the wizard made his way out into the lit hangar, where he awaited everyone else.
Meanwhile, Sora and Riku made sure to double check the various bunks and booths for anyone still asleep; they woke those that were, catching them up to speed and trying to corral them outside with everyone else.
As Kyle began helping himself and Noelle up, he got Nich's question and responded privately.
"I imagine that Yen Sid will decide that when all this is said and done," he replied. "But for now, you're fine. We're in one of the most secure places in the world—not without error, apparently—but more than that, on high alert. Just behave and things should go smoothly."
