monkeys and and mike rowe are a good thing to watch. espisely when he was on a monkey farm and the monkeys where trying to attack him it was funny.

Actually, I would argue that. It wasn't so much recording as different notation techniques. Sheet music from way back then is incredibly hard to decipher because they used so much different stuff than we did, and also, some of markings simply were "play this here" marks, with the actual part to be taught by someone who knew it.

In 10,000 years, music notation would have changed DRASTICALLY from what we have now, so I think any music from this era would not only be lost in translation but also long forgotten. It's ridiculously hard to preserve stuff like that, and I seriously doubt recordings would have much effect.

I was just saying that the main reason we dont listen to old music is that we have no idea how... I.E the "Play this Here". But we have no idea what will happen in the future because we have something that we didn't have the first millennium. Computers & the internet. But anyways I really dont care if current music is in the rp or not I just like being able to use the Rhetorical Debating techniques I learned in school this year. But there is one flaw in your argument about the evolution of instruments in the future. And that is that in E7 music seems to have devolved & not evolved. Some Examples are the Giant Speakers & Techno sound. The techno sound had to of come from somewhere. So I think they had/have access to music from our time or older in their time.

EDIT: Also large speakers dont give out better sound the smaller ones. BOSE speakers sound much much better then large speakers. Even the sub-woofer is small About 6-8 inches tall.

Thank you, synthesizers i forgot what they were called. You see them in the episode Where Renton meets Ray & Charles. Those models look like the ones from 20-30 years ago. They look nothing like the ones we have now. But then again the creators of E7 seem to have a fascination with Hippies, techno music, & drugs. I.E the 70's & early 80's.....

Yeah, but pretty much those were like stage speakers. The only thing I can think of them doing to change the design and make it look more modern would be to just streamline it... like reduce bulk and stuff or give it curves. But personally, I don't really see the design of the box containing the speaker as a mark of regression. It's possible to look at it like Ray and Charles were "antique" collectors or something and didn't want any of the potentially fancier-looking ones out there. razz Since there's not much else music-related stuff besides that scene, though, it's sorta hard to tell.

We're just discussing Music in E7. This really doesn't have anything to do wwith the roleplay but anyways I think Sorens last post pretty much ended the discussion anyways. Theres no way to tell as there was only a few scenes with music in it. But E7 is a combination of old & new technology. Like the weird Headphones & other things. Thats one of the reasons I like it. But I guess no current music in the RP is ok.
