"Immortal, huh?" Cody asked. He stroked Dari's cheek, trying and failing at ignoring the implications of that word. There was a chance Dari would end up alone one day. He didn't like that. He looked around, hoping for a change of subject. He saw one.
"Look, Dari! Deer!"

"Shh!" Dari said softly. He laughed and wrapped an arm around Cody.
"The last entity we picked up, she was a deer woman. Very pretty."

"Really? Like...a faun?" Cody blinked. "Like...No, fauns are goat people aren't they..." He puzzled over this for a moment before leaning against Dari. "When do you want to head to Toby's?"

"Fauns are something else entirely," Dari said with a nod. He reached up and stroked Cody's hair at his temple. "I don't know. I'm happy right here."

"You're spilling all your secrets now," Cody kissed Dari's chin. "You're not planning to flash a pen and this'll never have happened, are you?" A direct reference to a movie, but Cody couldn't resist. "We'll stay here, then," he added, smiling softly. "As long as we like."

"You know, we actually do have something like that? It's not the size of a pen, but still. And no. No, I trust you." He leaned against Cody and sighed.
"I love you so much."

"In a lot of ways, yeah, we are. Toby said he almost got kicked out of the theater because he couldn't stop laughing." He laughed and grinned to Cody and then stole a lingering kiss.

"I can picture that," Cody said grinning. Toby did seem the sort to find humor in the similarities--and some of the ridiculousness of Hollywood. "I tend to laugh at the Hollywood historical movies." He returned the kiss happily, letting it linger.

"I'd never been able to go to a movie theater before my ring. When painted my eyes glow, even behind glasses, and with the projector I'd just glow in general. It was pretty exciting to get to go."
Dari turned and slid down to lay his head in Cody's lap.

"Would you like to go to a movie?" Cody asked. He'd taken Dari to one on their first date. But he didn't think they'd gone to another. He smiled as Dari ended up in his lap, and stroked his fiancee's short hair. "Maybe next weekend?"

"Sure," Dari agreed, "What will we see? We'll have to actually watch it in public." He closed his eyes then and gave a contented sigh. Ah, he loved human sensations. They were so different! Hair-petting, for example, was very soothing.

"I don't know, why don't you pick?" Cody suggested, smiling at Dari. "We can see anything you'd like." he continued petting. "You're cute, looking all peaceful," he observed.
