Ah, if we're getting into former cats as well....
Miriam's updated cat list:
Max - Max was a black & white purebred Manx (tailless) that we got my dad for his birthday many years ago. He was a very sweet cat, true to his breed, that did silly things like swimming in the sink. He died a few years ago after getting a brain tumor.
Tigera - A grey tabby. My mom got her from a friend at work who said she couldn't take care of her anymore. We quickly learned that this was because the cat was feral. She broke out of the house before her vet appointment to be spayed and got herself knocked up, giving birth to a very unstable litter of kittens. We eventually had to return her to the wild because she was too violent.
Wobbles - One of Tigera's kittens, a grey and white part-bobtail cat (a stub instead of a full tail). I was never sure of her actual gender because she only lived 5 weeks, but she was my favorite of all the kittens. She was named wobbles because one of her birth defects caused her to wobble and roll over when she tried to walk. I was in 5th grade when she died, so you can imagine how I cried
sad Candy - Another one of Tigera's kittens, also a grey and white part-bobtail. We decided to keep her after Wobbles died because she had the least attractive coat-pattern of the kittens and was therefore the least likely to be adopted. My late grandma named her "Candy" because she loved stealing and eating certain types of candy. She was a little messed up in the head, but very lovable. She died soon after Max did when she broke out of the house and got hit by a car.
Krystal - My first cat (as in, this cat specifically belongs to me and not just the family), the brown tabby. I adopted her from the pound when I was in High School because I was an emo kid and needed something fuzzy to cheer myself up with. She used to be absolutely terrified by everyone but me, but has now taken over the house and bosses the rest of the cats around. She sleeps at the foot of my bed every night and cries outside my door all night if I shut it before she gets there.
Lilith - The black long-haired cat. We adopted her from the SPCA after Max died, since Candy seemed to be lonely. She has an uncanny ability to blend into anything by appearing to be a shadow, so you might be looking around the house for something and suddenly stumble over a cat.
Cinnabar - Mica's mother, a hyper-affectionate orange tabby. She was a stray that I adopted during Buffalo's infamous
October Surprise. She kept breaking out of the house but always returned, and she eventually got herself preggers. Once her kittens were old enough, she broke out of the house one final time and hissed at Mica when she tried getting back in. I decided that enough was enough and shut her out for good.
Mica - The Black and Orange Tortoiseshell, one of Cinnabar's 5 kittens. She's a little over 9 month's old right now and is one of the craziest cats I've ever seen, even as far as kittens go. Whenever I open something, whether it be a cabinet or a fridge, she immediately jumps into it. She tried jumping into the oven one time but immediately learned her lesson. My boyfriend (who normally hates cats and is mildly allergic to them) claims her to be his kitten because he picked her out.
Old Yeller AKA Tanuki - Orange Tabby yet-to-be-neutered tomcat. He lives at my parent's house right now and I'm not letting him anywhere near Mica until one of them gets fixed. 0_0
Ah, how I wish I could follow this up with a list of dogs...
I suppose I could list my turtles, but that might not be as interesting.
